  1. There are two basic ways to get a copy of a screenshot into Evernote. I do this all the time when documenting stuff and I NEVER want it in a new note, but always inline where I am typing. Here is how I can do it: Get what I want on the screen Right-click the EN icon on the task bar, select Clip Screenshot Drag to get what I want Go to my @Inbox notebook and get the note Cut the image out of the new note Delete the new note Find my note I was in Find my place in the note CTRL-V Or, I just discovered this today: Get what I want on the screen Press the Win-Shift-S key (Win10) or Win-S (Win7) if OneNote is installed, and it is. Drag to get what I want Click back to my note on Evernote CTRL-V Delete all of the notes OneNote has created this way at the end of the day. The beauty of this is, in step 3 for OneNote, it creates a note and puts the image on the clipboard. If Evernote did the same, I'd be golden. I'd actually prefer a setting where Evernote would just clip to the clipboard and not bother with a new note.
  2. Is it me or is it Evernote? There is no way that I can find to highlight text? No I don't want to change the color of the text I want to highlight it. Even the text editor that this forum uses has a highlighter. Please say it's just me.
  3. I think it would be nice to be able to start typing a new notes tile name immediately after clicking the "New note" button (desktop version). Now you have to klick the title field first. I always forget this and it's quite annoying.
  4. Up to ver 6.5.4 searching was wonderful! entering a search term in the search box at the top of the notes stack, would list the notes that contained the search terms. clicking on a note would display the note ** and slide down the note to the location of the 1st instance of the search term **. Then the next version came out. Since then, the search merely displays the note, but the slider remains at the top of the page. A "profile setting" would be good. this way mobile phones would scroll around... but desktops, laptops, tables would be free to do so. Please restore this functionality. I've installed each update since then, only to uninstall them and re-install 6.5.4.
  5. Having a way to color code or flag notes in the desktop version of Evernote would be helpful. See attached image for example. Even being able to flag a note or highlight a note in a single color or with a distinctive marker of some sort would suffice. But having different color options would be ideal.
  6. Hi! My understanding is there should be a way to use Evernote to read text back in a computer voice (so I can hear what I have written). However, I cannot for the life of me find it, and I have been looking. I can get my Windows PC to take dictation, no problem, except that is the exact opposite of what I am looking for and it's got nothing to do with Evernote, anyway. So, thoughts? Or at least sympathy? Many thanks, in advance.
  7. I've tried restarting my laptop, deleting and reinstalling the app (multiple times), but although my internet + evernote is working on Safari, I keep receiving this message on the app.
  8. hi, in the Windows desktop client for Evernote I would like to filter my font list. E.g. only show a list of selected fonts in the font combo when editing a note. Or sort my selected font on top of the LONG list of font in Windows. Yes I know I can uninstall font in Windows but I don't like to start doing that. And seeing 250+ font in the combo when I only need 2-5 is a BIG distraction when editing a note in Evernote.
  9. Hi, I used to be able to share Local Notes via email until updating to Evernote for Mac 6.13.1. I used to right click on the note in column/list of snippets, which brought up the contextual menu. I then selected Sharing, More Sharing and Email a Copy, which brought up a mail window and allowed me to send a copy of the Local Note. I did this countless times despite the note being a Local Note. When seeking help on this, I was told that this function never existed. Really? Was it some kind of fluke in my case? Am I the only person who was able to do this? I have had Local Notes that have remained private for almost a year, and yet I used to email myself and a few others copies of the Local notes each time I updated them. I would be glad to hear of other people's experiences with this
  10. Dear all, I have a very simple request: To switch from the title of the note to the tags field by using <tab> Right now both <tab> and <enter> take you from the title to the body of the note, skipping the tags field on the windows or mac client. I know that the shortcut <ctrl>+<alt>+<T> does bring up the tags but as a pop up field.
  11. It would be of great help to be able to see a list of all shared notes and notebooks in one place.
  12. Is there a way to put in one note a reference of another note. And when clicked, that reference to send me to that referenced note? (ex: like when we create a table of contents)
  13. Text styling (Titles, Subtitles, differing levels of headers, body, quotes) as it's found in the mobile version of Evernote, Google Docs, etc. would be super helpful in speeding up my note taking (less time formatting with Bold, adjusting text size, etc.) while aiding taxonomy and keeping a more consistent styling throughout my notes. Allowing user overrides for the styling is a nice touch, but not necessary.
  14. Hello there Reminders on the desktop clients (at least I know about windows) are lacking some sort of notification, that is clearly visible when it matters. I mean, what is the point of setting up a time critcal reminder (since you have the option to do so) and not have it notify you in any useful way, when you are working at your desktop. Therefore I am suggesting some kind of notification that will stay visible until you deal with it. I would see several ways how this might be implemented (of course you should be able to turn it on or off). A Popup you have to click to remove it or a new menu option on the left where all reminders are visible and when one of the times is reached, the option turns red or something. or some other clearly visible way. Thanks and kind regards, Leu
  15. Evernote for desktop generates a duplicate icon in the taskbar in addition to the pinned program icon. It ends up making my taskbar look very cluttered when I have Evernote open; I'd appreciate a more seamless, integrated look. Instead of adding a blue bar to the bottom of the pinned icon, a duplicate icon with the blue bar appears alongside the original. From what I have read, this is an incompatibility issue that can only be resolved by the developer (https://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/04/fix-duplicate-icon-issues-on-the-windows-taskbar/).
