  1. This has been going in since August when I expressed my desire to be removed from Evernote APAC/ SEA team's e-mail list. Should I mention the names of the 'specialists' who keeps sending me e-mails? I created a ticket with Evernote.com; they said I should uncheck the communication preferences from my profile settings - which I have!!! I created 2 more tickets following the continuous assault since August, Evernote.com has chosen to ignore my tickets. I don't know how things work in America. But in Hong Kong, sending unsolicited e-mails and ignoring the person's unsubscribe request is a serious breach of the communications protection framework. The reason why I don't want Evernote sales people to talk to us is because: 1. The Evernote APAC team conducts seminars in Chinese (Our team of mostly expats don't read/ speak fluently). 2. The Evernote system/ sharing methods doesn't work with in our corporate environment. 3. Evernote Business has refused to offer us some trial accounts back in May 2013 when we were exploring various vendors. Salesforce, Basecamp, Atlassian, and some other startups have all been able to provide some means of evaluation. 4. Our current solution is working really well, I don't foresee us changing platforms for the next 3 years, we signed SLAs with your competitors. We've written all our staff guides and training materials already. The content of their e-mails are always the same: workshops/ seminars/ meetups/ corporate events in Hong Kong. Who do I need to speak to get myself removed??

  3. Hello Guys, I'm new to EN since a week, first premium and know i'm setting up the business-account so we can start swiftly after the holiday's. after searching the forum I still have these questions. I'm using the latest Dutch EN versions on Windows en IOS When I use the clip button "Ad To EN" in outlook 2013, and start typing in the field a "label/tag" I only get suggestions referring to my personal tags. Is it possible to get suggestions from the business labels as well? Also I Can not change the destination notebook in "the EN windows version". I will by default go back to my (standard ) personal inbox . How can I change it permanent? 3 times my IOS devices ( ipad and iPhone ) showed " evernote has stopped unexpectedly " followed by (send report) or not . These options are not selectable ( frozen) . the only thing I can do is remove the app en install again . and of course are the OS of these devices up to date. Thx for a quick response Geerts Jean-Pierre CO
  4. I have tried following the other forum requests for this. I have a PC and am using a business account. I have made a personal note and want to move it into my shared business folder. I have tried right clicking on the personal note, and get a list that doesn't have anything about moving notes. I can edit, email, print or open in a separate window. Can someone explain easily how to move them as this should be a basic feature and is very odd that someone hasn't fixed this considering its a NOTES product and if you can't move them easily it makes the product a very odd thing indeed. Makes me wish I had a paper and a pen PLEASE HELP !!!
  5. Hi all, We just released a new version of LiveMinutes (http://appcenter.evernote.com/app/liveminutes/web-apps) that allows you to collaborate on Evernote notes in realtime, like in Google Docs. As you know, when several people edit a shared note at the same time on Evernote, it creates conflicting versions. LiveMinutes solves this problem. Here is a video to show you how it works! http://youtu.be/FOxYa8NqRmc LiveMinutes allows users to collaborate on their notes in realtime, and everything is simultaneously synced back to Evernote, keeping your Evernote workflow intact. Edits made on Evernote are mirrored on LiveMinutes as well. We released this new version last week and we'd love to get your feedback! We really want to make this the best option for collaborating on your Evernote notes! You can give it a try at http://www.liveminut...s.com/evernote and let us know what you think! Alex
  6. We have a reworked educational resource for Evernote Business users, that brings together multiple resources into a single guide for those just getting started. Find it here: https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/guide/guide_business_basics/1
