  1. I have to confess I'm very confused as to why the new release (6.0.2) doesn't allow for creating a public link to a BUSINESS notebook? I see that they had initially removed the ability to create a public link for a PERSONAL notebook and then amid a hue and cry from disgruntled users, they decided to restore that function. However, it is IMPOSSIBLE (as far as I can tell!) to create a public link to a BUSINESS notebook. This makes no sense. Why on EARTH would the ability to create a public link to a BUSINESS notebook be less important than a public link from a personal notebook? Let's say I'm a business person who writes articles and I want to create a single repository for my clients and colleagues to read those articles. I'd create a public link from a BUSINESS notebook. Or perhaps I'm a teacher and I want to share information with my students and have THEM be able to share it with their fellow students or teachers. I'd create a public link from a BUSINESS notebook. Or perhaps I'm a chef and I do local cooking classes and in those classed I pass out a flyer that says, "For more recipes and images of my food, just check out my Recipes Notebook!" I'd create a public link from a BUSINESS notebook. As a business person, I want to share information pertaining to BUSINESS in a BUSINESS notebook. I don't want to commingle business and personal notebooks. It renders the concept of "personal" and "business" notebooks moot. If I have to commingle notebooks simply because I can only publicly share ONE type of notebook, then why even have business and personal notebooks? AGAIN I ASK, do the EN developers actually USE the product themselves or even care how their paying customers use it?
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm looking at signing up for Evernote Business for our small company. Along with having 5-6 managers who would need to have traditional Evernote accounts so they can create and share notes we also have 15-20 employees (call center agents) who's only access to Evernote would be so they can search through notes and read some of the informational notes that we plan to create for them. A very basic knowledge base. With that in mind I'm curious how the security and permissions of user accounts would work in Evernote Business and how I can setup a structure so that those call center agents would only get access to certain notes and have the proper "read only" access to those specific notes. I'm curious if there are any Evernote training videos/articles/documents that I can look through to make sure it can work the way I envision it working before signing up for a business account. Thanks for any help/advice you can offer. Kevin
  3. We received an email today at 11:22AM (about 20 minutes ago) that our "Evernote Business account is now deactivated." All business notes have disappeared and I have a company pretty upset. We recevied no prior communication and I cannot find a support phone number to call on the website. Support chat is also unavailable as my 'business' status has been removed. Please help soon. Brian
  4. Does anyone have experience creating forms or templates in Evernote and using them to standardize data collection? I'm investigating better photodocumentation tools to improve how we conduct our business. I'm interested in user experiences and also to talk to a developer.
  5. I have just started using the business card scanner on my iPhone. It is a great tool. When I scan a card, I get a note with the extracted contact information and a picture of the card. I would like to be able to add text notes on my interactions with that person within the business card note. There is a line for adding text information, but all of the useful formating functions (bold, italics, insert line, etc.) that appear in regular notes do not appear when writing in that box. Am I missing something? Also, I would like to be able to add a picture or scanned document (pdf) to that note. Is there some way to do this? I know that I could create a separate note for each contact, and link it to the business card note, but that seems very inefficient. Thanks for your help.
  6. I have a premium account and would like to see if it makes more sense for me to have a business account. I have two employess whom I would like to simply add tasks to their notes (actually templates that I can add extra task besides the normal ones). Getting help from the Evernote folks is impossible; pretty entiled crew over there. Can anyone tell me the advantages of business vs. Premium?
  7. I am preparing a workshop for a client and I just found out that I can't make any recommended notebooks in the Business Console. I use my own Evernote Business account to prepare and make screenshots, but I can't seem to find any option to make a notebook in the Business Library a recommended notebook. Can anyone help me out here? Is it still there? If so, where? Is it gone? If so, why?
  8. Hello members, Any Web documentations on the above, for premium and business accounts? I need to evaluate risk, challenges of synching notes? I would rather stick to EN, than adopt another product, app.? I will be the manager of the above. In addition, the other user doesn't live in the same area. Thanks in advance for all replies.