  16. Hi, I installed a desktop app on Win7 32b, and my text in notes is displayed incorrectly. I couldn't read one word from a note. However, It works correctly in a browser, a mobile app, and another laptop. Please see screenshots. I can recognize text only on a large zoom (screenshot 3). I use the last version of Evernote_6.7.4.5741
  17. The last few days I have been unable to access Evernote online on my desktop. I can use it on my iPhone without problems, but on the desktop after I enter my login details it stays loading the login screen without getting any further (https://www.evernote.com/Home.action?login=true). Okay, as I was typing this, it actually signed me in in another tab (but didn't other days after leaving it this long) However, it is only showing the contents of one note, and doesn't have my list of other notes, so I still can't use it for what I'm needing. Evernote in my iPhone app still has all the data.
  18. I have the free Evernote account; I am running Mavericks on my iMac and iOS 7 on my iPad and iPhone. I haven't been able to find a clear explanation of where my data is stored and where it is not stored. I understand that all my notes are permanently stored (unless I delete them) on the Evernote servers and that I can access them through my browser if I want to. But: (1) Using the Evernote desktop app on my iMac, I seem to be able to access my notes very quickly, which suggests that copies of all my notes are also stored on my hard drive, updated when I sync, and where I can access them even when I am not connected to the Internet. Is this correct? (2) When I access notes from my mobile device they must be downloaded from the Evernote servers. Does this mean that they are only stored temporarily on my mobile device while I am viewing or editing them? When do these temporary copies disappear from the memory of my mobile device? (3) I understand that the Premium account will allow me to maintain copies of all my notes on my mobile devices at all times so that I can access them even when I am not connected to the Internet. Is this correct? It would be helpful to have this information clearly presented on the Evernote support site. Perhaps it is; I haven't been able to find it. In the meantime, can anybody provide answers to these questions? Thanks.
  19. On the WebApp/Browser version of Evernote, I can use a single backtick: ` before and after a snippet to turn it into a code snippet, just like Markdown/Zendesk, etc. Works great, even inside a bulleted list. I can also select a block of text, and hit the Code Block button, or use three backticks: ``` before/after the text block, and turn it into a code block, again even if it's inside a bulleted list. I can't do any of this in the Windows version of Evernote, which is extremely odd to me that the web client is more fully featured and easier to use?! In the Desktop client, backticks seems to do nothing - they don't trigger any formatting. I can select a block of text, but I can't turn it into a code block, unless it's NOT in a bulleted list?! Worst of all, code snippets seem to be ignored in the Windows version - even if they look/work ok in the WebApp interface! Things are slightly better in the Android app, since at least it does show code snippets I've previously created. Thus I've uninstalled the desktop version as I can't find any utility in it over the browser version and it's missing these critical features I need. Which begs the question - why is the far more complicated desktop version of the app, failing to do these simple formatting requests? Furthermore why is the interface and featureset between all versions of evernote, so different from eachother? Why isn't there just one standard interface and feature set on all platforms!? So confusing to me.
  20. Typing along in a note that I've been working on for a few days and I fat fingered something (I don't know what), I saw it select a bunch of text and delete it. Undo and Ctrl+Z did not do anything. I looked for File History, but that was yesterday's version. I am using the Evernote Desktop Premium edition version 6.6.4.5512 on Windows 7 Pro. So frustrating !!!
  21. I was troubleshooting my husband's iPhone and needed some info in my Evernote account. He does not use Evernote and did not have the app installed, so I logged in to the desktop site in Safari. Now I can't figure out how to log out. Please help.
  22. Hi folks! I am new to Evernote, but since everyone kept saying how incredibly amazing it was I decided I should give it a try. I can log in just fine with my Gmail account to the iOS app as well as to the web app from my desktop browser (Chrome on Mac OS Sierra). However, when I try to log in to the desktop app, I keep receiving this message. Does anybody know how to fix it? Thank you!
  23. I am using the latest windows desktop version: 5.9.1.8742 and the latest android version of evernote. I use many tags with two words, for example “Europe France” and “Europe Germany”. When i try to tag a note with “France”, the tag list doesn’t show “Europe France” tag. Facing the same problem on evernote android app but on evernote website its working perfectly ! I am missing something? or the desktop and android version doesn’t support this? Please help.
  24. Hi! With a new interface both in web and desktop version is completely uncomfortable to manage Notebooks and Tags. For me ideal is that OBVIOUS way to manage them: http://prntscr.com/ebtth9 Kindly ask you to bring them back!
  25. I couldn't find this one here already, but I would love to see the desktop application (Mac, in this case) change the positions of the info icon and the trash icon so they aren't next to each other. Ideally, place the trash icon on the other side of the share dropdown box, so it's the rightmost option. I cannot count the number of times I've had to fish through the trash when wanting to only view some information on a note.