  7. I'm the admin for my company's EB account. We have about 20 users right now. Here are some of the problems we're having: 1) Poor discoverability of company-shared notebooks I started with a couple basic company shared notebooks. One for HR-related content, one for fun photos taken around the office. Neither of them has attracted any users to join without my prompting them. When I've asked, most folks, even heavy EN users, had no idea the notebooks existed. Is there a way to make company-wide notebooks easier to discover? 2) Can't rename notebooks globally This has already been covered elsewhere on the Forum, but just wanted to point out this has been a pain point for us. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/34123-anyone-know-how-to-rename-a-business-notebook-for-everyone/ 3) Which notebooks are shared and with whom? The left-hand sidebar list of notebooks doesn't indicate which notebooks are shared. Right now I can still memorize which are which, but I see this becoming a problem soon. I've tried to solve this by creating stacks called things like "Shared w individuals" and "Shared globally", but that feels like a hack instead of a solution. 4) Accidental note creation in shared notebooks is happening! Our CEO accidentally created a private note in his company-shared notebook. Luckily, discoverability is so low, I was the only one that noticed. He was horrified to find out and deleted his shared notebook. It's happened to me as well, especially when scanning something to Evernote, with notes flowing to whichever notebook I have open, instead of to a default notebook. 5) Activity alerts are often frustrating People love the Activity alerts that say someone added something or edited a note they care about, but are frustrated that they can't tell what exactly was changed. 6) Skitch default notebook can't be changed to an EB notebook I use Skitch a lot at work. I like to quickly take a screenshot, make some markups, and share a URL with others via email or otherwise. The problem is that the Skitch doesn't allow changing the default notebook to be Business instead of Personal. And since moving a note from personal to business destroys the shared links, I have to remember to move the Skitch before sharing, or leave the Skitch in Personal - neither of which is convenient. 7) The Mac notebook view is a mess I mainly use a PC, but occasionally a Mac. What's great about the PC EN is that the sidebar separates Personal and Business notebooks. No such convenience with Mac. It's one long list. Ugly, stressful and confusing. That's my list of gripes about EB. I love EN and sincerely hope they keep improving their product like they have over time. I just wanted to share some thoughts from a real EB user trying to make it work for my team.
  8. Pessoal Bom dia! Alguém saberia me informar? Obrigada Luciana
  9. what if joe has no spesific e-mail domain for work? i am the admin of business account and i send and invite to joe@gmail.com, and he gots message [Join Company] 1-- when filling form he types business e-mail the same joe@gmail.com 2 -- and push "upgrade and join" 3-- gots this message "We are unable to activate your business account at this time. 10. Are there resources for training with Evernote Business that are industry specific? We are using the product in a small, boutique retail store, and we want to get the most out of the product. If there is any kind of training that is directed towards the retail end of the spectrum, we would definitely be interested. Is there somewhere that gives us a number of training options? Thank you!
  11. new evernote business user here - i want to create a note but edit throughout the day -- i started it but it synced and my very rough draft went company wide. how do I avoid this in future? Thx

  13. I just installed 5.4.0.3698 and the release notes say: Here is what I have to do: Scroll down through 30-40 screens of tags that are in my business notebooks because in En5, there is no way to collapse the business tags without collapsing the personal tags to. Select the Business Notebook icon select a notebook (this does no good by the way, but it feels good to do it) Type my search term in the search box Get a post-it-note listing of notes instead of a list Realize that the post-it note listing includes the business notebooks I am subscribed to in addition to the ones I am not, which seems pointless as I can get those from my Business Notebooks section of my personal install much faster. Realize that the notes are in random order it seems. Here are the edits of the first 8 notes: 17 days ago 10 months ago 2 years ago 20 days ago 3 years ago 3 years ago 2 years ago 1 year ago Now, it returned 4,783 notes and I know darn well there are probably 100 within the last 90 days that match my search term. While the search returned a decent set of notes, it is like 4,783 sheets of paper were thrown on my floor and someone said "here you go! everything you asked for" I have no idea how many notes we have in total, but I know in 3 notebooks I do not participate in, there are 30,000+ notes and I have 5,000 notes in notebooks I do subscribe to, so it is likely safe to say 40,000 notes and the database is easily 140GB. I am assuming I am missing something major here. Like how to sort the results, limit by notebook (that I am not subscribed to by the way so not sure of the names) And once I am done with the search, how do I get back to the notebook list?
