  1. Any chance of getting this back. If space was an issue, I suggest the clip type be icons or a dropdown list rather than a simple list... or let the user decide.
  2. After installing Evernote v 7.0.3 on April 1, 2018, I noticed that Web Clipper no longer shows the text-entry field to type in a comment below selecting tags (see screen snap attached). I removed and reloaded Web Clipper but that didn't help. This is happening for both Mac and PC versions of Web Clipper. It looks like the text is larger, perhaps pushing the comment field off the bottom of the Clipper dialog box? This would seem to be a major (hopefully accidental) interface change. I'm surprised others haven't reported it here. Or is it just me? Really hoping it wasn't on purpose. Thanks!
  3. I am now going to leave Evernote due to the removal of features in WebClipper 7.x. As a premium user for years, I am super pissed. Who is the total idiot who is the product manager for the WebClipper team? They should be fired for incompetence.
  4. I'm new to evernote, and I'm confused. The official explanation for how to use web clipper on an Android mobile device makes no sense. Here it is: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313678-How-to-clip-web-pages-and-content-from-Android-and-iOS-devices It says, "To clip a web page from your browser, simply tap the options menu button on your device (for example, '...') and select Evernote". Um, what? When it says "options menu button" does it mean the options button in my browser? (The device would be the actual phone.) If so, then there's no "Evernote" menu in my browser's options menu. Obviously. Since they're separate apps. What other "options menu button" is it talking about? The only thing that seems to make sense is I tap my browser's option button and then select "Share" and then "Add to Evernote". Is THIS what I'm supposed to do? Thanks!
  5. I just noticed that the ability to take a note while on the web clip is missing on new version. This is an important function that I used a lot. Please bring it back. Sometimes the delay of having to go over the app in the real world is enough that the note is then "diluted" in it's value. Instead, if the note feature is right there while the clip is being done then there's the ability to make observations with the data at hand. Please bring this feature back ASAP.
  6. It appears the interface for the screen capture has changed a great deal on the new version. This is a feature I use literally multiple times per day. The apparent inability to easily do a full screen capture is either a misinterpretation on my part (meaning perhaps I don't understand the new version well enough yet) or a feature that will be sorely missed. This was a key feature of the clipper. If it is much more difficult or impossible to do now, this tool has degraded in value. Please consider bringing back the feature that would easily allow a user to either do full screen clip or a range with ease, and it used to be yesterday.
  7. Hi, The web clipper apparently upgraded, and suddenly the tag search is no longer performing a "fuzzy" search. That means that if I have a tag like "p- name", and I search for "name", I don't find the tag. This is an incredibly useful feature for me, as I organize all my tags using prefixes, trusting the fact that searching for the tags will ignore the prefixes. This update makes my usage much harder. Is this intended? A bug? Am I missing something? Thanks! Edan
  8. Hi all, I have seen the question "How can I clip a PDF file to evernote" raised in the forum already several times, but so far, there has not been a satisfying answer, but only astonishingly clumsy workarounds. (for example: http://discussion.ev...on-pdf-windows/ http://discussion.ev...m-web-answered/ http://discussion.ev...document-to-en/ ) Neither saving the pdf as a temporary file and then dragging&dropping it to evernote nor saving it to some import-directory & then importing it seems accebtable to me, because in both cases, you will lose the original source path information which is a real deal-breaker. Let's summarize it: 1.) Save pdf to a temporary file 2.) Start file explorer, Locate the temporary-folder and drag file to evernote [which means locating the evernote window (which might be buried behind the newly opened file explorer or the internet explorer showing the pdf) first] 3.) Switch back to internet explorer (find its window, which by now might be buried by evernote or the file explorer) 4.) Mark the url in the adress bar, Ctrl-C 5.) Switch back to evernote (which might be buried by the internet explorer again) 6.) Allocate the new note, locate the source-path-control. 7.) Ctrl-V Why not instead offer one of those smart 1-click-solutions evernote is famous for? Just a nice Option "Save Link (to pdf) to evernote" in the context menu and all is done? Does not sound like too much effort to implement? Is it?
  9. Hey, where are the options "create new notebook", "refresh list" and also the "Find a notebook" searching bar on the Chrome Web Clipper for Mac? I just installed it and it is not within the drop-down button under Organize.
