  1. Hi all. The company I work with just implemented Evernote for Business. I am able to access their Evernote through mine. I've been trying to create a Notebook for everyone (that should display in the Library), but all I seem to be doing is adding things to *my* own "business" notebook. I am not an admin. As the Content Manager, I am trying to create a notebook that will contain all of our content (new and past), and I don't want to create it in my notebook and then copy it over. Surely, there is a way to do this. I tried to find this topic via search and was unable to find an answer. My apologies if this is a redundant question/topic. Also, (Mac & PC user here), why can't I see the Library? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Sherree
  2. Please tell me the difference between premium and business accounts. Currently, we will have only 2 users but we do have a lot of notebooks; one for each function/business
  3. I notice there are several apps within the trunk that you can addon to your Evernote. Anyone integrating these with their business? If so, which ones have you found to be noteworthy and revolutionary for your business? I'm constantly looking for new ways to streamline process's and make my business more efficient. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Hi What exactly is Evernote business 2.0 supposed to do, I have installed it on my windows machine and don't see anything different. I have noticed that if I do a search that at the bottom of the screen there is a note to say the search result there are "x" number of notes related in the business notebooks with a link that says "see results". If I click on that it takes me to the business library but does not show the results or highlight which business notes the search is related to, so basically what's the point? I don't see it.
  5. Hey folks! This is my first topic submission on the Evernote Discussion Forums. I'm very excited to have found this space to engage with other users! As many of you probably did, I recently attended EC3 in SF. This really gave me a strong sense of the increasing domination of Evernote in the world of productivity. Reflecting on my experience, I just completed a blog post on why I think this is the case. If you're interested, check it out here: http://actualizingself.com/2013/10/06/evernote-set-to-take-over-world-of-productivity/ What does everyone else think? I'd be curious to hear other's thoughts on who if there are any other companies out there giving Evernote a run for their money. Chris
  6. Hi all, I've been experimenting with Evernote Business for a few weeks now and have decided it's not for me. However, I'm having some difficulty in determining the best course of action to revert back to using just my personal account. When I signed up I upgraded my personal account to a business account and then converted a few notebooks from personal to business notebooks. I haven't been able to figure out how to convert them back, but I figured if I just created a new personal notebook and then moved all of the notes from the business one to the new personal one that would take care of that part. But, then should I 'Leave the notebook' once I'm done? And how do I deactivate just my business account? I see an option in settings on the web to deactivate, but that looks like it's my entire account (both personal and business). Thanks, Mark
  7. I´m trying to email myself most of my business email to my EN Business account in order to archive and process it there. I used the email forwarding to my EN account without problems, but with Business I cannot seem to find the email to send them to. If I send them to my regular EN account, they get into my "Inbox" in my personal account. Since this are Business related notes, I want them to get to my "Business Inbox". I cannot seem to have the ability to make a "default notebook" in my Business Notebooks, nor do I seem to have a different email to send things there. Even worse, when I send them using the "@" for automatically moving to that Notebook, It doesn´t recognize the notebook if it´s in the Business side of Evernote and it get again clumped in my Personal Inbox. This way I have to manually sort every note and move them to my Business Inbox. This doesn´t make any sense. Please let me know how can i solve this, because as far as I´ve tested it, paying for Evernote Premium and using it for work is much better than paying for Business Account. Thanks! R
  8. Hi, I've been using EN for since 2010 but from a work point of view I am wondering if it could help solve a problem. We receive about 40,000 PDF invoices each year from our suppliers by email and these are currently stored in Public Folders on our Exchange Server but we now want to make these searchable (i.e. data inside). We've tried SharePoint Foundation 2010 but we just can't get it to index PDF's. Would moving these to EN be feasible idea ? As I just love the way EN search works, we would be able to find information inside these invoices so easily and we could make some good work-flows based on incoming email to EN with tags etc.. Most of our suppliers email batches of invoices in one email so we wouldn't end up with 40,000 notes per year, probably around 10,000 notes per year with most containing multiple PDF's. I am not sure this is what EN is designed for and maybe I should continue my quest and have a look at Google Drive. Thanks BigJoe
