  1. Hi Folks - We've just released version 7.2 of Clipper on Chrome. You can download the latest Clipper from the Chrome Web Store here. This release: Re-introduces keyboard shortcut functionality previously available in Clipper 6. If you don't use these yet, it's worth checking out in Options as it makes Clipping even faster. We've addressed a number of bugs. Some key ones to call out are: Clipping gets stuck after pressing Enter key on Screenshot capture dialog Show full tag name popup when mouse cursor over on tag name. Unable to add tags while tag is added in Always tag with option Some pages not working well when Clipper is installed (see https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/112731-evernote-web-clipper-leaking-into-application-code/) Options: Added tag in "Always tag with" is incorrectly displayed Amazon: Missing product description on preview for some products Search for notebook is no longer case sensitive Clipper 7 launches 'https://evernote.com/?firstlaunch' on its own on Chrome Messages window appears when clipping LinkedIn articles Auto-complete tags based on terms within the tag We've also improved performance - you should now see the Clipper load more quickly Please let us know if you have any feedback on version 7.2 and any requests for our next update. Thanks, Chantal and the rest of the Clipper Team
  2. When using the new clipper, I'll add a few tags to a note. Then, I'll want to save the page. The shortcut used to be "cmd+enter", which worked from wherever you were. The new shortcut, however, is "enter". So I'll often hit "tab", then hit enter, which will delete a tag instead! This is because if you press tab, you're now focused on a tag, even though there's no visual indication of this. You'll then hit enter, deleting the tag, then hit enter again, saving it without the tag! Obviously there are a few issues here: 1. Need to visually highlight the tag you're currently on, to make it more visually obvious that pressing enter will delete the tag. 2. Need some way to save an article even while you're in the "tag adding" field. Thanks!
  3. I used my webclipper (windows 10 desktop / Chrome) and it suddenly started saving the same clips 10 to 15 times each. I don't know how to stop this. And now I already used my monthly limit with yet 17 days to go. I'm not happy. How can I solve this?
  4. I was using evernote quite happily to clip out images I needed for my trip planner. I would right click on any image and the context menu would pop up for "clip image." I would clip and and would send to my inbox folder. Now when I right click on an image my only options are 1. Clip full page, 2. Clip bookmark, or 3. Clip screenshot. What happened to Clip Image? I haven't changed any settings knowingly. I am using version 7.0.0.293
  5. In Web Clipper options I have selected: "Automatically close clipper." I have deselected: "Show successful clip dialog without Related notes." Still, on every clip the clipper shows me supposedly 'Related Notes' for a few seconds before closing automatically. How can I get rid of that feature? For me it is useless and annoying.
  6. I know that Web clipper supports Google for suggestions from Evernote when searching the web, but I was wondering if it supports other search engines as DuckDuckGo. I recently switched to it due to privacy concerns, and I wish I could have that convenience of searching evernote too while doing web searches from DuckDuckGo
  7. Is the FBI blocking me? Or is it the Russians? The clipper won't work on this Politico site, but it works fine on other sites.
  8. Hi evernote-folks, Super-gratitude for all your efforts providing such an amazing service : ) Challenge: I just wiped out 1/5 of my monthly storage allocation saving a post : ( Surely as clipper bundles up the info to send it knows the size prior to sending. Hence it'd be awesome if at the very least it would provide an "ok" dialog for "large" saves to notes. Preferably "large" could be defined in the preferences. Alternatively the size could be provided as pre-save-feedback on the clipper generally. Thanks again! ck P.s. I did indeed scan for this feature as surely it's not a unique request, but * alas * I didn't see it . . .
  9. I am unable to clip a PDF file when viewing it in Firefox. I doesnt matter if I select, Clip, Bookmark, or Screenshot. Nothing happens when I click Save. Tried sending to both Web and Desktop versions of Evernote. Tried disabling Webroot since it has interfered with other programs in the past. I do use NoScript but I allowed all scripts to run on that page. Uninstalled and re-installed Clipper. I cant think of anything else to try. Clipper seems to work fine with 'normal' web pages for me. Just something with the PDF files. I was hoping to save the time of downloading them and then moving to Evernote. Using Windows 7 and Firefox 38.0.5 Thanks for the assistance.
