  1. The evernote web clipper should have a feature to check if a website has been clipped from before. This will prevent having multiple notes for the same clipped web article, in case i forget and clip the same article after some time creating a duplicate note.
  2. For example, currently clipping a list like item 1 item 2 item 3 from item 2, would save a note like item 2 item 3 But it would be nice if the clipper could instead save item 2 item 3 Where the first item starts with number 2. This can be achieved with the start attribute on the ordered list (ol) element. (Worth bearing in mind there are probably lists on the web, where the start attribute is already set, and the list starts at item 1290...)
  3. I am trying to install Evernote WebClipper for Safari, but everywhere I try to access it from the Evernote site (for example here) leads me to this page. Can this broken link please be fixed? Many thanks
  4. The Web Clipper does not work. I have tried all sorts of methods, but I can not. Please tell me how Link up. http://bluei91147.blog.me/221090399690
  5. Notes I create using web clipper in chrome have a tag already assigned to them. I want to eliminate this apparent "auto tagging." This started a week ago. I discovered one forum post on this issue that was closed though contained a link to a supposed solution, but that turned out to be simply the support page. Searching endlessly produced no answer, though I noticed requests for having the ability to auto tag notes. Well, it seems that EN already has it, but I can't figure out where to turn it off. Ideas welcome.
  6. Installed Web Clipper but can't log on. When asked to enter my username, the log in box disappears as soon as I've finishing typing. It disappears from the screen before I've had chance to input my password or hit sign in. I'm running OS X 10.11.3 and Chrome 49. I've tried removing Web Clipper and adding again. Any thoughts as to what else I might try?
  7. I searched for this, but didn't find it. But please let me know if it's a duplicate. I'm looking to see if I can use Evernote more, possibly replacing some other tools that I use often. One is Papers, a Mac app that handles academic papers really well. One key thing that Papers does that Evernote doesn't is to apply smart content extraction for sites that host academic papers. For example, if I import a URL like: https://arxiv.org/abs/1702.08835 in Papers, it will: 1. Title the note with the title of the paper ("Deep Forest: Towards An Alternative to Deep Neural Networks", in this case) 2. Set the author and date appropriately 3. Set other citation information as appropriate, so that it can easily generate a bibliography later. 4. Download and attach the PDF of the paper itself. It can do this because arxiv.org is a very popular site for hosting academic research, so it can apply some simple rules based on the layout of the site when importing the paper. Now, actually being able to generate bibliographies would be a bigger feature request within the Evernote app itself, I assume. Less important for me right now, although I'm sure other academics would love it. But #1, 2, and 4 would be fantastic. #4 is the key one for me: I want to be able to hit "clip" on that page, and have Evernote download the PDF and attach it. I can work around it right now by opening the PDF itself and clipping that, but then I don't get any of the context information: title, author, citation, etc. Evernote just saves it with the title of "PDF - arxiv.org" and an attachment named "1702.08835.pdf", which is the actual filename but is opaque and useless. I have to copy the title from the HTML page, then click through to the PDF, clip to Evernote, and then manually rename the note that I clipped, every time. Since I might do this 20 times in a row as I go through a bibliography, this gets really tedious. Even moreso if I try to capture author information, date, etc. It's a lot of steps that could be easily automated. That's one of the simple things that makes apps like Papers, Zotero or Mendeley so attractive for academics, instead of Evernote. Similarly, I could clip the HTML page and then manually download and attach the PDF, but that's just as tedious, and also a lot of steps that could be easily automated. For the time being, I'll just keep using Papers, because it's an easy workflow that works really well. But I'd like to be able to use Evernote for this. Especially because I'd like to migrate off of Macs in the future, and Evernote is cross-platform. And since it seems to already have some context-dependent extraction logic for other sites (linkedin, facebook, ...) it seems like this would be feasible to add....
  8. latest version of Mac OS, Safari and Evernote web clipper. Web clipper doesn't work. Goes to login page, but even after login still doesn't work. There is a black dot beneath the elephant icon. I would suggest fixing this!
  9. Hi, The web clipper is not working on my Mac with Safari. This problem has been on and off for a week or so, but now it is permanent. I uninstalled it and then installed it again. It doesn't work. Web clipper is enabled under the Preferences/ Extensions. Is there anyone else who is having this problem? Thanks!
  10. I have had the problem with the red dot for 6 months. I have most recent Firefox (6.12.1.1) and have tried various clipper add ons . The clipper has a red dot. At beginning of session I click on it. It asks for google user name and pword which I enter. Then pop up closes. But nothing else happens and red dot still there. If I try again it it momentarily opens then closes. I have to use the old 6.9.3 for it to work again. Even then it stops working as soon as I later close the browser and reopen it. I have turned off all add ons (except clipper) in case of some clash. It is most frustrating and renders clipper unworkable.
