  1. I have a Pixel 2 running Android 8.1.0 and Evernote 7.17.1. I have put a widget on my homescreen which shows my shortcuts. The idea is I can click at any time onto a shortcut link and go to that note. The problem is that when I tap on the link most of the time, nothing happens. If I tap on the settings cog or hit a button to create a new note then Evernote will open and perform the action. Only after I have done this will the shortcut links work again back on the homescreen. It appears the buttons only work if Evernote is open in the background. This is annoying since it defeats the purpose of having a widget with fast direct access to a shortcut or note. Can anyone else see this behaviour? Thanks.
  2. That you can very quickly alienate your subscribers when you constantly ask them "Did you know? Try it! Well I didn't bother trying it, I just quit. I went in and thought I disabled it but no, next time it's there again. I'm heading back a version just because of this stupid "Did you know?" every single time I try to do anything. Update: Well, this "Did you know?" has now rendered one of my devices totally useless. It's was a device that rarely was within range of Wi-Fi so it had everything "offline." Well it's sure offline now. Data all gone. Device useless. It would take months to reload everything. Am I having fun yet?
  3. Can't seem to type properly in evernote with my SwiftKey keyboard. When I type edit an existing piece of text, it will auto correct to show the word with the first half shown twice. (example. Decidecisons). If I correct this and try to press enter after the next text I type, the auto correct seems to think I'm adding to the previous word. I thought this was just a keyboard problem, but evernote is the only app that this is happening in.
  4. Hi. Few minutes ago I was opening a note in order to share it. The Android app says wasn't possible without connection. I connected the tablet to wifi e tried again. It says I haven't permission to share the note and ask to the owner. But there is any other user for this app or the tablet! Then I look for the note again, but it was lost. Evernote web and the basket already checked. How can I find my note? 5. Hi - I have captured several notes with images (photos) and one note in particular shows only the last 3 images. All the others just show an image placeholder/icon. How do I recover these pictures? Any help on recovering these pictures would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. Related to this post below I share the concerns about unsolicited and intrusive digging into photos by Evernote or any other app. However my query is a reverse of this; effectively to "collect photos" on demand. When I want it to do so on a specific photo, not when Evernote thinks it should after rummaging through all your photos. I can add a photo to a note from the phone's photo roll but the problem is I cannot find a way to apply the image cleanup that Evernote does automatically when you capture a document from camera directly. Clearly the "collect documents" invokes this function but that seems to be either on (Evernote rifles through your photos unbidden) or off (you don't get the option to "collect" specific photos at all) Say you were in a hurry and snapped a pic using camera as you didn't have time or didn't think to open Evernote and capture a document. Any ideas?
  7. I need to be able to print on Android.
  8. Nexus 6, Android 6.0.1, Evernote 7.8.2. I use a Passcode to provide a minimal level of security for all my notes. However, when I go to the 'recent apps' screen, Evernote will happily display a mini copy of whatever note was open when I last used it. This opens a vulnerability for my information. No, 99% of the time it's not going to reveal necessarily private info that would be bad if it were shared, but if I've bothered to set up a passcode in evernote so that any random person who might gain access to my phone will have at least that blocking their access, then it defeats the point of that passcode if what I've recently viewed is displayed clearly on the recent apps screen. It should obfuscate the text in the recent apps screen.
  9. Hi all, I think that, it wiil be better if we can minimaze photos and can right beside them, this way we can make trully info like manuals The to sound, if a can record an rear a sound on EVERNOTE with out try find a program that do that, EVERNOTE will up-grade to better
Muchas gracias. Un saludo, Javier
  11. Hi Everyone, I don't really understand Evernote. I make a list of things I must do and then delete the list but I didn't know that everything went into trash (doh). so, I found everything in the trash but I can't empty the trash. When I googled that I read that I just click the 3 dots on the top at the right, but when I do that it just gives me the option to "Restore Note. Would someone please tell me how to empty the trash. Also is there a tutorial for Evernote, I am just not understanding it. Many thanks. joanelaine
  12. I love evernote and uses lots of images in my note. One thing bothers me is that in Andoid version of evernote, there is a black line on the top showing image name(some-random-number.png), this really cut my screen estate and I want the option to disable this image name line so I only see image when swipe left/right. https://www.evernote.com/l/AoQe39nWzepFNY3M8luccZaIjYWVSCIA13k IOS version of evernote doesn't have this problem, it just say something like "Image 1 of 10" at the top and if you tap it, it'll disappear and I'll see only images, which is what I want. this is my other post on the forum before being suggested to giving feedback here. https://evernote.directly.com/p/4cd6f055-5383-4b35-b521-1a365d7f562f
  13. On my OnePlus5 phone (with Android 8.1) with latest Evernote version (7.17.1) Evernote does not LAUNCH. App loading stops at the "Evernote" start-up screen with the elephant. Does not go further. I have tried clearing Evernote app cache > no help. Internet connection and other apps working OK on my phone. Evernote is working OK on my account e.g. from Web and Windows clients.
