  1. When using the web clipper extension on Chrome, I've noticed that if I do anything else on my computer after I click "save" in the clipper, the box goes away and it effectively cancels the clip. Is this by design? Sometimes it takes a few seconds to clip a page, and it's a bit annoying not to be able to switch to another application while it completes in the background. Is there a way around this?
  2. Am using Evernote 4.0.0.106602 on Firefox (actually Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101126 Firefox/4.0b8pre). Webclipper is failing. Now, you might say the above Firefox level is unsupported. Fair enough but the Firefox Error Consols suggests the problem isn't with Firefox: Error: conten is not defined Source File: chrome://webclipper3-common/content/libs/evernote/overlay.js Line: 27 In lines 26 to 28 we have: if (typeof content.console != 'undefined') { console = conten.console; } else { which COULD be corruption of the extension but looks like a typo. I'm also not sure the test in line 26 is the compactest. :-) Someone please corroborate / investigate. Thanks, Martin
  3. I have discovered that, when using Chrome clipper (Mac), if I click on anything while the rather long-running sync window is actively syncing, the sync doesn't happen. This can mean, clicking on the page I am syncing, another window, a tab, another app, or on anything at all. I have to wait and do nothing while the entire sync process occurs. If this is how it works, I think that needs to be addressed. I worked for about an hour, only to discover that I had about 5 percent of the pages I had clipped.
  4. I've been using the new Chrome clipper a lot recently and love the 'view all notes' tab function. 90% of the time I use Evernote for Windows and rarely use Evernote online. It's not very useful then for me that clicking on a note on the Chrome clipper tab takes me through to Evernote online. Would it be possible to link the Chrome clipper with the Windows client so that clicking on a note takes me to that note in the Windows client?
  5. I have been using the EverNote extension for Chrome (I'm using it in SRWare Iron), generally without problem; great utility. Every now and again, though, it seems to get stuck on the last web page I clipped to EN. That is, when I am viewing a new web page (same tab or different tab) and click the Clip to EverNote button, the title is that of the last page I clipped. Any suggestions for how to fix this would be appreciated...
  6. Did a quick browse to see if this was addressed, but whenever I use the clipper for Chrome, when the little window pops up it always has the information for the last page I clipped - not the one I'm currently on (and want to clip). I have to press "discard" and then open the clipper again to clear out the old info and get the new info on there. Am I doing something wrong, or is it supposed to do this? Thanks.
  7. If I have a txt file in notepad in windows. If I select all and copy it, go into Evernote using the Chrome browser, create a new note, and Paste there is no Carriage Return Line Feeds. It's just continuous text. If I use Evernote in IE 8 and paste it works fine! Am I doing something wrong? Doug
  8. I expect this has been asked before but I could not find anything using search - point me at the right place if it has. I prefer using Chrome as my browser on Mac but the Evernote clipper does not clip directly to the local version of Evernote, only to the web one. Is there any way to change this behaviour or is it a Chrome restriction or just something waiting to be done? Thanks, Tony.
  9. Just installed latest stable Chrome and Evernote Clipper for Chrome. https://chrome.google.com/extensions/de ... nefbikjilc Used Win+A prior to installing the Clipper to keep track of my setup steps. Anticipated a better experience once I actually got EN's Chrome Clipper installed. Not. e.g. Trying to clip the info for the above link results in "this page is constructed such that it cannot be clipped". A quick scan of the comments for the extension show other users reporting the same problem.
  10. I asked this question in the Mac forum but I thought maybe it was better suited for the Web portion of the Forum. I would love to hear from Evernote. I would like to use the Web Clip extension and features with Chrome and I was given pause by it's first question. It want's access to "my entire web history" and "data to all my websites"!? Sounds a bit much. I don't mind the web history to much but the data on all my websites? Will this clip app then have access or record all my various account logins and passwords? Will it log all my credit card and purchase info? I would love to use the web clipping feature but if it has that much access I will have to sadly pass. Please let me know.
