  1. Suggestion: When you click the clipper icon: The Orgainze section: dropdown of the notebooks. You should add a option flag somewhere that would allow 1) sorted by name (as it seems to be now) or 2) Sort by last used, or at least show the last X number used. I know this is an option, but it requires yet another click to a page, and exit to change the default behavior... Why not make this easily accessible on the page itself. It would be great if there were a button on that page , something like the "tag" button, that would "Last Notebook". Often the research on a subject belongs to a common notebook, the syntax guessing is good, some of the time, but often it is out of sync w the actual work of the moment... If you really wanted to go crazy and make it even more useful You could allow a selection of a Notebook Stack as a default set, and then have the dropdown be the notebooks within that stack. If you really wanted to go crazy, you could have this be a dropdown of all the Stacks, including one option to clear so all the notebooks are shown more or less as it is now.
  2. On this page: http://mashable.com/2016/12/11/trump-queen-photoshops-terrifying/#.n7pRtTSNmqH No matter how I try to clip the page, either "whole page" or "article", it's not saving the photos. I find myself always having to verify the page in evernote web everytime I save something, because I don't trust this tool to capture the actual page. Is this a known problem?
  3. Hi I don't know if anyone can help. I have not uninstalled ever note, but I can no longer find the program on my PC. There is an Icon, but no program, and when i click on the Icon for Ever note in my apps it says a newer version of Ever note is already running. There is no ever note program listed in my programs but whenever I click on remain Icon it says a new version is running, but it is not. I didn't uninstall it so I am not sure what has happened. When I log into my ever note account in the cloud, the data is still there. Questions How to best install ever note do I just override the messages (if i can ) which say an later version is running? More worryingly will I loose any of the data from the cloud When I install a new version will I be able to sinc it to the data in the cloud. Sorry to ask so many questions but I have been using for several years and a bit concerned the program has disappeared I would like to install again but don't want to loose the data. Any ideas please- thanks very much
  4. I don't know why but the web clipper can't clip linkedin pages anymore. I've tried several and they can be clipped. I chrome I get the same result. Any ideas?
  5. Hello Evernote pals! First post here. Pretty happy Premium user. Experiencing a few issues with Web Clipper. In roughly descending order of importance (to me of course :-) ) tl;dr: In 2017, I need <1s clip speed, near-perfect page parsing (preferably using the *already locally parsed and downloaded content*), and no changes in scroll position of the page should *ever* happen when I click the Clip button. 1. Speed. Clipper needs to be fast and it just isn't. RIght now Pinboard and Pocket are absolutely blowing it out of the water on Firefox on a reasonably quick 2014 rMBP with 8 GB RAM. Pocket may have some advantages due to being "built in" with native code, but as far as I can tell both services are hitting backend servers to do the actual clipping and saving (of course, please correct me if I'm wrong - and that brings its own issues - see #2 below). In any case, I consider the Clipper's speed to be so poor as to be a usability bug. Since I started playing with Pocket recently, clicking on the elephant and waiting for that slow, lumbering spinner of doom while it loads up whatever and talks to whatever is something I have begun to dread. This is too bad since Evernote is quickly becoming my "system of record" / "external brain", as it has for many others here I'd imagine. The performance issue is especially difficult to tolerate as a user given that it's a paid service, and the output of the clips is not always outstanding (and in some cases quite poor actually - see #2 below). 2. Clip Quality. Clipper doesn't do a *great* job with a lot of web pages. I've done a bit of a "bake off" with Pocket and also the Mercury Chrome extension, and found Clipper to be left somewhat wanting - esp. considering that it's attached to a paid product. In a few cases it just barfs on a page that Pocket or Mercury can parse and display just fine. More to the point, I've deduced that it must talk to a backend server that does the actual fetching and parsing, since I've clipped a page on a site that I'm viewing just fine in my browser (e.g. a NYT page), only to go to my Evernote later and find that it clipped the partial page with the "you've hit 10 articles" or whatever warning, making the clip effectively useless. And there's no way to know that a clip "went bad" except by checking my Evernote compulsively, which is ... kind of defeating the point of computers. This is especially annoying considering that I've already downloaded the content locally, with access to the entire page and all images, etc., only to have the article clip extremely poorly because (apparently?) the client is not actually driving the clipping, but some backend service. 3. One Really Serious UX issue: When I clip a page, it jumps back up to the top of the page from where I am. Especially when I'm partway through a long article, this is *extremely* disorienting because I lose my place. Nothing software does should change the user's position on a page, or jump the UI around in a janky way without the user's input.. Evernote PMs, I don't know if y'all are reading these forums, but: please think about prioritizing the Clipper. I use Evernote in large part because I want an external brain where I save things I read on the web. If it isn't "a darn near perfect clip, in less than a second, every single time", it's making me think about its existence, in which case it's not necessarily solving a problem for me but creating one. I would *love* to be delighted by the Clipper instead of ranging from the best-case "it's OK I guess, but I dread clicking because it's going to hang for 3 seconds and possibly lose my place in the article" to the worse "why doesn't this work as well as Pocket, it didn't clip my page correctly at all, nooooo". I love Evernote. It's very very good, and I want it to be amazing. I know y'all are working hard and have a lot of various codebases to maintain, and probably not enough people to do it all to the level you'd like. So I'll close by saying: thanks for your hard work, and thanks for listening.
