  1. I use Evenote for 4 years and I'm a beta tester too. In the new version (7.9.4. Beta) when I typing with my keybord, I can't type accents with Anysoftkeyboard. I use hungarian keyboard and how this is work: when you double tap "o", it will be "ó", etc. I can use it all apps even Evernote until now. In this new version double tap means "oo", not "ó". This keyboard app work with all apps including Evernote until now. What happend?
  2. I once was on the upgrade path for En and it screwed me up badly. Since that time, I've made sure that "Enable beta features and updates" was never selected. En has just asked me to do an update, I did, now "Enable beta features and updates" is selected (not my doing). So, is En not smart enough to know that I don't even want to download betas? Shouldn't it be telling me before I upgrade that it's a beta update?

  4. I saw that there was a new beta of the web client and was genuinely excited. I use the Web client at work everyday and would agree that an update is definitely needed. Modern web apps can do all kinds of cool stuff, and I was excited to see how much "whizzbangness" had been added to the beta. I see what you're trying to do with the focus on writing. That part looks good. Maybe a little minimal for my tastes but I get the gist. But almost everything else is concerning. And this is coming from someone who LOVES Evernote. I realize this is a beta and was totally prepared to make do with some things, but it's like 25% of the app was just completely left out. So I'll start the list of things that I would like to see. Feel free to add to the list Reminders Saved Searches Saved Searches in Shortcuts are also gone. Nested Tags (Tag hierarchy) Maybe less white space Multi-select Notes Search within the Notebook and Tag lists for fast access A way to cancel/discard a newly created note without having to save and delete it. Notebook stacks visible from the notebook drop down menu in the note editor. Always present option to get back to the home view. Share icon design. Note list view Night mode / Color contrast options More Keyboard Shortcuts (if possible in a browser) Mouse-over on nav icons Option to toggle formatting bar so that it’s always present Note highlighting and annotation Share notes via email Ability to open multiple notes (open in new window) No resizing Delay Text at the end of the screen during note creation Text formatting requires too many clicks Reminder set ends when you click the date. Done button. While in search mode, search terms take up too much space Page breaks Pasting images from clipboard Information density Update time in Note Info Please keep in mind that this is posted with love from a user who has been here since 2008. Premium since 2009. UPDATE: I will try to keep the list up to date with suggestions and ideas from others.

  6. Hi all, We have a release candidate version for the new Firefox Web Clipper that we'd like to invite a few select people to start testing. It is a complete re-write and doesn't share any code with the previous version so we expect some turbulence in the beginning. When you report issues please post your OS, Firefox versions, URL where an issue can be observed and as much details as necessary for us to reproduce the problem. Not expected to work in this version: - Sharing Get the latest build here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/versions/ And feel free to post both design & performance feedback as well as straight up bugs.
  7. The title says it all. I recently updated to the beta version of Evernote 6.2 beta 2 for Mac and since doing so I now cannot open two or more notes at the same time. I double-click a note to open it outside of the main Evernote window and it greys out the main Evernote window and when I click back in the main Evernote window to look at or open another note, the note I originally opened closes. Basically, I can only edit one note at a time. Why? Is this a new "feature" or just a bug? I need to be able to view one note and edit another or at the very least be able to see and scroll through other Evernote notes. Also, note the grey boxes that have started to appear around the buttons in the toolbar since the update.
  8. I like the new web interface beta. That said, I had to switch back because I lost evey attachment I tried to open. Clicking the attachment opened a formatting popover. Selecting, then hitting return DELETED the attachment, with no undo or trash restore available. Is this really ready for Beta?