  9. Hi! I've got something strange here, and it's even weirder that nobody else raised it. I'm running the latest prerelease of Evernote on Windows XP. Thing is: Links (not external links, only the evernote://-links) do neither work for co-workers nor on other platforms, like Android. Maybe it's only me. Could you guys do me a favour and try the following? In a business notebook, create a simple note. Sync. Copy the notes' link to the clipboard (right-click, "copy note link", not "share -> copy url ...") Create a second note within the same notebook and paste the link. Sync. Now ask a co-worker to click on that link. Does it work? Here, it does NOT work on Windows and Web. As well, the link seems broken on Android (logged in as the user who created the notes). On the iPad, it works. Didn't try to switch user there ... Web looks like this: Windows looks like this: You can also send the link to another EB user via e-mail or IM, same result. Could you please do me a favour and try to reproduce this step? I opened a ticket (see title), but it seems I'm the only one having this issue. Thanks in advance! André
  10. Hello - So I've been trying to figure this out on my own and figured that I would like to ask the experts their thoughts! Situation: Real Estate agent has too many buyers and is leveraging her team to help them show client's housesProperties that they see are in a PDFNeed to use app that will allow clients to take notes etc. on PDF Sync the app with Evernote for team leader to review likes, dislikes, etc. I've looked at a couple of the apps out there that work well, but they all seem to have 1 shortcoming or another. In addition to the situation outlined above it would be excellent to be able to do the following: Select which notebook the PDF will sync to when exported from App (i.e. sync to a particular client's name) - could be done with tags too.Would allow other people to add notes to the files in evernoteThanks in advance for all the help! (attached is the PDF that we would be annotating) Cloud Buyer Tour w. Notes (short).pdf
  11. https://www.womeninfocus.com.au/docs/DOC-2822 Here is my final article for the Women in Focus website, looking at my favourite apps from Evernote Trunk. These are often ones I recommend for my Tech Coach HQ clients and work really well for mobile solutions. Would love feedback.
  12. I simply want to have several notebooks that me and my assistant collaborate on --- For instance I use GM's numerical system for ordering notes with a journal/schedule - but I want her to be able to add calls, todo's etc to my daily journal or future ones. Also a marketing notebook that I can add a project to, then she can use to gather info on it ... I bought two seats for business, then I realized that maybe just sharing a regular notebook would work for that - ie Joined Notebook. So, what would having these notebooks "Business" notebooks benefit or add?
  13. Hi everyone. I posted a while ago regarding a searching by tag issue I had encountered in Evernote Business and was very pleased with the helpful response I received, so thanks again and I have come back! This is a much more general topic - please excuse me in some parts, I am not overly techie! So, a bit of background: I work for a medium sized business with a sizeable picture library (I'm talking 20,000 pictures at a guess). We currently store all our pictures as jpeg files on Windows, in a structured folder system. This works well if you know exactly what picture you are after and where it is stored, but less well/terribly if you don't as there is no way to search. The result is a very inefficient, time-consuming trawl through the picture library to locate the file. We have recently begun trialling Evernote as a Digital Asset Management system to hopefully enable us to store our pictures in notes and tag them appropriately so they are easy to locate. We have uploaded a small portion (500 pictures) and assigned relevant tags and we are very happy with how much easier Evernote makes the searching process. Pictures would be uploaded in one central business library by the administrator (myself) and then shared out to around 50 users who can then search and use the pictures. However, we have come across some potential issues, and I would like to get some second opinions on whether or not Evernote is the right programme for us to use before I upload thousands of images. Please note that for the most part I am after opinions and understand that definite answers may not be possible until we actually put it into practice - I know this Our first problem is with stacks. I was keen to arrange pictures in stacks that resembled the current folder system we have, with the tags providing a secondary, more powerful search function. After trialling it myself and reading this forum, though, I know that stacks can only go one stack deep and then cannot be shared to other users. Have people found this too limiting? Will one notebook with 20,000 separate notes in cause us problems - will it be slow to load or sync, and do you think 20,000 pictures in one library would be difficult to navigate? Secondly, as images are uploaded into Evernote, we insert them in to the note and then when we wish to use them, we seem to have to save them back as a file on to the computer itself to then use it how we wish. Do you think this is an impractical use of Evernote, and in this sense is it more suited for personal photo storage rather than corporate use? I am concerned that staff will get fed up of re-saving their most used photos on to their desktop and will just keep them there, bypassing the Evernote system. Thirdly, have people encountered problems with employees being able to alter notebook names on their own account? Has anyone else used Evernote similarly, as a Digital Asset Management system? What were your experiences/thoughts? Apologies for some of the poor explanations, please ask if anything needs clarifying. Thanks very much!! Sarah.