  10. Hi everyone, I am having some headaches with the new version of evernote web clipper on chrome, clipping in Gmail, appart from not having the search notebook anymore (already documented in a thread), I found that I am not able anymore to clip just attachments from a conversation. Before I was able to unselect all emails and it would show me all the attachments in the thread, I could then leave it like this or just leave selected the attachments I wanted to clip. This was useful because sometimes I have long threads of conversation where new attachments keep arriving, I was able to rapidly clip only the new attachments or the new messages + attachments or even just the new messages to clip. After last update I can't do it anymore, first the attachments show inside each email (leaving me not knowing exactly how many attachments I have in that thread), so if I unmark an email in a thread, I will not have access anymore to the attachment, appart from the PITA of having to check every single message to see if there's an attachment inside. Is there any possibility to roll back to a previous version of Web Clipper? Thank you in advance, Hugo
  11. We all know that it is a struggle to modify a webpage sent to evernote using the clipper. Most pages begin with huge fonts and finding a way to enter a note above that, with text only and maybe a horizontal line to easily distinguish our notes from the clipped page is a struggle. The beauty of Web Clipper is that it includes the "Remarks" box that allows us to do just that: anything typed in that box displays at the top of the clipped webpage, giving us a nice area to add our own notes - and it has the horizontal line to boot. I often forget to include something in the remarks box, or I'm in rush. It would be great if I could set the clipper to always include something in that box, like "My Notes:" so that every page I clip has that editable area at the top that I could expand on when I have the time. Come to think of it it would be great to also include something like that when we "share to Evernote" on our Android phones.
  12. Gmail clipping seems broken both on FireFox && Google Chrome. Once clipper is clicked, you get an error message saying 'undefined'. Please fix this asap.
  13. I have been using the Web Clipper on a Windows 7 PC with Chrome and Gmail for years. In the past two years, the following features have ceased to work: 1) Formatting 2) Clipping many emails (the clipper gets slower and slower each time I clip an email) 3) Can't clip an email after pressing the "View sent message" button 4) Shortcut keys no longer work I have posted topics about these issues, but never had a response. And now, with this newest version, I can no longer select a notebook by clicking the notebook drop-down and start typing the name of the notebook. Now I have to scroll down to find the notebook I want and click on it, which takes 10x longer. So my question is, what's up? Why keep breaking the web clipper? Every time a new version is released, nothing is fixed and another feature doesn't work. I'll take the one from 2 years ago that worked great.
  14. I just found a note I clipped in December - the title then was "40 Team Collaboration Tools To Check Out Right Now". Sadly when I opened the 8.7MB note it had only a title and one very large grey block inside it. Interestingly, if I clicked in the grey area, I got a slideshow of the images in that clip. Opened the same note in a browser - same grey block. Attempting to edit the note locked up my system, so I deleted it. Went back to re-clip, and it turns out the number of tools has gone down to 37. Also however I tried, the only clip I could get was a grey block. Article / simplified article / selection - all gave me the block. It's a long page, so I used Firefox's built-in screenshot tool to copy the whole thing. Firefox crashed without saving the pic. One of the illustrations was a recording, so I tried to copy part of the page without that graphic. Grey block. Also tried printing the page to PDF - Adobe crashed... something tells me I should go to bed. Don't know whether the page size, content or my browser of choice is the issue here (didn't try in another browser yet...) but for interest, have a look at https://www.scoro.com/blog/team-collaboration-tools-list/
  15. The Google Chrome Clipper page mentions all of the Skitch (RIP) tools on it's page, but it's AWOL when actually clipping something. Is this a new development?