  9. Hello Evernote users! Announcement: We are excited to be featured in the Evernote AppCenter Travel section and Top #50 Productivity in the US & Canadian iOS AppStores. Ways to get the iOS app worldwide: 1. http://ideaplaces.com/download 2. Search "Ideaplaces" in the Apple app store. We have been working incredibly hard to build a new iOS app called IdeaPlaces. It provides a new way to use Evernote by linking your notes to locations on a map and providing a way to explore them visually. As Evernote users ourselves we really believe that one of the most valuable things in the Evernote experience is context. With each thought written down, to-do created or photo taken, we believe there is tremendous value in showing contextual information around anything created. Also, we have worked hard to facilitate the sharing of notes and context in the most seamless way possible, during the note creation process. App summary and why it matters to Evernote users: http://blog.ideaplaces.com/ideaplaces-app-a-new-way-to-experience-evernote-around-places/ ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Here are screenshots and explanations of the features to give you a good idea of how it works. Visualization of notes After you link your Evernote account to IdeaPlaces your notes are sync'd and you can view all of them from points on a map. This allows you to explore all of the notes you have that contain location meta data. You can even create places and attach notes to them. By doing this, any note added to a place will then have the location meta data of that place. We have integrated with two main API's: Foursquare and Google Places. Ability to create robust notes quickly. Sharing integrated in the process. We have realized that creating notes from your phone has to be simple or users simply wont take notes from their device. This is why we worked hard on creating an incredibly fast way to create notes. Right from the visual map screen you can tap on the create note icon or wave the phone on any screen to start the note creation process. The note creation process allows you to add and edit the following: Title Location (pre-input & editable) Users to share the note with (text or email) Standard text Photo's (multiple sizes) Notebooks (including shared notebooks) Tags Location-based reminders To-do based notes and shopping reminders are easy to forget, but with location based reminders we are hoping to make them a thing of the past. In the note creation process simply set the location and tap reminder to make sure you get notified the next time you are in a 75m radius. Location enhanced notes Understanding the context of the note while you are actually viewing the note is important for you or anyone you share the note with. This is why we have enhanced all of the notes viewed or shared within the app with both google map and street view. These images link directly into google maps and provide an easy way to get back into IdeaPlaces. Feedback and beta testers We are looking for passionate users of Evernote like us to test our application and help us with feedback. If you would like to help this app evolve into a truly amazing Evernote experience we would love your help. Here is our contact email to request a free coupon code or become an active tester on Testflight. signup@ideaplaces.com http://www.ideaplaces.com Download the app on the iOS app store now! We are actively developing the application and can guarantee a response within a few hours. We are still in the early stages of this app and believe that it can have a tremendous impact on the way that users use Evernote now and in the future. We can't wait to see what this will become! Let us know what you think and if you have any comments or suggestions post below! Thanks

  11. Hi, I spent some time comparing the new "Web UI preview" with the productive version and have made a list of missing or changed features in the preview (not bugs!). I just want to document the facts without any judgment. Please feel free to add things, I am sure I did not find all. I am going to constantly update this list. I will cross-out the features that will be added by Evernote in the future to the "Web UI preview" so one can see the progress. Side barNo expandable/collapsable lists of notebooks, tags etc. which increases the number of necessary clicks and scroll actions to reach an entryNo drag&drop to/within the sidebarNo nested tagsTags can not be renamed or deletedStacks can not be created/deletedNotebooks can not be created in or moved to stacksSearchNo saved searchesNo possibility to save a searchNo previous searchesNo FiltersNo Multi-Selection tocombine notes, delete notes, present notes,e-mail multiple notes, change notebook, add tags.No remindersNo list viewNo hyperlinks (only automatic links when entering something like http://...)No location informationNo way to print a noteNo inline view of pdf filesNo possibility to display a note in a separate window (I use it often on second screen)Only 4 notes in the snippet view on my Mac in contrast to 8 in the productive version and 24 in the list viewIn most cases I cannot see the complete title of my notes just about 32 charactersLots of unused whitespace. For example when you switch to the fullscreen view of a note it actually just moves the note to the center but does not use the additional space.Selection of text style has to be done after adding textDifficult to read due to lack in contrastHuge fonts take unecessary space. No possibiity to set a notebook as favouriteNo possibility to share a note via E-MailNo gallery of pictures in the noteNo possibility to create tablesNo possibility to retrieve notes history (premium feature)Encrypted notes can not be viewedOpening the site always creates a new empty note
  12. I am not able to move my notes to a specific notebook in the web beta. If i am using web beta, can i go back to current version of evernote?
