  1. Hi Evernote team, I love that you can forward emails to Evernote to create new notes, and I love that you can set tags from the subject line with '#' and '@' modifiers. I have a problem because I have some important tags with special characters (e.g., "@Home"). People inspired by thesecretweapon.org will probably have the same "@<location>" tags set up. Tags with '@' or '#' characters are currently ignored (as the support page does state). Would it be possible to amend the email subject line parsing to allow for direct quotations of tags? For example, the email subject line "My email subject line text @MyNotebook #"@Home" #tag2 #tag3" would create a note titled "My email subject line" in notebook "MyNotebook" with tags "@Home", "tag2", and "tag3". Or maybe treat everything as text after the first @ or # until the next space character? So the email subject line "My subject line text #@Home" would make a note with the tag "@Home". Thanks for making a great product, Brian
  2. Hi, Since the update to the Chrome plugin, I can't figure out a way to capture the body of emails in gmail. If the email is open, or if the email is open and I have manually selected the text, the plugin only captures the subject and some info about sender and receiver, but not the actual content of the email. There is no option to save the selection. If I use the rt click on the mouse instead of the plugin icon, there is still no option to make a selection and save it. Does anyone know how to capture the actual content now? Thanks!
  3. I want to automatically file notes in a specific notebook when they are added as an email ... and when I can't change the subject line. Scenario: I want to redirect email submitted to a specific email adress, for example "important@mydomain.com", to my "create-note-by-email"-email address (this part is easy). Then I want those new notes to be filed in a specific notebook. The problems are + I can't figure out a way to change the subject line when redirecting (thus no @-tag) + This doesn't happen frequent enough that it's worth the money for a service like incloud + IFTTT doesn't work since it doesn't include attachments (which is important) + I couldn't find a way to set up a filter in OS X Mail to change the subject line (I want this to happen automatically without any manual actions) Does anyone have an idea for how to achieve this? I'm interested in all kind of ideas Summary: How do I file email messages sent to 'important@mydomain.com' to notebook "Very important", with all attachments intact and completely automatically
  4. I made a rule in gmail to follow AppleStore Invoices emails to my Evernote account. But each time, when i look the invoice inside Evernote : there are big grey squares... So each time i must delete one by one each square... Something may be wrong ?? Have a look here : Original Invoice email : http://goo.gl/IffTW1When received in Evernote : http://goo.gl/ng6jVD
  5. When I click on Activity and then click on Email to Evernote it has me create a newsgroup. I have no idea what to put for the Newsgroup Server setting. How do I do this? Thank you. Troy
  6. I share an account with two other users and until recently, have had no issues sending notes with Excel, Word and/or PDF attachments to Evernote. I use the appropriate notebook/tag format in the subject line and have my email set to HTML format. Once I view the notes in Evernote, the attachments won't open or the format is skewed. I've also tried to screenshot images/data, but the Evernote displays these as: [cid: image001.png]. I'm not sure whether this is an issue with the account as the other 2 users have successfully sent notes w/ attachments. Open to any suggestions you may have. Thanks!
  7. Up until 7.0.x, when using email, I could type the addressee's names on the keyboard. Unfortunately, this functionality is either broken or intentionally changed in 7.0.2 (sure hope this isn't working as designed). You can type in the person's first name, but if you add a space and then start typing the last name, the lookup aborts. Older versions continued to lookup after the space. This is really important when looking up contacts that have the same and only are distinguishable via last name. Its even more problematic when you're in landscape mode as the number of hits shown on the screen is far less than in portrait.
  8. I am new to Evernote and slowly but surely figuring it out. I just set up several notebooks and was attempting to forward some emails into them. The email went to Evernote successfully but went into the default account. An example subject line was Reading Plan @Metcalf. Even though I indicated (I think) that it was to go to the notebook titled Metcalf, it went to the default account. What am I missing? Thanks!
  9. Automator + Evernote Mavens, Do you have, and would you be willing to post, a Mac OS X Automator Script that addresses the following use-case (story card)? As a Mac Mail User, while viewing a specific Email, I would like to have the ability to click on a button in the Mac Mail Toolbar which automatically creates a "Forward" Email to send the selected Email to my Evernote Account . . . AND strips out of the "Forward" my signature block . . . THEN sends the Email via Mac Mail to EN. Your thoughts? FYI: The next Automator script I work on...will be my first, ever (note; ha!). Many, many thanks! Plane Wrtyer
  10. In the previous version of Web Clipper, when I saved an email it came with a URL that, when clicked, opened that email in Gmail. Now it just opens Gmail, and I have to find the email myself. That's a huge inconvenience.
  11. Hi there. New to Evernote. Can I only send a note as an email if I pay to upgrade? And the same goes for synching between ipad, windows computer and iphone? thanks for the help!
  12. Please provide a way of choosing different outbound email addresses ("from" address) when emailing notes. If not a dropdown of choices, the ability to set one address per notebook would still be beneficial. For instance, I'd like to send business related notes from my business email account, but everything else from my personal account. Sending business notes with my personal account looks unprofessional at best and/or hits junkmail filters at worst. Thanks!
  13. Hi Is there a way to filter everything that you send to Evernote via your email address to a specific notebook? -Seth
  14. I have been sharing Notes via email for a couple of years. Is their anyway to track or find record of what I've shared?
