  1. Is it possible to customize the colors available when styling tags and notebooks? I'd like to be able to: Change the color swatches that are shown Select a color that isn't one of the swatches
  2. I'm really interested in the new tag style feature, and I'd like to make use of it. I use a lot of tag hierarchies, and so what I'd like to do is to assign the same style to a given tag and all of its children. For example, I'd like to make my financial tag and its children financial.receipt, financial.bill, and so on green. However, when I multi-select them and set a style, only the tag that I actually right-click on gets the selected style. If the parent only has a couple of children, that's not a problem - I can single-select each and set them individually. But when the parent has a lot of children, that's a pain. Anyone figure out a way yet to assign a style to multiple tags at once?
  3. Hello, It would be very useful to be able to have Notebook names, in Notebook tree, each with a customized color. It would allows to quickly search visually for the desired notebook, specially when you have dozens and dozens of notebooks created. Two examples in attach. Cheers, Hugo
  4. I've recently started using Evernote again, I use to hate it in the past because it was so heavy and cumbersome, but the iPad app was so impressive it got me back on, but now that I've moved all my notes to it and have several notebooks I use, I'm shocked to find that Evernote does not have any COLOR options. How is it that there's no option to pick a color for each notebook, and then whenever you look at a note there is a hint to that color to help me quickly recognize which notebook it belongs to. It will make Evernote so much more appealing and it's something that almost every other organization app has. Where can we add this to the suggestions box?
  5. I just got started with Evernote and am really struggling with both how boring it looks and how much more difficult the blah interface makes it to use. Am I missing something? I've looked everywhere for ways to customize the colors on my screen or be able to add personal aspects, or to be able to organize things using color cues that match my memory and thoughts about how I group different aspects of my life. I have been using Trello, but wanted to change to Evernote because it seemed more flexible. However, I just don't know if I can live in this gray world, and I don't know how anyone can remember or find things only using word tags without any kind of color organization. All of my Trello boards were different colors, and I found a way to add photos to each list I made so that the photos looked like headers and stayed visible at the top of each list to keep my page vibrant and also to provide me with instant visual cues of what to click on, where to add things, where to see things. Don't get me wrong -- I'm a writer and editor, and text is fantastic. But I'm also in my fifties and getting a little visually challenged, not into gray/black/white, and definitely into things that look sparkling and alive. If something is going to take up real estate on my screen, it needs to look warm and inviting and pleasing and colorful and fantastic. I keep watching tutorials and reading tips and thinking -- where is that button I push to give me some....teal? Please let me know if I am missing the obvious -- I'm crossing my fingers!
  7. As one of many males w/ a red/green color blindness I find the green color of text used in the iOS app very difficult to read. It makes using the app almost impossible. Is there a way to set the color? I know this is the Evernote "green" but usability should be considered as well.
  8. Hi All, Is it possible to change the display colour of notes in the note list when in card view, so you can easily see catagories? For example, you have card view up to use as a dashboard, showing the contents of one notebook. Blue cards are for marketing, pink cards are for accounts, and yellow cards are for R&D, all displayed in the one pane. I would like something like this to organise my day. Also, can the size of the preview cards be changed? Cheers, Sara
  9. Prior to my Evernote update today on my Mac OS X, my notebook grid display was the same on all devices (Windows, IOS & Mac) with a brown wood-like color for notebooks on a beige background. Evernote updated today. My notebook grid now has slightly darkened grey over light grey. All color is washed out. What happened? Visually, it's a step backwards. Does anyone know of a way to correct/select/adjust? Thanks
