  1. I installed the program and managed to annotate images. When I shut down my PC and restart it, I click on the 'Annotate' box, and nothing happens. I have tried clicking out of the note and onto another, but that does not work. To get it to work I have to re-install the program, but the things mentioned above repeat themselves. Is there any way to solve this?
  2. I really like the Annotate option but when I use it,and finish, I click "Save and Exit" and my Annotations promply dissapear. Where do they go and why don't they just change the image I just spent time annoting?
  3. Hello, if I take a photo with Evernote for iPhone (new camera note), either Photo or Document template, the resulting image has a very nice quality/size ratio. If I now go ahead and crop it, its size increases. Right now I took a photo of a receipt, the first photo size was 160 kB, then I cropped it (removing mostly white background - the table on which I took the photo) and now its size increased to 583 kB. I believe the same happens if I edit such iPhone created image in Evernote for Windows using the 'Annotate' feature. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Secret settings somewhere etc? ;-) Thanks for any input.
  4. Hi, I am big into taking digital notes. I have traditionally used Microsoft Onenote along with Dropbox to annotate and sync all my school notes. I am wanting to make the move to Evernote for Windows due to frustration over various technical bugs, but I am finding that it lacks what I need it to do. I am in a professional post-grad program and currently I download all the the different class notes and import them to Onenote. These notes are either Word, powerpoint, or PDF format. Onenote automatically converts the file into a pdf format and places the whole file in view on the note (not a link). From that point I am able to draw over them to annotate, highlight sections, or add text. I would like to be able to do this with Evernote/Skitch. Is there a way to easily be able to import different files, have their contents display in evernote (without converting to a picture format), then be able to annotate over / on them and save back to evernote??? I would also like to be able to add audio notes that correlate to different sections of my notes. For example a professor might be going into a lot of detail over a powerpoint slide and I would just like to have audio that links to that slide. Please help
  5. Highlights is a Mac utility for extracting PDF annotations and converting them to portable formats (Markdown, HTML) or archiving them in Evernote. When you open a PDF in Highlights the highlighted text, comments and image selections are extracted. If it is a journal article, the app fetches metadata for it automatically and embeds it in the PDF. You can then open the neatly formatted highlights in Evernote directly as regular notes (ENML-files). This way, you can have a PDF library on disk and an easily searchable summarized archive in Evernote. Highlights can also be used for working with PDFs and notes in sync. You can highlight text and select images in the PDF, have them extracted in real-time and then add comments to the extracted highlights and have them synced back to the PDF as PDF comments. To simplify literature reviews, Highlights will lookup references you underline in the PDF and link them if possible. For more information check out the website highlightsapp.net. The app is available in the Mac App Store for 9.99$, but I have some promo codes to share with you, so grab them while their hot: http://tokn.co/4q8bpq6c http://tokn.co/3nszfkjxhttp://tokn.co/cjbgyx2whttp://tokn.co/psu68yq2http://tokn.co/r2zct9u9
  6. Just became a Premiium member and have tried using annotate on both the Mac and iPad. When entering text after selecting the "a" at the side of the page the text I have entered is formatted very large and takes up too much space. Instructions say to click inside the text or highlite the text and a slider will appear. I don't see this. I would like to reduce the size of the text in various saved pages. I've tried going up to the menu at the top of the page under Format but changing the font size there doesn't affect the annotation. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
  7. I've seen another post on this issue in the Skitch thread, but I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not, so I'm posting it elsewhere. I'm using Evernote for Mac v5.5.2, and for most PDF documents that I'm trying to annotate, I get an "Unable to Save Document" error when I try to close it after annotation. A few PDFs have annotated and closed just fine...but I hate spending a good deal of time annotating something only to find it can't be saved. Does anyone else have this issue and/or know if there's a fix/workaround? Thanks in advance for your help! ~Wes
  8. One of my favorite features in Evernote, when it comes to collaborating and providing feedback to students, is the annotate button. When an artifact is shared it can then be annotated using the tools found in Skitch. You can annotate any note as a PDF or photo which allows you to write and draw directly on the work itself. Once you are done annotating Evernote creates a new note with the entire annotation, a break down of each annotation and the name of the person who gave the annotation. It keeps the original notes title but adds Annotated to it so it is easy to see what work has been give feedback. At the same time it keeps the original work so it doesn’t need to be redone aafter all the annotating.
  9. After pasting in a screen cap from Skitch into a note, most of the time (90+%), I can't annotate the image inside of Evernote for Windows. If I click on the annotate button or select Annotate from the menu it does nothing. I've figured out a temporary (but convoluted) workaround. The "Annotate a Copy of Image" option brings up the annotation window. If I close it, delete the new annotate image note, I can the reliably annotate the original image I pasted into Evernote.
  10. Skitch has a lot of nice, built-in keyboard shortcuts. It'd be nice to have these when marking up/annotating from Evernote, too! Just a suggestion, to save me the extra work of creating all these through the OS.
  11. Hi everyone! I'm new here. I like how Evernote stores web pages as editable notes. However there are times when I need to have the web page stored as a pdf. This is for instance when I need to highlight and annotate/comment on the content, rather than editing content. Also, I require the highlighting and commenting to be in pdf format, not in a the snapshot style. So the question here is can Evernote save a webpage as a pdf directly into Evernote? Is this doable currently and if not can this be added as a feature? Thanks!
  12. At work we use all platforms for Evernote except Mac. I create notes in Evernote and on my Galaxy S3 I can hit the button "Annotate in Skitch" which is great. I cannot do this on my iPhone or iPad. There are two issues I am looking to address- First, I would like to annotate PDFs that I have uploaded to my Evernote account on all of my devices. I have read this has been possible in the past with the first page, and that the ability to do this will soon be added. Second, I would like the option to "Annotate in Skitch" on my iPad, not just my Android based tablets. Have either of these issues been solved?
  13. Hi there. Is there an ability to annotate a web clip (something that is not a pdf, jpg)? I like the idea of skitch. How to do this on editable text like from a web clip? I know I can just type it.. but I like how Skitch stands out. Jason
  14. When I write using Inklet, I don't have to press down to activate (as though I am clicking a mouse). Can I annotate in Skitch without having to press down (so hard)? Thanks, Rick