  14. We realize that the current method of displaying all notebooks together has been causing some confusion amongst some of our users. Our development team wanted to let you know that we've been listening, and to offer you a temporary solution while we evaluate all the feedback we've been getting. If you're comfortable with editing your Windows Registry, they have created a Registry Key that only affects the display of your Business notebooks. It does not do anything else to your account, nor will it change the display on any other devices you may have. This key will only affect Evernote, and nothing else on your computer. Make sure Evernote is completely closed (File->Quit) before you make this change, and that you backup your registry before making any changes. Here is an article from Microsoft explaining how to access the system Registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/136393 The entry you are looking for is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Evernote/Evernote/NavPaneBusinessNotebookStack By default, this entry has an empty Value. Whatever the value of this entry, all business notebooks that don't have a stack currently assigned will be shown under this stack name. For example, if you enter “- Business” or “ACME Corp." there, you will create a stack with that name. Note that this does not actually set the stack on those business notebooks’ objects, the grouping is only visual. No actual stack will sync to your other devices. After this has been done, you can then add business notebooks to stacks within this "virtual" stack.
  15. Hello, Likely a week ago now, I filled out the Evernote for Schools form, but I have not gotten any sort of reply. I even went a step further a few days later and used the EN Business contact form to email and find out about getting approval and trying to figure out what's taking so long. My principal does not want me to go ahead and invoice our school for $720 (6 users x $120) when we should not have any trouble being approved and only being charged $180 (6 users x $30). Please advice what I have done wrong, or if someone can confirm that my application has been received and give a time frame on when I can expect it to be reviewed. Much appreciated, Mike
  16. Hi All, I still have a problem with getting my tags to work across all platforms. I can now happily create them on Windows and Mac software. But I cannot see any 'Business' tags on the Web, Android Phone or iPad. So I am guessing this is still an issue? Any other 'Business' users out suffering the same problem? Regards Chris
  17. Hi there, I recently sought permissions from my company to download Evernote, and in the process of signing this off my bosses are wondering why I would need it – can our system not do this too?...if not, why aren't we all using it at the company?I am by no means an Evernote expert; I was simply hoping that – working in PR – it would help bring some more order to my personal output day-to-day. I am yet to find the app on my phone indispensable, and am in two minds about this: will it just be another account to manage, I wonder? In any case, I have been asked to explain what it provides that Gmail (and [internally] sharing files on the server) cannot. I was hoping for someone of worthier brain capacity than myself might be able to shed light on this: I have no idea about the usability of Evernote in my life, but would like to try it out. Any Evernote evangelists/sceptics who would like to provide some clarity for me out there? I'd be very grateful. Thank you, Ella
  18. Is there any issue with having an Evernote Business and Personal account running on one machine and sync'ing between both or indeed switching? Since I installed Business, I am having several issues. Sync, Errors when marking up using Skitch, Tag errors Crashing to name but a few...
  19. Hi there, I'm an active premium Evernote member and have enjoyed the service for many months, however I've found a missing asset on my Android device that I can't live without. I actively use my sidebar to provide convenient access to my most popular/important notes. However, I can't replicate the sidebar on my Android device, on the home screen. So my question comes in two: Can I replicated my sidebar on my Android ( Samsung S4)? It looks like there's a space to add pages to the home screen, is this feature currently available? Zuber mentioned Geoff would be looking here to tag this for Android users. Hey Geoff, thanks.
  20. I have been an avid Evernote Personal (Premium) user for years, evangelizing to my friends and colleagues. I am in the process of evaluating Evernote Business (EB) for my organization. Everything I love about Evernote Personal is what I love about EB; search, sync across multiple devices, etc. etc, I don't need to tell you. The problem I am having for my organization is that we also need integrated business-specific tools. The solutions that we are considering alongside EB pale in comparison in every functional way--ease of use, searchability, integration with our existing tool set. However, there is one (big) area that is critical to business: communication/collaboration. I would love to see the following types of features: Comments on notes (thread exists)Set up reminders/tasks for other Evernote usersThreaded Facebook/Chatter/Twitter-like news feedWorkflow toolsYes, I know I can use bootcamp or something similar to get these features, but I want a single integrated tool in as much as is possible. Am I missing those features? Do other EB users agree? Are there any communication/collaboration features on the EB roadmap? Thanks, Len
  21. Hi there, I am new to Evernote (free account at the moment). In my office, a team of 5 people would like to use Evernote Business to store and search for data each of us will input. Do we need 1 business account (£8 a month) for this or will the 5 of us need a business account each? (£40 a month). Thanks!