  10. I think the clipper updated recently in Chrome and in the settings I can't find the shortcut option anymore..... used to be a box where you could select which shortcut key activated the clipper. Has this option gone forever?
  11. Good day, this feature request is so users can create tags from an iPad/iPhone's Evernote "iOS web clipper". If on an iPad/iPhone only a user's existing tags can be applied. The "no tags selected" input field does not permit keyboard entry. iOS screen pdf attached. Also very small video link supplied. This is greatly needed so clippings may be tagged at the time of creation. Evernote's iOS extension is missing the ability to create new customized tags for "clipped" items. Selecting the "tag field" should allow me to type a new tag. Just when I select the "tag zone" it does not accept input, you'll get moved to your existing tag list. Some things in the existing list might be desirable, but what if a relevant tag needs to be created? I've created a video (no download needed) which can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/etagios0105 For example: I do not have the tag "Cheese" in my current Evernote tags list. When trying to input Cheese, selecting the tag field removes the keyboard and takes me to my current list. Once at this list, there is no way to create a new "Cheese" tag. For Reference... 12. 我的 web clipper 总是访问 yinxiang.com,导致无法登录。如何修改让他访问 evernote.com?
  13. Recently Evernote has added a "Evernote" notebook that my clipper saves notes to by default. I then am unable to move or copy this clipped note to any other notebook. I have tried deleting evernote and clipper and reloading and this wont fix the issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks!
  14. I've always used article or fullpage as the mode when clipping linkedin profiles because linkedin mode drops some information. However the profile images are always chopped off, i dont really mind that, but I couldn't add the profile image in manually either. Tried converting the note to a pdf, thereafter I could add the image manually but, the pdf has it's content chopped off. So I'm out of ideas on how to clip linkedin profiles with all the information.
  15. Hi Is anyone experiencing the following issue with the latest version of web clipper for Chrome? "It seems the web clipper app doesn't function properly. Screenshots do not capture correctly, showing only part of the image I try to capture. They also appear really poor in quality." Re-install did not help. Is this a know issue to which there is a fix? Thank you!
16. An exciting and much requested new feature for Evernote iOS is our new clipping capabilities with iOS 8! To set up you phone or tablet to clip web pages and share app content to Evernote: Sharing Button To add Evernote to the list of sharing options on your device, first tap the iOS sharing button, then follow these steps: Tap the iOS sharing button, then tap More to edit your sharing options. Tap the Evernote switch to add Evernote as a sharing extension and tap Done. Evernote appears in the list of apps your device can share to; Tap and drag Evernote if you'd like to move it to the front of the list. How do I clip and share web pages and content from other supported apps to Evernote? To save or share a web page, audio recording, photo, or any other content on your phone, follow these steps: Open the browser or app you’d like to share content from Tap the iOS sharing button (Chrome: Tap the menu options button on your device and tap the share Evernote option) Tap Evernote Once you've tapped Save, the web page or app content is clipped and shared to Evernote in the background. You have the option of selecting a notebook to save the clipped note to in Evernote. If you do not see Evernote as one of your sharing options, swipe through your apps until you see Evernote. You can tap and drag the Evernote app to the left so you don’t need to scroll to the end of the list. If you don’t see Evernote, make sure you’ve already added Evernote as a sharing extension. Clipping capabilities are available for Safari, Chrome, and other browsers that use the native sharing functionality and give you the option to share. (Note: To share on Chrome, tap three lines, then tap Share…) Learn more about clipping web pages on your mobile device in this Evernote Knowledge Base article https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/23193638
  17. Is it possible to clip a page when in Firefox Reader View. The normal web clipper works great 80% of the time only giving me the info I want but some articles have adds in the middle of the page and the clipper copys that as well while in Firefox reader view it eliminates all of that but I am unable to clip the page thoughts?