  11. When I clip a whole page with the Chrome extension, it looks beautiful - exactly as I see it. When I clip a whole page with the Firefox plugin, it looks CSS-less - quite ugly. The page? One on evernote.com ;-) Specifically, the "Mobile" tab on : http://www.evernote.com/about/integration/
  12. I clipped two different pages to Evernote in Chrome using the extension about 20 minutes ago. They have not appeared in my account yet. Does it take longer or is there a problem with the extension? Thanks, Andy
  13. Sometimes, I want to record some snippets into the ONE note when I browser some web pages which are all relative about a same topic. But evernote clipper will create a new note every time, that will generate more notes. How to edit the same note when I use clipper? Thanks.
  14. Please revert the 'Clip Full Page' checkbox to the old behavior, or (even better) provide a user preference in Evernote as to the 'default state' of this checkbox. It's really important to at least one paying user (who also happens to evangelize his work-flow to everyone he meets..) I have been (very happily!) using a combination of the Readability and Evernote Chrome extensions (with a 'ReadItLater!' Evernote default folder) to have sort of an 'interesting article archival bliss'. I love this combination because: 1 - Readability formats things in a way that looks great in Evernote. 2 - Evernote keeps the backlink, so I have can return to source if available. 3 - Evernote keeps a copy of the text, so if the article goes down I still have it. 4 - Evernote keeps a copy of the text, so I can do full text searches on articles I haven't even really read yet!. Sometimes when this works it feels like I am reading articles from the future. Or in another form, this is 'Just In Time' reading. 5 - Evernote web clipper gives me that 'Add Text' field, useful for adding links to content discussions (ie from Reddit/HN/etc) 6 - Marking something was a 2 click operation Lo and behold, new Evernote Chrome extension is pushed today and changes the default of 'Clip Full Page' checkbox to be unchecked. While I understand the reason for this change (I upgraded to a payed Evernote account entirely due to my web-clippings taking up too much space), it totally messes up with my normal usage flow. And believe me, this flow is really important to me. It is basically the entire purpose of Evernote for me, but it has filled this niche for me magnificently! Thanks, love the product~
  15. Is there an ways way to clip an article that spans webpages into a single note? When using Firefox, I used to have an extension that would basically load all the different pages into one webpage. Then, I could clip all of it into one note. Now that I am using Google Chrome, I haven't found an extension to do the same thing. So, I have to bring up page 1 of the article, highlight and clip. Then go to page 2. If I highlight and clip, it goes into a separate note. I then have to go into EN (Windows client or web) and copy the second note to the first.... Hopefully there is a faster / easier way to do this.
  16. I have been using the web clipper bookmarklet with great success on most pages I want to clip. However, one class of web pages--mostly the "print" versions of articles on British newspaper web sites--stubbornly resist. Launching the bookmarklet brings up the "web clip" window, but it is (and remains indefinitely) completely blank. For example, http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/jan/24/martin-amis-euthanasia-booths-alzheimers will web clip without problems. The linked printable version (without all the extraneous, unrelated content) http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/jan/24/martin-amis-euthanasia-booths-alzheimers/print will exhibit the error described above. This error is 100% reproducible on most (or all?) articles on most (or all?) major British newspaper websites, using both Google Chrome 4.0 and Internet Explor 7.0. Is this a known problem? Is there a known fix? Thanks for any pointers.
  17. Could anyone just tell me what plus should be added and how to appear the right-click list add to evernote。in the chrome right click mouse, there is no an option “add to evernote” in the right-click list。It meansthat if I use chrome I must copy what I want to the evernote for save。
  18. I guess I'm the first. I took a quick spin around and seems Evernote has held up reasonably. Thought for sure the text editor would fall apart, but it seems ok. Would love to see the clipper work for Chrome as soon as possible. Didn't realize how much I use it.