  22. I am relatively new to EN. After recently revisiting the app, I am amazed by how far it has come. I believe that it will allow me to realize my dream of being 100% paperless and also have my life searchable. I see no reason that I can't make this work at home and at my business (I own a retail store).. I bought the Evernote Scanner for at the office which came with a 1 year Premium acct. I love it. I want key employees to have access to EN to search for invoices, receipts, etc. I DO NOT want them to have access to my personal stuff. What is the best practice for achieving what I want to do? 2 separate accounts? Is there a way to have one account and limit access? I've been reading a lot on this forum about "everything in one place" and that sounds wonderful.
  23. We're about to go live with Evernote Business within our company and on the question of pricing, I was asked the question: "Why do we need to pay for everyone to be Business users if we can just have free users that share the business notebooks?" Apart from user functionality and not seeing many employee's going over 60mb. I couldn't think of a decent answer. Can anyone give me the pro's/con's of doing this. For those employee's we think will go over the 60mb limit will become business users, the remainder being free users that join the business notebook. Thanks.
  24. Clearly I have been sleeping, or I missed the memo, but several things that seem to occupy Evernote users' minds quite extensively now seem to have solutions waiting for them in Evernote's App Center. They're add-ins and some (all?) of them are paying packages, and I'm not recommending here, because I just installed two of them for a look-see; but if you're into sharing notes that need real-time collaboration and even conference-call discussion, and don't want that nasty "conflicting changes" elf to get in the way, have a look at LiveMinutes (they're under Web Apps - free for the rest of this year too) Or if you like Mind Maps (Me, me..) there's ConceptDraw Office which has an Evernote integration - apparently... The Apps pages are a resource I just opened like an early Christmas Present - there's other stuff in there that looks very interesting, but I do have to get some work done sometime. I've been a bit busy this year so far and clearly haven't been keeping up - apologies if this is old news; but before you do the standard (and boring) "the only thing stopping me giving you some money is" post for some missing feature that you didn't find in Evernote - check out the Apps pages! You never know, your Golden Feature could be there waiting for you!
  25. Hi, Some advice would be welcome. Thinking of investing in Evernote Business but want to be sure it's right for us before investing the finances, and more importantly to begin with the time and effort. I'm a long term user personally and love Evernote Premium. We're a High School with 100+ staff and 800 students. Almost everyone has an iPad. Admin staff have their own PCs. Teachers move from PC to PC. Our existing 'knowledge' is spread over a lot of silos. We have two horribly messy network drives with GBs of documents which stretch over many years. Any sensible file structure has been lost over the years! It's this mess that I really want to tackle first. We use Google Apps. Gmail is used as unofficial storage by most staff. Sending out documents and revisions of documents. Gmail search makes this a better solution than it should be! Google Drive is increasingly used, but not by all. I want a searchable, accessible knowledge storage system. Evernote Business should be perfect for this I think. But we're a school and even at 75% off it's expensive. We'd obviously want some key notebooks with important documentation in it, staff policies, document templates etc.. I'd also like staff to be able to collate resources around topics. A creativity notebook, an iPad notebook, an assessment notebook, data analysis notebook, etc etc.. Again in my head this seems perfect for Evernote Business. Reading through the forums here though I'm getting concerned that this could quickly turn into as big a mess as our current network drives, admittedly with the advantage of being accessible anywhere for our staff and being far more searchable. With no hierarchy and no ability to rename notebooks are we going to quickly end up with hundreds of messy folders where it's hard to find the wheat from the chaff? I'm also thinking of only investing in Business for certain staff who lead teams, then allowing others to use free accounts but to share important notebooks with them. Is this workable or are we going to spend our lives manually sharing folders with staff? Am I also denying the majority of our staff the opportunity to easily share and discover knowledge that might help them in their day job? Students would definitely have to have free accounts. Haven't really thought that through yet as it's not the driving force behind this solution. Such a shame though that an affordable school-wide solution isn't available, would be a great tool for students to have access to. If they do start using Evernote heavily they'll quickly hit the 60Mb limit. It would be the perfect digital portfolio tool for them. Feedback on the staff side of things welcome: 1. In large organisations does it become a disorganised mess of notebooks quickly? 2. Is a mix of Business / Free accounts practical or a logistical nightmare & stymied solution? Thanks