  6. What is the keyboard shortcut for the Evernote Web Clipper extension in Mavericks Safari? For example, the 1 Password extension opens with the keyboard shortcut command-\ I use the Evernote extension even more often than I use the 1 Password extension, so it is a pain to mouse all the way up and over to the extension's button. Please consider this a feature request if there is not currently a keyboard shortcut. Thanks!
  7. Web clipper no longer works. It prompts me to login. I do it as usual. The window opens and closes and nothing happens. The dot on the clipper icon remains in the tool bar, and web clipper does not work. I am using OS 10.11.6, Safari 11.0 and Web Clipper 6.12.4. Please help! Thanks. /C
  8. How do I add just the "video" to an existing note from the TED website without downloading the video?
  9. I frequently browse my subscriptions, add to my Watch Later, and finally watch my saved list. If I want to remember something, I clip to Evernote. The new YouTube interface has been up for a while now—couple of weeks—and I hate it as much as the next user. This morning was the first time since the change that I tried to web clip. It's broken. Five weeks ago, I saved my most recent working YouTube clip. When you click the link, you should see the format including title, URL, publisher, image, description, etc. This morning, the option to save a YouTube clip is gone. I decided that best option was to save a broken bookmark clip. I realized that the title and links are correct; however, the description is from another video in my list, and the image is from an altogether different video in my list. That's not going to work. Is this happening to you, too? What's the best workaround for the interim? When will this be fixed?
  10. Dear Evernote, I miss Clearly's highlighting while you are reading a web page so much. It saved me so much time being able to basically make notes the first time I read a page, rather than after I have read it and found it to be "Evernoteworthy". Especially helpful when wanting to highlight helpful comments that are found underneath hidden in the muck of the rest. I lost it in my Win 10 upgrade and it pains me daily. Please bring that ability to web clipper.
  11. How to represent the issue: Open Chrome+Web Clipper extension. Open Twitter site. Scroll the page very fast and feel the lag. Disable the extension redo the procedures and feel the fast scroll.
  12. Howdy all, I use the forward slash, "/", in my tags to express hierarchy, e.g. Design/Furniture/Chairs. When I attempt to type a "/" in the clipper (6.13) for Firefox, it does not accept the character. Also, "`" does not invoke clipper. Any ideas as to a fix or workaround? ```
  13. I use web clipper to just read online articles and sometimes markup and save. I wish I could set the clipper fonts to a larger size [top priority] (check out Readability 's extension). Possibly a preferred font type, and possibly color options... but size is critical... If there is a way to do this, sorry but I can't figure it out... Thanks Casey Chrome Win 8
  14. I'm at my wits end with the web clipper plugin refusing to remember my login in Chrome on OSX. I read all the archived posts about the issue and tried changing my time & date settings from Apple's servers to "time.nist.gov", as others had mentioned it to be a fix, but nothing changed. I am still logged out every time I close and re-open the browser. I have never seen this working in any version of the Chrome extension, and it's getting to be really frustrating.