  16. I have 4 of my different webmail email accounts (yahoo/gmail/outlook etc) setup on my MS Outlook (2016) desktop client. So rather than login in to all accounts via a webbrowser, they all come in to the one place/one app...great. From time-to-time I save certain emails over to EN, and to do this I simply use the EN webclipper addon that I added to Outlook a long time ago...however as of today that EN webclipper simply vanished!? Note: I didnt do any updates or the overnight Note: I'm using Windows Home 64bit OS Anybody know anything about this, what might have happened and how to fix???? Interestingly, the EN webclipper icon still/ONLY appears on the ribbon when using/accessing/viewing my Outlook email account, one of the 4 mentioned above. Yet gone when accesing the other email accounts!! weird Cheers Rick
  17. I work on a 2016 MacBook Pro with MacOS High Sierra and Safari Version 11.0.3. Noticed this morning that web clipper is no longer doing its thing. Get spinning wheel on trying to clip a selection or whole email page. Need to restart gmail page to remove the wheel. Clicking on elephant icon leads me to having to log in again. Reinstalled web clipper, removed cache/cookies/history, force quit Safari and restarted, all to no avail. Help? It worked so nicely until recently (currently premium user).
  18. Web clipper of previous version was not working at all, used to show the message of 'clip failed'. But the new or updated version is clipping well like the second last or third last versions of Evernote. But the only problem I'm facing now is that the format of clipping is already too simple and complicated. The text and every data including heading, sub headings, body, etc all are coming in same line and not aligned at all, making it very difficult to read and manage the note. In order to maintain the note I have to edit it and manage everything myself, unlike second and third last versions where the page on web which I used to clip, gets saved as it is, including the page color. There only drawback was that sometimes the whole text or table contents were not totally viewable but after Simplifying formatting the contents are viewable but alignment was bizzare. *Evernote should have this facility of clipping the web page as it is, while keeping the full content including tables and charts as it is, if any, in alignment. Without Simplifying the formatting. I hope that Evernote team read my post and take my suggestion. So that all Evernote users including me can have a better experience on Evernote than ever before. For example, the link of web page I clipped is mentioned below https://www.draparajita.com/medicines/homeopathic-remedies-for-fungal-infections/97/ And how it clipped that I'm attaching a portion of the clip as screenshot. Please go through it.

  20. Why Webclipper cannot have same features as Skitch? Especially after clipping with Skitch can move the clipped item on a specific place in a note/email/word. This I consider as very fundamental and don't understand why Web clipper still cannot do that.
  21. When I try to capture emails or images in google chrome windowed apps like gmail, it is not possible for 2 reasons: 1- I don't have the evernote extension button available due to windowed gmail 2- throw the context menu it is not possible to initiate the evernote capture extension the same way it should happen when you press the elephant button. ... it also not possible to start the capture extension throw keyboard shortcuts. I kindly request evernote 2 situations: 1. to start the capture extension throw the right click context menu (in onenote extension this is possible) 2. when I capture images/favorites or other kind of content throw the right click context menu to be possible to choose notebook of destinations as well as add tags Thank you for your time
  22. Opening the same PDF on Dropbox on Chrome -> we clipper works and I can take screenshots Opening the same PDF (saved to local) on Chrome -> cannot open web clipper Really? ... Are there any fixes for this? I bought the premium so I could do things like this without having to install third party programs. Slightly frustrating.
  23. Hello, I've been using Android clipper perfectly for a long time. I've just migrated from Samsung S8 to Samsung Note 8 and the Android clipper just stopped working. It is now always showing Clip Failed icon and Clip Again function does not help at all. The only difference I noticed between the two platforms is the minor version of Android which is 7.0 in S8 and 7.1.1 in Note 8. Evernote has exactly the same version in both phones. The problem is not website sensitive, it fails regardless of the source. Any clues? Regards, Eduardo
  24. Everybody, I am looking for old automated process to automatically clip via the Evernote extension every single webpage I browse. Would like to do this in the background if possible. I have attached a link to a piece of software that does something similar but not with Evernote. http://www.proxy-offline-browser.com https://github.com/ludios/grab-site I know it sounds crazy but I frequently need to access previously archived webpages of sites that I have visited and it is cumbersome for me to clip each page manually.
  25. I'd really like an easy way to swap style sheets before clipping. I'm seeing a lot of websites where all the clutter goes away and the exact content I'd like to clip is shown in the print view. Check this page in normal chrome view vs. print preview or dev tools / emulation / css media : print http://www.mccormick.com/Recipes/Dessert/Easy-Lemon-Mousse If there's no easy way to communicate to the lay operator what these stylesheet options mean, maybe the clipper could use the print view to figure out where the important bits of the page are.