  9. Scenario: Business wants to share (from their EN business account) read-only notes with customers and subcontractors who are EN users but not members of the business and/or not EN users at all. Project Workflows will be integrated into EN Business and it is critical to be able to share project notes (workflow checklists and status logs, etc) with subcontractors and customers. Questions: Can an EN Business account user share via email (to a non business account member or non EN user) a note that is in a business notebook? Can an EN Business account user share a public link or URL to a read-only business account note (for 24X7 access to project progress)? Can an EN Business account user somehow 'creatively' share or publish a public link or URL to a read-only Business Notebook? (any creative backdoor approaches?) We understand that read/write shared notes and notebooks would require the subcontractor and/or customer to be members of the EN business account. Thanks for any help on this!
  10. I don't know what happened, but a very important business note has been deleted!! Can someone please help me? I cannot afford to lose this note, I cant find the trash anywhere to recover it.
  11. I tried rebooting my computer and logging in again. When I right click on a personal notebook, there is no option to move the notebook to business. I thought I would try to select all the notes in the Notebook but cannot seem to figure out how to do that either. The whole purpose of getting the business account is to move notebooks there and collaborate on them but will have to cancel business account if I can't move notebooks from personal.
  12. Hi there, Recently I have seen on this link, which I received on email from Evernote ( https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209006007-Tools-Templates) very nice implementation of some templates and widely offer them for use. Is there a way that templates like these can be deployed on the Company's Page on Evernote Business? Thanks... Dvir

  14. Hi There, I've a client considering Evernote Business. Basically, he has a security concern. Let's say he shares a notebook with Employee A, B, C, D & E B leaves the company. He deactivates B's account or is rights to the shared notebook. Will B still have access to old info on his device(s)? IE, will deactivating only stop him receiving new info, or will it also remove old info from him? Thanks for your help! Enda.
  15. Now with the new version, I find that I have no choice as to the "view" of my notebooks -- I see only the list view. Not helpful. Personal notebooks are now marked with a blue icon, and more easily distinguishable from business notebooks which have a green icon, but only on the desktop version... while on the web ALL notebooks are green. Not helpful. The icons for business and personal notebooks are now IDENTICALLY SHAPED which means that when you view the "All Notes" list you have NO way of knowing whether an individual note is in a business or personal notebook. Again, not helpful. Evernote is so confusing -- and just when I seem to finally figure it out to the point where I can use a fraction of its features, THEY RELEASE A NEW VERSION. Then I have to spend hours looking at the discussion forums and playing around with it to try to get back to where I've barely got my head above water. I'm a solo business person but I have a small team of colleagues I work with that I'd like to share notebooks with, but I don't because of the learning curve. I also have clients that I'd like to share notes and notebooks with but I can't ask them to use Evernote because it's just so non-intutive and ever-changing. It would just piss them off. It's actually easier to EMAIL documents and info back and forth than to ask someone to join Evernote so they can share notebooks. Seriously. What a waste. So I mostly just use it for myself to keep my own information for future reference, like I would a physical journal. It just so happens that EN is searchable so it's superior to a physical notebook. God only knows how a company of *any* size helps their people keep up with all the changes and non-intuitive design. It's almost as if they don't want you to! I'm above average in being tech savvy, but Evernote makes me feel like an absolute and utter idiot.
  16. I find out that the new Evernote Business (Version 6.1) designed two different home page for private and business user. Evernote 6.1 for Private: the "Notice book" page design keeps the old version, so we can see all the name of notice books in one page. Evernote 6.1 for Business: all the notice book name following one by one, from above to below. If we have a lot of notice books, we can not see all of them in one page any more. It´s really very bad for our company. We really hate this new design. The most useful function of Evernote is easy to organize notices in different notice books in one page. But now this function totally go away! we have to move mouse again and again to manager and organize those different notice books. Could you please just put an option on the new version, so that we can change the new look of "Notice Book" page to the old version. Otherwise we really don't know how to work on Evernote any more.
