  1. I've been trying to find the Evernote database in Mac OS Lion 10.7.5. There are several notes on the web about this topic but all of them I've found so far refer to either Mountain Lion or earlier versions such as 10.7.3. None of them helps me find the database. I've also tried searching on my Mac for "evernote" "com.evernote" and similar. Where is the Evernote database in Mac OS LION 10.7.5? The reason I am trying to find it is that some data was accidently erased and of course, it synced to all my other computers before I could correct the error. If I can find where the database is I can attempt to restore it to an earlier state using Time Machine. I tried using Time Machine to resore /Users and also /Application Support but modification of those is not allowed. Any clues?
  2. I just did a reinstall of windows 8 and installed Evernote. I imported everything successfully and both my synched and local notebooks seem fine; meaning 152(synched)+5(local) notes in my 2 notebooks which matches what I had before backup. On the first look I can not see anything that is missing. However, database sizes change in odd ways, and I want to know if that is sign I am missing anything? I kept track of sizes of these 4: username.exb/ username.exb.snippets/ username.exb.thumbnails/ files in Attachments folder for my backup sizes (KB) are: 52352 / 356 / 30167 / 2343 (95 files) right after restoring: 47588 / 122 / <missing> / 156 (1 file) 1 hour after restoring: 47432 / 229 / <missing> / 210 (3 files) 3 hours after restoring: 47432 / 522 / <missing> / 210 (3 files) I am not uploading anything, only these downloads; I have a lot more upload allowance left. I am not creating/editing notes either, only sometimes viewing. I can see 'Attachments' being empty is not a problem, but what about others: 1) what is in .snippets? should I care? (getting bigger than original!) 2) what is in .thumbnails? should I care it is missing?! should I copy/paste it from backup? 3) why is my .exb shrinking?! loosing anything? 4) is everything normal?! I have not added anything new until I know things are ok. EN forum.rtf
  3. Hi, I've got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and just updated it to JellyBean 4.3, I installed Evernote, but when I opened it.. I got a Database read/write error. I also read these threads in these links which have a sorta similar problem; the fixes mentioned didn't work for me... http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/33794-database-readwrite-error-android-tablet-running-451/# http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/33794-database-readwrite-error-android-tablet-running-451/# I've tried deleting the local evernote folder "Android/data/com.evernote" from my phone & pc as well without any luck, I've also tried renaming the folder without any luck. I've attached the log file that I was able to get a hold of. PS: I can access my notes on my PC just fine Thanks! Evernote log.zip
  4. Hello, I need some help here. I upgraded from 2.2 to 5.x AND I am having 3 significant issues. using scansnap s1300i, Mac 10.8.2, Evernote Version 5.0.6 (400960) Evernote search is not working 100% as it did in 2.2 ex, when searching for "9.76" cant find it, but in 2.2 it CAN!!! this worries me. Evernote hangs on "Processing" and have to force quit when restarting mac. Can Evernote have UNLIMITED local database? I hate to continue with this product till I have resolved this. I have quite a bit in notebooks now. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks Vixster
  5. I installed the new version 3.3.0 for mac. When login, evernote couldn't go on. It always let me input password. So I open the folder which stores the data of evernote before. But the folder user/library/application support/Evernote disappeared. Where is the new database folder? In fact, I store the Evernote folder in other place, and I use "ln" command to store a virtual folder in user/library/application support , What can I do?
  6. I've just installed Windows 8 so I can dual-boot on my Windows 7 computer. Can I set the system up to share the database, no matter which OS I boot into? I can't find where to set the database location in Windows 8, and am wondering if this is safe. Should I use the Windows 7 database location or the Windows 8 database location, or am I just looking to lose all my EV data?
  7. Hi every Evernoter! I have just discovered Evernote, so I don't yet know my way around. I have done a couple of hours of searching on Google, but I haven't found what I'm looking for yet. Please forgive me if this question has already been laboured to death... I would like to be able to use a Notebook in a similar way to a Table in a database. In other words, I would like to be able to create a series of Notes, all with the same structure. For example, all the Notes in a Notebook named "Contacts" could have a two-column table with a four-row structure like this: Name: Jack Horner Email: jack@example.com Phone: 555-678-1234 Picture: <image> The idea is that every time you create a new note in this particular Notebook, the table with all the labels in the left column will be created automatically, so all you have to do is fill in the details. Is this already possible, by using something from the Trunk? Or will I have to use a workaround like creating a note with an empty table, and copying that table to every new note? I can see that there is a developer community using an API to create other applications that interact with Evernote, but is there a way to create new functionality (such as the feature I have described) that will work within Evernote? Thanks for your patience with a newbie, and for pointing me gently in the right direction. Cheers, James