  10. All my notes are now on plain white background. What happened? How can I formate my note backgrounds? Thank you!
  11. Hello everyone... I've been using Evernote for years but have never needed the Table feature until now, and I am running into a few issues. 1. How do I change the background color for cells? According to Help, there should be a Table Properties dialog box under the Add Table menu, but it is not there for me in Mac nor web versions. 2. Am I really limited to using only a handful of fonts? 3. When I copy/paste email addresses or urls, they remain blue underlined no matter what I do to remove their formatting. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  12. Hi I have a feature request that seems incredibly obvious to me and am quite shocked its not included already. The ability to highlight and change font color from a mobile device is very important to almost all forms of note taking and I am very sure all Evernote mobile users would greatly appreciate this option. It is already implemented in the desktop suite but not on the mobile side. It couldn't be to incredibly difficult to carry his feature over to mobile devices. This is my primary desire for mobile editing of notes, but because the mobile apps do not currently support this, Evernote is essentially limited to a note viewer and I must use desktop portals to create and edit notes with highlights and modified font colors.
  13. Hey, Evernote. Mads from Denmark. Any idea when an update will give us the ability to change font color on the iPad version? Thanks for a great product! /Mads
  14. The washed out color scheme in the new version of Evernote is awful. I can barely see the navigation bars and the lack of color between the panes make them difficult to distinguish. Prior version was much better.
  15. Feature Request: As I get older iPhone fonts get smaller! I love Evernote and have been a user for many years. BUT --- the fonts on iPhone at the home screen, menus, etc. need to be customizable for (1) size (sm, med, lg); (2) color (black, white). Nothing complicated - just some choices. BTW, there are other great apps that handle this very well. The user has to make trade offs - but that's life! Thx Mike
  16. While I have used both for some time now there are a few reasons I couldn't fully commit to Evernote. This mostly centered around the fact that function seemed to trump beauty and flow in the Evernote experience. Don't get me wrong Evernote is a great app but the interface is most definitely pedestrian and uninspired...boring. Now that Evernote has basically swallowed up most of us Springpad users, why not take the opportunity to absorb why we liked Springpad in the first place? There is a central and very important aspect of our interactions in our environments every day...and that is the aspect of Beauty. Color, texture, movement, light, dark, shape, depth etc all play into beauty. And while beauty can be subjective, there are common aspects and truth in the subjectivity. Why not add the flexible usage of color to Evernote, beyond the mind numbing and uninspiring GREEN and BROWN and shades of grey interface? I think that the simple addition of user definable colorization of notebooks and or the UI will make for a more satisfying experience. Springpad had something Evernote has seemed to have overlooked or just outright ignored; and that is a design/beauty aspect to the app. Call it a Feng Shui. I for one would love to see some integration of what made SpringPad enjoyable to use into our Evernote experience. Just a thought!
  17. I recently started using Skitch for the iPad for work purposes, and it's rather unprofessional to use big pink text if I'm circling things etc. Could we get a way to set the default color so I don't have to change it every time I do something?
  18. Dear Devs, I have been using Evernote for almost 1 year. I really love the application. One thing I think the application is missing and other application has is the color labeling that highlights the note title or colors the corner or the background of the thumbnail view. My another favorite app Papers has such feature. One occasion this feature can be very useful is that I store all my research papers in Evernote, I want to use different color to identify which one is read and which one is unread. I believe the effort for implementing such feature should be trivial Best,
  19. The encryption feature for text within notes is great but I'd like to make two suggestions to improve it on both PC and iOS. On the PC (and other platforms I imagine) there seems to be no way to change the encryption passphrase on text already entered and encrypted. The iPhone has a way of removing encryption but there doesn't seem to be an easy way of doing the same on the PC app. Can we have an option to 'remove encryption' if you highlight either the text or some of it? A bigger bugbear is that in iOS, encrypted text, which is actually black, is shown in grey with a light green background, making it very hard to read. Could we have another way of showing that text is encrypted, either in the settings, or instead of the light green background. The way of surrounding text with a box as on the PC is better, or how about a green vertical line to the left of the text with a padlock symbol? And certainly please keep black text black. Otherwise, thanks for a great app.