  17. The Evernote Business Card scanner feature has been a great time savings. It would be remarkably useful if the Note format was available as a template in order to use with ALL contacts. Particularly useful would be the option of adding additional fields especially a customizable "Other" field that would allow a user specified field title/name. I would be interested if anyone has developed anything like this for their contact management needs. If not, please consider my suggestion. Thank you.
  18. We need to comply with regulations that require that communication originating from our users be monitored, stored and reviewed .on a regular basis. Is there a way to force email messages originating in evernote “share” function to be routed via our domain email handlers? Can we disable that function for our business users? Also is there a way to force users –mechanically- to use the business book ONLY disabling the ability to create separate personal notes? Is there a process in place to backup the notes in our business books into our internal repositories? The main reason is that the local install on an internal PC is always to the C drive of the machine. There appears no way to install so the notes are stored in a shared drive on the local PC for the purposes of backup. (Yes using the subst command from DOS, yes DOS, works but it is a painful install and yet another local copy is kept on the C drive) I have mentioned this “features” for years and no progress as far as I can tell.
  19. I am an EBCC working with a client who uses Evernote Business. After the latest update she noticed that her saved tables were totally scrambled - text changed, formatting disappeared, etc. If she tries to delete a character, sometimes the whole row disappears. This is only with the desktop version (PC) - web is fine. I realize it may or may not be tied to the update, but is anyone else having this sort of an issue? Thoughts on a fix?
  20. How is it possible to have an autocomplete of the email adresses of my adress book or at least of the email adresses already used in evernote. For the work chat this is working in evernote but not for the "copy via Email" sharing option. It takes a long time to always look up the correct email adress in outlook and copy it to evernote. I would appreciate help with that topic! BR, Jens 3. 21. I have not found any topics mentioning this problem I am having with tags created by other users in Evernote Business. I am the ENB administrator and regularly have to go in and delete/modify tags that have been created incorrectly. Because of the number of tags that we currently have in use, I many times discover bad tags by accident. I strive to keep the list of tags in use down to a minimum, but we still have hundreds of them. It is no longer feasible to scan over them personally and find tag errors. For example, I come across tags that are misspelled or that are near duplicates of other tags that already exist. I have to delete/modify the "bad" tag and then worry about how many others are out there that I just haven't noticed yet. What I would like to suggest for consideration is that a process be developed that can be used to review new tags that are created. An administrator could then select one of three options: "Approved for use", "Modify then Approve" or "Delete Tag". While not necessary, a nice bonus would be an option to have the tag creator notified when an administrator changes or removes a tag. I am not suggesting that non-admin users should have any new restrictions placed on them while creating tags. I am just interested in finding a convenient way to review new tags created before they get buried under all the other established tags already in use. Thank You, Joe
  22. Windows Desktop---Really need to be able to Sort by --Modification date for notebooks. Additionally- Browsing available notebooks only shows three (3) recent notebooks. This should be extended to see a greater number of recent notebooks.
  23. Hi I am an administrator of a business account and while I Can delete notes and notebooks I cannot empty the trash... How come? Anyone tried the same thing or familiar with it and knows A workaround? Thanks
  24. Hi, I have the following issue: If I create a new Note with tables and tried to print it, then change Evernote the fotmat (height and width of the columns and rows) of the table. I guess that the new note is not atomatically in DIN-A4 format. Exists any settings which I should change? Best Regards, Ender
  25. I was excited to see the "New Updates in your Business Summary" notifications in Evernote, as well as the email digest that is now being sent. However I have a few requests. 1. The "New Updates in your Business Summary" notification requires a response from the user. Can it be set to fade/dismiss itself after a short while? Also a click anywhere but the "Later" button takes you to the Business Summary page, which is a pain if you're in the midst of working in a long note. 2. How do I set the frequency of notifications as a user and as an admin? Can I specify a certain time of day? 3. Can I specify a time of day for the email notifications?