  13. Sorry to ask a simple question here but: I can for the life of me figure out how to next a notebook into a stack. And now that I'm looking, I don't see where you create stacks either. One other unrelated note: Many of my notes are saved URLs, and I find the location of the "jump to link" very difficult from a ux perspective. Thanks!
  14. Hey all, First off I want to commend you guys on the look of the beta client. It is very sleek, and looks good. However, I feel we're losing some key features in making it usable. The following issues were things that bothered me. If I just didn't discover them, please just point these out. There's no way to categorize your tags anymore. There's no dragging and dropping tagsYou can't search on multiple tagsNo more note previewing while still seeing the rest of your search results. If you work following the guidelines of Getting Things Done, this gets really frustrating. I switched back to the old version right away :/ I really hope some of these changes are still being worked on. Best Regards, - Nui
  15. Are you out of your mind?! Beta? - It's not even alpha. Please tell the designer - it's nice, but nobody needs it, because there's nothing to use anymore.
  16. I want to inform the team that I am opting out of BETA after using it since it started. Overall i have been fairly ok with the new design, however... managing my notes is not really at the forefront with BETA. When I found that I could not create a new notebook and move it into an already existing stack ... well I had to change to old style. Utility and functionality is what sets Evernote apart from other note systems, I use it to group notes together my list of notebooks is substantial and putting them into stacks helps alot. That is a fundamental issue for me, so I am now out of the BETA. Thank you.
  17. The new beta experience is sub par. In fact, it's worse off. It feels like you made a good product look pretty just because you could. The functionality is less efficient, navigating around my notes/notebooks feels cumbersome, and generally I agree that less is more, but it seems like you went too far with going "less". On that note, I want to make a comment about the experience of trying to use tables. It's very hindering that we cannot edit the tables after they are created. The auto-sizing of the columns is downright horrendous. For example, I use Size-Up on my Mac, and resizing the window smaller makes the table smaller, fine. However, making the window take up the full screen again does not put the table width back to 100%, as it was before. I read somewhere that Evernote doesn't want to take over, or compete (or whatever), with more robust note taking software. But let's be real, I would bet that there are a lot of people that want Evernote to do just that. Why hold back on features that are very helpful (damn near essential) for people that want to use your product? I will admit, however, that the aesthetic look/feel of the beta is nice. But the functionality went completely the wrong way. I'd rather have something that works well, than looks nice. Overall, I don't understand why Evernote is holding itself back.
  18. Hi, I just got a pop-up message suggesting I changed to the Evernote Web BETA interface. I must say that I'm extremelly disappointed with this update. Here are a couple of reasons: 1) No reminders on top of notes when I click on a notebook I run multiple projects in Evernote, each one has a notebook. In these notebooks I store project information, research and todos or reminders. If I want to see what I have to do, at a glance, in the previous version I would just click the notebook and see all my project reminders at the top. With evernote BETA that went way and I can't find a way to show my reminders by notebook/project 2) If I need to get to a note, I now need more clicks. Click the icon on the left to get to notes, find a notebook through the gigantic font list of notebooks, click a notebook and open a note. (4 clicks) Previously, I would just pick a notebook from the side view and see all notes and chose the note I wanted (2 clicks) 3) Design is confusing Fonts are huge, the notes list is centered on my scree (21") so there's a lot of weird white space around it. There are not very clearly defined boundaries between different sectinos of the screen. It's hard to tell where the separation of the note title and the note text is. The new note toolbar on the side isn't helpful at all, I would like to see all options at glance. 4) The interface is completely different from the PC/MAC Why completely change something that worked well, instead of improving performance of the previous web interface ? 5) Can't find a way to go back I had just switched to a premium account yesterday. Since I cannot seem to be able to continue using my previous workflow in this new interface, I'm going to have to reconsider staying a paid customer.