  18. I've been reading that Google is considering phasing out the Gmail interface and pushing everyone to Google Inbox. I've been going back and forth between Gmail and Inbox. I've been trying to force myself to use Inbox more, and with the new feature in the Calendar app on Android to create reminders that show up in Inbox and in the Calendar app on my phone (and eventually the web), I'm seeing a need to use that side of Gmail more. However, the Web Clipper doesn't seem to know how to clip individual emails from Inbox. Is this something that will be fixed any time soon?
  19. Hello, The formatting for "Simplified article" clipping is messed up and stores the grey background and styling of the preview view. Previously, it would keep the styling simple and have a white background. For now, I've switched to Firefox since it's not updated yet.
  20. Hi, I think that it would be great that the search notebook function in the web clipper could be case insensitive because I'm pretty sure that most people just start typing the name of the notebook without taking care if they named it with an initial capital letter. What do you think about this?
  21. With the web clipper extension enabled, pages from the Boto3 website can take a very long time to load. For example, this page takes close to 2 minutes on a corporate network: http://boto3.readthedocs.io/en/latest/reference/services/dynamodb.html The offending request is: Request URL:https://readthedocs.org/api/v2/footer_html/?callback=jQuery20305196791010642672_1526398462898&project=boto3&version=latest&page=reference%2Fservices%2Fdynamodb&theme=guzzle_sphinx_theme&format=jsonp&docroot=%2Fdocs%2Fsource%2F&source_suffix=.rst&_=1526398462899 Request Method:GET Status Code:200 OK Remote Address:162.209.114.75:443 Referrer Policy:no-referrer-when-downgrade I narrowed it down by first disabling all extensions and then enabling extensions one at a time until I found Web Clipper to be the problem. All pages on this site are impacted, but the degree appears to correspond with the size of the page. I really haven't a clue what the other site is doing...I imagine a lot of changes to the DOM that result in some rescan of the page by Web Clipper.
  22. Currently, there is a feature to 'save searches' which allows you to find notes quickly and easily when you know what you're looking for. I find that this same type of feature would be useful when applied to web clippings. When I’m going through articles on Chrome, I clip a lot of articles that I want to further research or read later. Problem is I have to file, tag, and note each one individually. What if I could save certain 'Clip Identities' so that my internet clippings could be pulled and filed much more efficiently? For example, I could clip an article using a saved "Read Later" identity and it would automatically be filed in X notebook with A, B, and C tags. I could then go on to save many more articles with the same settings. The way clippings are now, I have to file and add tags every time I clip an article. When you run through 20-30 articles every morning, this can be a major obstacle to efficiency. Maybe this feature already exists and I don't know about it? Anyone else who would find this helpful?
  23. I am using the IE11 web clipper plugin on an windows 7 environment. Unfortionally the simplified article function doesn't work on this site. Businessinsider.com is working fine. Would really like it if it could be fixed. website url: businessinsider.nl article url: https://www.businessinsider.nl/winst-abn-amro-krijgt-tik-bank-zet-extra-geld-opzij-voor-kredietstroppen-in-offshore-en-scheepaart/ browser: IE 11 error log: 05/14/2018 10:27:37:0391 Warning: Invoke AllowSetForegroundWindow failed
  24. Why does Evernote's Webclipper insist on showing me Related Notes with each clip? The options are: [] Show successful clip dialog [] Show successful clip dialog without Related notes [] Automatically close Clipper I have selected the last option, but see Related Notes anyway. I do not want to select one of the other options, because I also do not want to see a successful clip dialog.
  25. I used Evernote Web Clipper. I also use Any.Do for task management. My Any.do web interface doesn't work anymore, and it redirects me to another site. The support team for Any.do said the latest upgrade of Evernote Web Clipper is what is interfering and causing Any.do web not to work. So I'd appreciate if that can be fixed. I have to say I was taken by surprise by the new Evernote Web Clipper and didn 't realize I'd have to change all my settings again.