  15. PLEASE add the option to prevent the redundant popup window that appears after we have clipped an email. I posted a jpg showing the three steps that must currently be taken to clip an email - it should be shorter/easier and more customizable. For me, the purpose of the email clipper is to clip/save an email into a certain folder for quick and easy action/follow up/review at a later date. At present, there are three steps (which isn't exactly quick or streamlined): Clip the "save to Evernote" button in the top toolbar (I'm using Outlook 2016/Office 365 on Windows 7 Pro for reference). - See Image/Step #1 in gif. Select/approve the notebook to save the clip to, with the option to add tags or remarks. - See image/Step #2 in gif. (THIS IS WHERE THE PROCESS SHOULD END.) Then we get a third/unwanted step when yet another window pops up. To close it, we have to pause our process/flow to close the window. Sounds nit picky, and it is, but I want the option to disable or skip this step altogether. - See image/Step #3 in gif. Please see the attached gif if my request is not clear. Fellow users - PLEASE take a second to VOTE on this. The more votes it gets, the more likely they are to add this feature. Thanks!
  16. I can't say when this started. When I right-click on a web page, I see Evernote Web Clipper. When I click on it all of the options are greyed out and cannot be selected.
  17. I love using clipper and I am working on doing more with it to reference todo items back to the emails they came from. However, the "Open Conversation in Gmail" link that clipper creates does not open properly when I click it from my Samsung S5 and open it in any of my mobile browsers (Chrome, Firefox, LastPass, Samsung Default) the link fails. I think this has something with the "u/" portion of the address. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/--------------- Has anyone figured this out? I am glad it works on my laptop, but that is really limiting me to this one option when I could also be working on my phone or tablet. Thanks.
  18. Why are web-clipped pages often squeezed into a box with a narrow width? It prevents you from seeing the full width and from reading text, unless you go to the bottom of the note and use the horizontal scroll bar. Is there a setting that can change this? If this problem and a workaround to it is explained anywhere, please post a link.
  19. I've been pulling my hair out for the past couple of weeks with a performance problem on my Mac. After only a few minutes browsing, the process "Safari Web Content" starts to consume all my memory - eventually leaving an 8GB machine with 7MB (not a typo) and the bulk of what's used is gobbled up by Safari Web Content. The attached screenshot shows how my memory ends up. I've tried multiple things - re-loading OSX (Mountain Lion), killing Safari .plist files, clearing chase etc. Finally (I perhaps should have done this earlier) I disabled my extensions (one for LastPass and one for EN) and guess what? Running without the EN Web Clipper extension, I can visit a string of "busy' (i.e. high graphics) websites and each new site only adds 10-20MB to the Safari Web Content process. Running with the extension causes huge amounts of space to be allocated to the SWC process. Bouncing through, say - The Guardian, Huffington Post, Telegraph, Independent, Amazon, various ESPN pages, Pitchfork and a few others all in order: With the EN extension off - a few hundred MB end up allocated With the EN extension on - it gets over 3GB. 3GB!!! The problem does appear to be with the EN web clipper. Has anyone else seen this? Are there any config or .plist files I can delete, or do I have to run without the clipper going forward? Any input welcome. Ian
  20. I am using Evernote 6.7.5.5825 (Fresh Install on a new laptop running Windows 10 with Outlook 2013) I have tried reinstalling Evernote multiple times but getting the same issue: InvalidCastException occured while trying to clip this item. This is usually caused by incorrect Outlook installation or previous version remains. Try to repair your Outlook installation or contact Evernote Support. 21. My web clipper hasn't been working for over a month now. It has a red dot on the icon, and when I try to click on it, a window appears and vanishes instantly. This is happening in Windows 10, although I've had Windows 10 for over a year. It's happening at both my home and work computers (both of which have Windows 10), and in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but that hasn't helped.
  22. I'm using the Evernote Clipper to save web content from a subscription that I have access to for a 30-day free trial. Just wondering whether anyone knows if I'll still be able to view the notes I've made from this source once my subscription runs out?
  23. I've installed the Web Clipper extension for Chrome but the icon is not visible. When I go to manage extensions, it shows that it is installed and enabled. How do I get the icon to show in the toolbar?

  25. I lost my Evernote Clipper in Chrome. When I re-installed it several times, it has "lost" my connection to Evernote, i.e., it acts as if I never used the clipper and has none of my notebooks listed, etc. It looks like it might have me signed in differently... don't know how to check my log-in with Clipper to re-coordinate and retrieve my correct Clipper account. Please help! Thank you... My e-mail is: rma@robertmadler.biz.