  19. The new beta has the quick format bar come up when I check/uncheck a check box. This automatically blocks the check box below it, meaning I have to click elsewhere to view the next box. This is really aggravating as I do a lot of checking.

  21. Hello, First of all, let me start off by saying that I am a totally blind computer user. I recently signed up for evernote and have been using a combo of the web beta and the windows desktop app. Both are resonably accessible with my prefered screen reader, Window-eyes by gwmicro. A screen reader is software that uses synthasized speech to convey information to a blind/visually impaired individual through the use of keyboard navigation. This information can be manipulated and customized in hundreds of ways to suit the user's preferences. However, I just now read the announcement about testing the new beta and was not expecting to be told NOT to use the beta if we were using assistive tech software. I have to dmit, I'm disappointed in this request. I feel that, should the Evernote creators care about accessibility at all, they should invite screen reader and other AT users to test their product for accessibility issues. Wouldn't it be better to address them now in a beta stage and not have to deal with them later? Don't I have as much right to test the web beta as any other user and provide feedback? It's a little like saying, "you can test our new chocolate candy, but not if you like milk chocolate." Isn't that still chocolate? It would seem to me that, by not wanting AT users to participate in the beta test, Evernote is limiting their potential market of users of their products. Presently, I can't write notes in the desktop app, I can't delete them in the web app. The desktop app has hotkeys, the web app doesn't, and I use full keyboard navigation for my entire computing experience. it's faster to drag and drop notes into notebooks in the web app, there are more shortcuts for moving notes in the desktop app though. What the Evernote devs might not know is that Window-eyes is currently in a beta testing cycle of its own. Part of this testing is for an advanced and entirely new version of Browse Mode. This is the interface mode that the software uses to communicate with web page elements. By rewriting the code for this feature from the ground up, GWMicro has made it possible for Window-Eyes users to FINALLY use a web version of the Evernote client; both the old version and new beta version are now somewhat accessible. Also, they have updated the use of Window-Eyes so that it can read the screens on the desktop app; it was unable to do this before due to a conflict in the UI of the native app. I still can't read the document window to write notes in the desktop app though. So, keeping this in mind, I would like to enquire as to the decision to not have AT users involved in a beta testing cycle of a product that is by far the most used notetaking software out there. Also, I would like to request that AT users be given the freedom to test and submit accessibility issues with the beta as well as suggestions on how to make it easier to navigate. By doing this, the devs would be weeding out issues that they might have to deal with in future. By not doing this, the devs are showing a sad lack of ambition to make their products accessible in a world where accessibility is becoming more of a recognized issue in the web development community. One need only look at mlb.com and amazon.com at the tops of their respective pages to notice this. I would appreciate any feedback on this issue and encourage discussion. I will freely admit that these are my opinions and, as such, can be taken with however many grains of virtual salt you desire. That said, I thank you for reading this and hope you will consider my concerns as valid. If you would like any further explanation and/or a demo of how I navigate the web and your evernote apps in particular, please don't hesitate to ask. thank you, Dave
  22. Hi, I've seen this referred to in the past but thought it needed percolating back to the top. I've flipped into (and then quickly out of) the beta in the past when attachments could not be opened. Today a refresh of the web interface was presented. Was hoping the attachment issue was fixed. Alas, no. When you double click on the box containing the name of the attachment within a note, it just brings up a formatting box. Noticed this issue was not listed within the weekly update notes on what is known to developers and is actively being fixed. Cheers Paul
  23. When I hit delete for a note while displaying (and sometimes while not) the note is still there when I go back to the notebook's list view.
  24. Hey, Really liking the look of the latest beta on the web. Wondering what the default font is? Mike