  20. I know that Evernote is designed around the use of tags as your means to search through notes or notebooks, but I like to use notebook stacks as a way to keep notes seperated within a notebook. And obviously at this moment a user managing their own business notebooks can create a stack of business notebooks but this is where the problem comes in. My first problem is color. When I create a business stack, it doesn't keep its grey color, it changes to brown which is the color of our personal notebooks AND arranges it alphbetically with my personal notebooks and not my business notebooks. This is extremely annoying, and currently my only way to overcome this is to add a prefix to all my business stacks to help keep them organized together...this sucks. My second problem is sharing stacked notebooks to the business library. With the above mentioned idea of creating business stacks to help better manage notes, we would also like to publish this to the library. Because our notes/notebooks/stacks need to be accessed to every potential user within the company it would be very important for us to have organized stacks with appropriately labeled notebooks within. To give you an idea of our business environment, we are a Residential General Contractor. We would LIKE to impliment Evernote as a way for Project Managers, Site Supervisors, as well as office admin and upper level management to stay in sync with project folders as well as company documents. Currently we use Dropbox as a way to access our files but I personally feel that Evernote creates a more elegant way of storing documents as well as a more intuitive way to search, create, edit, delete, manage any and all content. However, I can't present my case until I can proove it and stand behind its capabilites. So over the last 6 or more months I have been using Evernote exclusively as a way to manage project's but because of these few limitations I have restrained from trying to impliment it company wide. So help me out, hopefully this can become part of the future releases. I love all the changes that have been made to Evernote thus far, lets make this another to cheer about!
  21. Hi, on the Mac I can open up the color panel by hitting Shift + command + C but then the focus isn't on the new color window that pops up so I still have to use my mouse to select a color. This goes with the font window shortcut command + T. Is there a way I can focus on that window so I can continue to use the keyboard to select a color and font instead of using my mouse? Lastly, say I use a certain font, font size and color a lot. Can I set a predetermined key combination that will do all that? Instead of everytime using the mouse to select the right font configurations? Thanks!
  22. Hello, it would be great if you could add a visible priority colour mark to each note (green, yellow, orange, red....) so that whilst scrolling a long list of notes you can immediately see what note is more urgent.....etc.
  23. First… I love Evernote and use it a lot on both my Mac, Ipad and Iphone…. ;o) However I find it a bit silly with a totally monochrome interface. I know… don't shout at me… those that thinks all is perfect can have an option in the settings to turn this off… keep their cool sunglasses on to totally eliminate colours from the interface and stay in their wonderful monochrome world. But I would love be able to to mark a note or a notebook with a coloured background to enhance the special meaning of it for me. Best regards! Bengt
  24. I would like to use a black or other dark Firefox theme but when I do that the clipper and clearly icons disappear. I thought at first that they were greyed out to indicate that I wasn't logged in, but when I checked I was logged in. I found this discussion about the icon color in Chrome. Is there any way to change the icon in FF?
  25. OK, this may be a little weird, but here goes: Although I've experimented with various 'task management' systems, I don't really like them - they need me to manage things their way, and it just isn't my way! I like Evernote very much - it's flexible, and it doesn't impose a way of working on me. One thing I do is use Evernote to manage tasks in simple ways, like listing a summary of 'Current Work in Progress' items on one note where I can easily overview them all, and edit them any way I like. When I've done something, I don't like to delete it straight away. Instead I like to change its colour to grey. This reduces its visual level, so things I still have to do are now more visible, but it still allows me see these items for when I am reviewing what I have done recently. Later, grey items get deleted entirely. OK here's the feature request. It would be great to be able to select some text and label its color as 'fading ink' - which means it will hang around for a specified time period from the point of labelling (eg a week) but become progressively more like the background colour until it is removed (after approval?) at the end of the specified time. As an idea this maybe seems to fly slightly in the face of the name 'EverNote', (more like ForAWhileNote!) But I think it would be a nice way to help with prioritising stuff. It's like deletion, just a little slower. ie 'Fading ink' is making (some) digital notes more like an extension of human memory, which is able to allow some things to ebb away in order to help us to prioritise what we need to know now.
