  1. We use Evernote Business at our school with our iPad program. Sometimes students also need to edit their notes on a Macintosh running 10.9.7 in either the computer lab or in a classroom computer. We have found that students could not edit an existing note inside of a shared notebook unless we switched them to the beta version. We used Safari and Chrome and had the same results. In order to get the student to be able to edit the note, I left them in the beta version. Is this a known issue or just part of the beta debugging? Obviously, having the ability to edit a note in the current web setup would be better then having to switch to the beta in order to edit the note.
  2. Hi ! I'm starting to test the evernote web beta, here is some point of view I have for now. First, everything seems quite nice and smooth, It's a pleasure. And It's making me very optimist on that upgrade. Thanks also for the latest new webclipper in firefox/linux who work great like google chrome. On the other side: -The listing of the notes is really big.... not sure if it's suppose to be for a iphone 6 plus or something, but you get the point. I'm loosing myself in the interface. Compare with the standalone software. A minimalist option will be great. Probably what we had before and now for the webinterface !? - Any plans for a Pins ? To let the notebook listing open !? - We have lost the option to get a preview of the pdf ? - Also about pdf, the opening of the file seems quite tricky, if you press the text, you start to be in edit mode? Not very handy for now. - We can't move folders, the drag and drop doesn't work. I hope it's just temporary. I'm sure you know. - Any 'Atlas' & 'Recent Notes' option for the web interface ? A bit geeky, but it could be fun ....Main issue so far, it's the size of the interface. I have more notes than before, and I'm looking to have many more soon. If everything could be more handy on the web. It will be great. Thanks again for the nice work! Cheers, Guillaume
  3. I am a Spanish user of evernote web. I have left a message about this topic in the evernote spanish forum, but that forum looks a little dead , so i am going to leave here a summary in english. I have tried the beta and i didn't like and now i am back to the old version. First, I am use to work in evernote with more than one note (Writing in one note while I am looking data in other notes) , but with the new interface is more difficult to open more than one and to put it in various firefox windows. In the old version came the option of "open note in a separate window" but now i can´t find it. Second, i tried to download one attached pdf, but i couldn't in any way and I erased it by accident. And it was 20 Mb (Fortunately i have Evernote Premium) but i found it very irritating that i cuoldn´t manage attached files, and for the Evernote free version users can be a little problematic with the data monthly usage. I find nice that Evernote is trying to make it more clearer for writing, but i also want to be more usable. Thank you P.S: Sorry for my english, i am not used to write in this language.
  4. I took the beta for a quick test drive but had to revert back almost immediately. My way of using and navigating Evernote is via tags. In the old UI I see my (numerous) tags in a compact list and can navigate to related notes with one click. In beta... not so. Actually the tags list could be even more compact in the old ui.. maybe a tag cloud like Delicious used to have?
  5. I have somehow got the new Beta on my Evernote. I'm using Evernote online now and don't like the new feel (when I have more time, maybe). Please help me to revert back to my trusty Evernote format.
  6. Hello! I have the web beta evernote now, and I'd like to know how we can open multiple notes in separate windows. It's very useful for me at work. We could do it in the version before, so I'm curious to know if this is still available and also where it is, I haven't found it. Sorry if this question has already been asked; but didn't found anything on the web for this. I use mac AND pc. Thank you in advance PS - sorry for my english !
  7. While opening an audio-only note in the new Web Beta, Chrome immediately downloaded the audio file twice. The audio file doesn't show up in the note either. It simply downloads as soon as you click on the note from the note list. Screen shot attached.