  11. Hi, I am running MAC OSX 10.9.2 and Safari 7.0.2 and Evernote 5.5.0 Up until now the web clipper has worked great for me, but in the last couple of weeks it stopped. I just get the circle of circles interminably. I uninstalled the web clipper, re-downloaded and re-installed. I re-installed evernote and I just tried the beta version of the web clipper. I haven't had it work on any of the blogs I follow (it worked fine on each of these previously), a few are posted below: http://festivefriday.blogspot.com/2014/03/festive-friday-27-ffc27.html http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2014/03/just-add-ink-206-sale-brations.html http://jamielanedesigns.blogspot.com/2014/03/good-luck-print-and-cut-tutorial.html Up until now I have been very satisfied with the web clipper, but this is one of the huge areas of info that I use Evernote to capture so if this continues to be a problem, it will be very frustrating. Regards, Holly
  12. TL;DR Recently the webclipper fails to find notes, even when the search phrase appears verbatim in their title. DETAILS The webclipper "related notes" feature is to me one of the biggest advantages of Evernote. Recently however, it usually fails to find anything. As mentioned in [this older thread], it will not show up at all if it cannot find anything, which caused me to think the feature were broken entirely. The suggested solution of using a different search-URL didn't help. REPRODUCIBLE EXAMPLE (POSSIBLY) For example, I have a note called “Rust vs Go / Golang”. If I search Google for “Rust vs Go”, no results are shown. If I search Google for “Rust vs Go / Golang”, the note shows up as expected. Plus some additional results, where “rust” and “go” but not “golang” or “vs” appear in the body of the note, but have no relation to the programming languages – which is funny, since the search for “Rust vs Go” would have matched these notes better than the search for “Rust vs Go / Golang”. For reference, I first had titled the note “Rust vs Go/GoLang” (no spaces around slash) and then renamed it “Rust vs Go / GoLang”, thinking that maybe the search-algorithm fails to treat “Go/GoLang” as two words. This change had no impact at all on the behaviour.
  13. I am using Web Clipper 6.10.2 with Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m in Windows 7 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601. Web Clipper gets slower each time I clip from Gmail. Eventually, after a lot of emails, the Clipper gets slow enough that Chrome starts to ask me if I want to wait for the program to respond. The increase in the delay seems to be linear with the number of emails I have clipped. Shutting down Chrome completely and restarting resets the delay. I assume it's some kind of memory leak?
  14. The clipper is working fine for me, clipping and syncing articles perfectly. EXCEPT - Every single time I clip a page, my browser jumps back to that tab to show an error message saying: "The Clipper couldn't start on this page. Reload the page and try again. If that doesn't help, contact customer support." I have no idea why it shows this because in fact the Clipper always does start on every page! Anyone else having the same problem?
  15. …when only one account is in use by the user. Otherwise, takes up far too much space that could be better used to display the title of the clipped note.
  16. Hi, I'm using Web Clipper on a Chromebook and noticed that the source link being recorded by Evernote is wrong. For instance, if I attempt to capture page: http://www.analog.com/en/corporate/content/index.html The page is captured fine in Evernote, but the source link is recorded as: http://www.analog.com/en/content//fca.html Any suggestions?
  17. On my new win 10 machine with Outlook 13 Evernote Outlook clipper is blocked (see attached), as it caused Outlook to start slowly. I recommend to address the problem.
  18. Hello All, Sorry if this has already been posted, I searched a bit but didn't see anything. I would love a full-page screen capture, AKA capture entire page, in the Evernote web clipper for Chrome. Much like how you could capture full page urls in Skitch. Thanks!
  19. I find it weird that sharing to Evernote from Android Chrome just makes a bookmark. It is possible to get the whole page clipped via the Pocket app. In Chrome: Add to Pocket -> in Pocket: share to Evernote. Pagsles get clipped without pictures but with links to sources at the bottom. Can we have proper web clipping for Android Chrome without 3rd party apps? Or maybe it is possible to save entire page already? Thanks
  20. hello everbody...the plug-in is in english...how can I change to chinese tradicional ? thanks.
  21. I am a web developer and am constantly in the console troubleshooting things. It drive me CRAZY that the web clipper ships with a ton of console errors that come up on every webpage. Please fix it.
  22. Hello, After the last update of Firefox for macOs, Evernote Web Clipper stopped working. Firefox 55.0.3 (64-bit) Evernote Web Clipper 6.12.1.1 Thanks, great work.
  23. I want to highight my text in web clipper (specifically Firefox) but I can't seem to do it. Even with the Evernote shortcuts of CMD CTL H, that is not available. Or CMD OPTN I. Any thoughts? Highlight would be huge for me.
  24. Evernote and web clipper are great products. The least reliable aspect of web clipper is capturing the article's publication date when capturing a "simplified article." I only get dates in like 50% of my captures, which is a real nuisance. Please fix this.