  14. I just tried to set up Evernote for my family of four and was told that sponsored groups have been replaced by Evernote Business. I don't know about anyone else, but my family does not need $40/month worth of business accounts. •Premium plan is for individuals •Business plan is for businesses •NO PLAN for groups/families? Why did you let an advancement (like EnB), turn into a regression? I don't need to administer four separate accounts... for my 2 children, my wife and myself. Nor do I want any of us to have to deal with the restrictions of the free plan. My children are homeschooled and will need offline notes. Their iPod Touches and iPads aren't always connected to wifi, I cant rely on a persistent connection for them to complete school work I should have been able to assign through an Evernote group account. Even if I did set up four separate premium accounts with four separate billing plans, I still can't receive the discount that was available for groups of 3 or more. So now I have to pay $20/month for four people, or $180/year. There is no way my kids are going to use $90 to $120 worth of note organizing every year. I wish I had opened a sponsored group account in November of 2012, when I first learned about them (before the creation of their carnivorous EnB plans). Bring back sponsored groups, Evernote! Please!!!
  15. Hello all, Am checking out the EN Business HD video to get a feel for what it can offer. Would anyone have a checkbox feature comparison between the Premium and Business versions? thanks, MIke
  16. Hi, I have a premium account of Evernote in which I have everything I need to remember. I used it for personal and professional needs. I used it at home only because I don't want to have all my personal stuff inside my business computer. In order to use it at work, I created a free account and I shared my professional notebooks with my free account. Occasionally, I'm limited by free accounts limitations. It's a little bit frustrating as I have a premium account. I could use TrueCrypt based solutions to have my whole account protected on my business computer but I'm not a big fan of that kind of solution as I change regularly the computer and it implies to authenticate every morning. I prefer to have only my business stuff locally. Is there a way to handle this situation without buying a new premium access ? Maybe by linking my premium and free accounts ? Maybe by allowing partial synchronization of my premium account ? Thanks.
  17. I've already discovered that tags in your personal database are really different than those in the business database, even though they have the same name. Today I merged a business note with a personal note (selected personal note first) and the tags all duplicated in the note header. So, if my tags were 1, 2, 3, 4 in both notes, in the new merged note, the tags were: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4. I deleted them all pronto because I've had enough support issues since EnB came out with tags and errors, and just manually repopulated them 1, 2, 3, 4.
  18. Hi, We are using Evernote as a photo filing system and tagging photos so staff can easily search through our library. However, when I search for some tags, for example "gate", although the search does show up all the photos tagged as "gate" as expected, it also shows up a photo not tagged as "gate". This note also does not have "gate" written anywhere in the title or in the note itself, so I do not understand why this is happening. Can anyone shed some light as to what might be going on? Thanks.
  19. ANyone know how to create a filter to only search business notebooks? I can select "Business Notebooks" and do a search, but when I save it, it only saves the search query, not the fact taht I am also only in the "Business Notebooks" section that has 4 business notebooks being searched.
  20. I've just uploaded a bunch of articles I had saved to Dropbox into a shared Evernote Business notebook. I've attempted to tag them with multiple tags, but only the first tag is "sticking". Any ideas?
  21. Over the years I've accumulated quite a few "business" notes in my Evernote. Now, of course, I'd like to drag those into the new business section. However, I can't drag/move in either the Windows or web version. Is this intentional for some reason, a bug, or a feature coming later?
  22. Hi Everyone, Our company needs a central place to add and update hotfixes for our computer program. Basically we all need to be able to login at the same time and add new fixes or workarounds or update each others notes. We take phone calls for support on our software, so all having access to fixes and workarounds would be great. Evernote seems to do what we want, however we're not entirely sure which version we need, business or premium? What restrictions would we face just sticking with the basic free edition at present and all login using the same credentials? I look forward to your replies, pretty keen to get using this.
  23. Would it be possible to add user names to business billings? As we add users, I get $10 billings that just have info like order number 293874123470 which is not helpful. We have users in different departments, so each department gets billed for its users. I'd even like to add a GL code to our user name so when the invoice comes out, it is ready to print and send to the AP department. A lot of companies (phone companies, couriers, etc.) allow you to add billing codes to purchases so invoices are precoded.
  24. If a user encrypts content in a business note, can the admin decrypt that content? Since users can password protect Office documents today, this is a current problem, but it would be nice if Evernote Business didn't have the same problem with note content. If EB admins can't do this now, I would like to submit it as a feature request. Thanks.
  25. Have migrated to Evernote Business, and my Blackberry can only see my personal notes. How do I get access to Business Notes ?