  8. Hi, I noticed that the bar above the note in the web beta (the one with tags and share, etc.) covers part of the scroll bar on the right. I had to scroll down a couple of pages to see it. Pictures below. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's still annoying. I didn't want to lump it in with the missing features (see this post for details), so here it is. Thanks
  9. I've just had a quick play with the new EN web beta - it looks very slick, but the "distraction free" additions also mean lots of wasted space, especially when browsing a note list before clicking a note. Some of these issues would be solved if EN jumped straight to the first note in the list (like the desktop clients). Much of the time I want to continue working on the last note I updated, and showing the note list with lots of white space either side doesn't gain much. Similarly the "tall" headers above the note list are in the way of getting as much information on the screen as possible (i.e. where is says "NOTES" and a count etc.). One option would be to do something similar to various Google tools and allow a "Display density" (compact, cozy, comfortable etc.) that changes the amount of whitespace. The fullscreen option also doesn't use the full screen - it hides the note list, but doesn't really expand the note editor. Also, I couldn't see a way to search the tag or notebook list. Finally a good set of keyboard shortcuts are a must for a tool like EN - I couldn't find any way to easily leave editing mode, escape didn't even cancel pop-up dialogues. In short - a good beta, I see where you're going with it, but for many users (I hate to use the phrase "power users, but you know what I mean) there is a way to go to make it an efficient tool. Cheers, Mark
  10. Hi, It looks like new Web Beta Evernote is taking the wrong turn on many aspects of the work. Sure, it is pretty, but the productivity aspect of Evernote usage has been entirely forgotten in the new design. - Menus are difficult to access rapidely as they collapse immedialtly (menus and notes should work together, not separately) - As lists are given too much vertical margin, it becomes very difficul to scan them - context is getting lost (A note is not an idenpendant object. It's often related to other notes in different notebook. Jumping from one context to another is getting very painfull.) - Notebook cannot be favorited (put it back please!!!) - No alt on icons (do we have to guess what they mean?) - transition effects slow down usage - contrast is too low - etc. In brief, Evernote is moving toward a Writing tool (where moving context away is sometimes usefull to increase focus). It is completely loosing its Organizing aspects, which could be a major NO GO in the future, if the Evernote team decided to apply the same principles to the Desktop version. -M
  11. I use multiple web based tools in my daily workflow. I often generate links to notebooks in a customized dashboard and in a few project management tools I use. I just tried the new beta version in chrome and noticed that the links no longer work and don't see a way to generate a new one (there is no individual url in the address bar). I obviously now can, return to the old version, but that won't be an option when the new version goes live. I normally use Evernote to collect information for later use and organize in Project Stacks with 8-10 notebooks. I need "one-click" access to these notebooks via url or my workflow simply doesn't work. The lack of unique urls for notebooks looks like it might be a product of a new "platform" for the beta, so my question is: Will users no longer be able to open notebooks without starting from the home page? I found no other discussions about not having a "notebook url" option in the current version so maybe its not important to most users or maybe I'm missing something?? Thanks for any help of feedback.
  12. Ok. I'm on ChromeOS using the Beta web-interface. Scrolling? Hello! The new Beta looks AMAZING!!!, but when I get to the bottom of the allotted space that I have to type in I have to scroll down using the touchpad and the bar on the side. Really? REALLY??? Beautiful product! Major, major flaw. Flow baby! Flow! Sincerely, Bizzwell
  13. GBarry: Where are the Beta Release Notes? In your announcement, you referenced Release Notes. Where are they? I suggest you start with this list. And you should provide a link to the Release Notes on the Beta signup screen, as well as state clearly that the Beta is missing many features and may not be suitable for everyone's workflow. You should also make the "Let us know what you think" be a link on the signup screen to this Beta Forum.
  14. Hello guys, I am new to Evernote and have a few comments on the new (very much improved and very attractive) Beta for Web interface 1/ when I "go to notes" or get to the main page, I am faced with a blank note ready to be written. This is great for those who mostly use their Evernote to create new notes, but for me, it is FAR more frequent I would be wanting to find an existing note... so this is an irritating time waster. It should be an option, "do you want to start with a new note or viewing the top item in a specific notebook OR view your notes with the top note selected?" Also "go to notes" should mean you go to your notes, surely? It does not say "create a new note"! 2/ when I want to find a particular note, I have to do too many steps. If I click on "Notebooks", I see the nice animation, and the result is to see a list of notebooks on the left of my web page. I then have to click on that list of notebooks to see the list of items within that notebook, THEN click on the note I want... It would be much faster to click on Notes or Notebooks, and by default, the newest item, or most recently viewed item, is displayed by default. The attached image shows what I would like to see when I start evernote... ready to create and browse notes. 3/ it would be great to have keyboard shortcuts to go directly to parts of the interface "N" New "M" Notes "B" Notebooks "T" Tagged "S" Shortcuts (why is it not called "starred"?) Lovely though. I will try for a few more days then upgrade to the premium account. Cheers, Mark.
  15. Hello, I tried the Evernote web beta for a bit but would like to revert to the standard version. How do I do this? Thanks, Habib
  16. Announcing a beta for TuskTools LifeLog: This is a mobile app - iPhone for now, Android likely if there is sufficient demand - which records the places you visit throughout each day. Whenever you depart a location that you’ve been at for about 5 minutes or more, LifeLog adds a note into a “LifeLog” notebook in Evernote, indicating where you were and when you arrived there. Just keep it running in the background on your phone and it will do its thing. Currently there's no interface in the app on the phone beyond a simple display of your last recorded location - the idea being that Evernote provides the interface. This may change going forward, depending on user feedback. Also, there's a lot of room for potential enhancement - for example: adding in photos that you took during the relevant time period, recording calendar appointments from that time, linking to other Evernote notes that were created at that time, etc. Again, user feedback will help to provide direction. This is an initial beta version and hasn't undergone much testing yet, so testers and feedback are welcome! If interested in testing, please sign up to download the app. Please send questions, issues, and feedback to support@moreproductivenow.com.