  15. I have emails with large attachments (documents) I want to save. If I send them to evernote, can I delete the email? If I delete the email with the attachment, will it delete from evernote? I am trying to both 1) organize and 2) clear up space on my hard drive. Thanks in advance. Hope this question is clear.
  16. I´m trying to email myself most of my business email to my EN Business account in order to archive and process it there. I used the email forwarding to my EN account without problems, but with Business I cannot seem to find the email to send them to. If I send them to my regular EN account, they get into my "Inbox" in my personal account. Since this are Business related notes, I want them to get to my "Business Inbox". I cannot seem to have the ability to make a "default notebook" in my Business Notebooks, nor do I seem to have a different email to send things there. Even worse, when I send them using the "@" for automatically moving to that Notebook, It doesn´t recognize the notebook if it´s in the Business side of Evernote and it get again clumped in my Personal Inbox. This way I have to manually sort every note and move them to my Business Inbox. This doesn´t make any sense. Please let me know how can i solve this, because as far as I´ve tested it, paying for Evernote Premium and using it for work is much better than paying for Business Account. Thanks! R
  17. Hi, I'm wondering how I change witch e-mail program that I use to send/share my notes that I'v done? At the moment it uses "Mail" on the computer but I want to change this to "Outlook" - how do I do? Thankful for quick response. Kind regards, Nicklas Johansson, Sweden
  18. Hi everyone, I remember before I used to upload notes and send contents to my notebook via email. Can anyone remind me how to do that? I've been gone for a little while and can no longer seem to remember it. What I do basically is I email a specific address and the contents of that email will automatically be uploaded as a note / content on my notebook. Thanks in advance!
  19. When I send a note that contains an image as an email, the image comes out perfectly sized when viewed on an iPad. The same email message when opened on a computer is very difficult to view. The image is far too large. Any advice on how to make the image in the email appear more appropriately sized on a computer? Thanks!
  20. Doesn't seem to work for me..........it just ends up in "unfiled". I have a Stack named "Travel". I email air reservations to the "Air" notebook nested within "Travel" but they never appear there....they always appear in "Unfiled".
  21. Hi, hoping someone can help me. I'm new to using Evernote, and trying to test out what I can, and can't do with it. I'm using IFTTT, and trying to set up a 'workflow' for a particular type of receipt that gets emailed to me, into my Expensify folder in Evernote. What I've set up is - Supplier automatically emails receipt to my Gmail account IFTTT recipe to copy emails with that subject line into an Evernote folder Expensify then picks it up from there It all seems to be working, except from the fact that the body of the email isnt coming across. The header is correct, and I can insert fields into the body of the note from the recipe no problem, but the email body itself doesnt come across. The recipe I'm using is Gmail Search for "Receipt subject" Create a note Title Receipt {{ReceivedAt}} Body {{BodyPlain}} Notebook Expensify Tags IFTTT,Expenses,Expensify,Uber Can anyone offer any suggestions?
  22. We are trying to use EN to log all project correspondence hence we try to publish all emails from EN. However we have two major niggles which cost us a lot of time: 1. After sending an email EN moves to the back and Outlook or Chrome appears. it doesn't sound much but if this happens with every email sent it becomes a real pain in the ass. 2. There is no library for email addresses. This is the biggest time waster and EN should really consider this especially for Business users. Would love to hear from other EN users. Paul
  23. I really want to use evernote to hold emails and organize them better. every so often i need to forward an email to some one from my evernote. my issue is i cant go back and look to see if i actually sent it or not, and this produces and uneasy feeling in me that i notice. i would appreciate it if i evernote would create a "Sent" Folder within the activity showing just things that we have sent out from our ever note. i would especially appreciate an option when sending an item to have evernote autosend an item to my own email address by checking a box along with sending it to the person i am trying to write to.
  24. Just had a "Doh" moment - there've been various requests in the Forum for help in converting emails into Evernote, and of course the lovely and talented Evernote clipper may be there to help you in some mail clients. For those who lack this facility however, but do have a Scansnap scanner or have otherwise acquired or purchased PDF software (My Adobe 9 came bundled with the scanner), check out your email client toolbar for PDF related links. I have never used an email-to-PDF function in my life before, but just thought to check out my Outlook 2003 toolbar. There, large as life, were two buttons - one for Adobe, one for Nuance (since I actually bought PDF software separately, way before getting the Scansnap. Double-doh). Both links popped up during the installation of the software, but had never yet been used. Both however happily offer the option to convert one or many emails (+ attachments) to indexed PDF files, which as we all know can be added to Evernote rather easily. Actually doing this in Adobe crashed my ageing Outlook (again), but Nuance worked fine. A quick check on the interweb suggests there are also lots of additional options out there for online or downloadable email-to-Evernoteable file type conversions, most of them (the dl software ones at least) paid-for. I talked recently in a different thread about some "mailbox zero" ambitions - I think they may just have gotten a little closer...
  25. Hi, I found a couple of issues when emailing notes into evernote. 1. If I want to put in a tag in the subject, the tag will only get recognized if there is already a note with that tag in the notebook I am sending the note to. So, one can't create a new tag with an email. 2. If I put a link to another Evernote note in the email that I send into Evernote, the link functionality will be lost. The text will still appear with the same formatting (i.e. green), but you can't click on it. Any thoughts?