  17. The page camera multi-photo mode doesn't work properly in evernote 5.0.3 for android, at least on my Nexus 4. The issue at hand is that when I create a note and append several photographs taken with the new page camera multi-photo option, the photographs aren't saved in the same sequence as they were taken, but in a seemingly random order. I'd speculate that they are saved in the order of being finished processing, and not in the ascending order of their time-stamps? The same is true with V 5.1 Beta 1, which I just now installed. This makes the whole functionality a little awkward to use. Best, M.
  18. With the latest beta on Safari 7, if you start typing in the location bar, the web clipper will take focus away from the location bar, but ONLY if the javascript console is not visible. Which is weird... Enable the Web ClipperMake sure javascript console is not visible (or any of the inspection toolbar)Refresh PageClick on the location bar (or CMD + L)Start typing an address, such as google.com or amazon.comThe web clipper will take focus away, assuming after a given amount of time has passed for an event to fire in the web clipper. Sort of makes this non-usable. Again, make sure the javascript console is not visible. I had it up to capture/profile and when it was visible it wouldn't show this behavior. If you clear the console, then close it and start typing to cause the address bar to lose focus and then re-show the console, you'll see a lot of this: [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () (messages.json, line 0) [Error] Failed to load resource: The file “messages.json” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file. (messages.json, line 0) Both of these occur in: safari-extension://com.evernote.safari.clipper-Q79WDW8YH9/32a0f059/_locales/en_us/messages.json
  19. Hi all! We are working on a new product and would love your feedback on how to better integrate Evernote into it. Mural.ly lets you grab web content, organize it on a big canvas and share/collaborate with others (video showing it in www.Mural.ly). The end results are "Murals" of web content that help you share ideas visually: You can also create the Murals in groups, in real time. One of the "Web content" that we want to add are Evernotes, so we wanted to know how you'd use it! Cheers! Mariano Suarez Battan Mural.ly CEO

  21. We have purchased the business version of Evernote and not happy with it at all. In my opinion it is still a very beta product with good potential. Here are some of the bugs we have : Business tags do not synchronise with Windows machines It is not easily possible to transfer all your premium notes to your business notebook Multiple sync issues where it is not possible to sync except delete all local data and resync with the online version Not possible to empty trash can for business users. Not possible to import folders like in the premium version support are not up to date with the business version and offer support based on premium Hopefully evernote solve these soon. Otherwise the product is useless .. mainly due to the sync issues.
  22. I am on the Skitch iOS beta but we are on beta 3 or something and there hasn't been an updated thread since beta 1 (from way back in Sept) and no one from Evernote is responding to it. Unlike most EN betas, the beta info has no "Discuss this beta in this thread" link on the emails. I assume we are on the beta to provide feedback, I just don't know where to do it.
  23. Greetings Productivity Fans, I work at Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) on a project called Meshin. Our team has built two productivity apps, one of which is publicly available in Android Market. The other, Meshin Recall, is a calendar app hooked into Evernote. Recall allows you to--amongst other things--create auto-tagged Evernotes with one click from a slick user interface. It's not publicly available yet--still more like Alpha-- and I'd love to find folks interested in giving it a whirl and hitting me and our team with feedback. We think it has enormous potential, but external input is critical to shaping Recall. If you have an Android phone and you'd like the .apk, drop me a line at matt@meshin.com and I'll forward it along. Cheers! Matt Haugh Director of Community | Meshin

  25. Hey everyone on iOS, wanted to let you know that Meshin Recall (killer calendar integration app with smart links to Evernote) is now in Beta on iOS. If you're interested in joining the beta, head on over to http://www.meshin.com/. To encourage folks to help spread the word, we're giving away a new iPad to the person to gets the most friends to sign up. We're also giving away 20 copies of Daniel Gold's "Getting Things Done with Evernote" eBook, and 5 Evernote Premium licenses. But all the prizes aside, the important thing is we need beta users to help us reach feature parity with Recall on Android, which is getting a VERY warm reception in the wild. Hit me back on this channel with questions, or email me at matt "at" meshin.com. Hope to see you in the beta! Matt PS: I should point out that we have worked very closely with the dev and leadership team at Evernote over the past year plus. They've been GREAT to work with and are very supportive of the developer community. Another reason to love Evernote!