  14. I cannot log in as I have forgot my password. Tried loading onto new phone, and my Evernote & all other accounts linked to my Google acct I cannot log into. I uploaded a .txt file onto Evernote on Jan 28, 2018 with my backup codes for Google. I need that file in order to restore my access. Can you please reset my email options, from the acct I cannot get into: LizClark0910@gmail.com, to my recovery email: LizWClark0910@gmail.com, so I may reset the password & access the file with my codes? You can call, message, or text me and I can provide any neccesary confirmation as this is truly my account. Thank you! Liz Clark
  16. I'm having a problem that is only happening on your app. I'm using a Z4 Xperia tablet with the default BKB50 bluetooth keyboard that comes with it. I'm using the default software and default ROM (no editions of any kind). Sometimes, the input behaves wierdly; here's 2 cases in particular. 1. I start typing and some keys are interpreted repeatedly: "IIIIII sstaaaaaarrrrrttt tyyyypppppinggggga aaandddddd soooommmmmeeee" etc. 2. If I type the accent key, all letters will continue appear with accents until I either type a space (space bar) or a period (.) ejemplo de casos donde los áćéńtos no dejan de aparecer. sóĺó´dejan de aparecer cuando escribes (espacio) o (punto). these two cases happen only on your app. let me know if I can send a file, a log or something that can help you find and fix the problem. keep up the great work!!!
  17. Good morning. After 2 months in which I couldn't use Evernote, on my access I haven't found my notes anymore, neither on my smartphone (Android) nor on my PC (WIndows 10). Can you help me to restore my notes, please? Thank you very much.
  18. A few days ago Evernote for Android asked if I wanted to enable a feature to scan pictures for text and add them to my notes. This happens outside of Evernote, just using the camera on my S8. Now I take a few pictures and then my phone starts buzzing like a maniac as Evernote scans the pictures for text and then prompts me to save or ignore each one. I cant for the life of me find how to turn this off. As a workaround I disabled the storage access permissions from Evernote and that seems to work for now but assume Evernote will need storage permissions at some point and dont find this a suitable fix. Anyone know how to turn the ocr off??? Thank you.
  19. It would be fantastic if Evernote for Android had an inline PDF viewer. Most of my notes are scanned PDFs, so an inline PDF viewer would make Evernote for Android so much easier and faster to use.
  20. *** Edit Update *** This topic has been raised before but no conclusion was reached and it was for much earlier versions of the software. It was always possible in the past, to be able to open an attachment file (say a word document) , edit it, and save it. Evernote Android would kindly ask if you would like to update the file. This is no longer the case. Evernote Android simply replies with "Resources not changed"... which is simply another way of saying "The files are read only permission" This is interesting, because the directory where these files are located (Android/com.evernote/tmp) .. or something like that .. has full read/write permissions. Also .. these files are not located on the phones SD card, but internal memory, so SAD card issues can be ruled out. Finally, I've tested this with several different application. I've opened the attachment with Android Word, WPS, Google Docs, and even Office Suite (which was "endorsed" by Evernote a few years ago as the better option for editing attachments) (Conspiracy theory 1) Is this perhaps why Evernote decided to make linking to Google Docs a new feature? This is not a suitable substitute as one cannot search these file contents from within Evernote (Conspiracy theory 2) Curiously, OneNote users also have this problem. Is there perhaps an agenda to herd us sheeple to put all our documents onto cloud servers such a Drive/OneDrive/DropBox)?
  21. i have alot of notes written in arabic and i used to write arabic from right to left but after I updated my app to 7.9.1 it is no longer available ... i have to write arabic from left to right, it is so annoying. Please fix this issue asap
  22. Since the last "upgrade" there doesn't seem to be any way to create a 1x1 desktop shortcut to a single specific note. Am I missing it? If it's truly been removed, are there any suggestions for an Evernote replacement that has a single note shortcut capability? Thanks.
  23. Hi, I just created an account here to seek help for this issue. Yesterday I was emailing my notes because I need to uninstall the app and I'm not sure if I can reinstall it later, so I'm backing up my notes in my email. The thing is that after sending a good amount of notes, the function stopped working for some reason. I try to mail a note and instead of showing the "email sent" message I get a "failed to send mail" and I have no clue on what could be the problem. The app is up to date, I tried rebooting my phone and checked the sync is working, all as the help section said. Still can't send notes. Any ideas on what to do? I really need to back them up and uninstall... Thanks in advance.
  24. Since I upgraded my phone to Android Oreo 8 and I have been unable at most times to open a note from the widget. I keep pressing on a note, but it doesn't open. I had to remove the widget and get it back again so I can open my notes again, but the problem persists. Please can you fix this issue? My phone model is Sony Xperia A1 Thank you.
  25. The Android app has obnoxiously high-priority notifications when scanning for documents. When saving images or photos, Evernote will pop up with not one, but TWO notifications that cause my phone and smart watch to vibrate, while I'm using the damn thing. Then, while reorganizing and moving these images, Evernote pops up again with another notification that it's scanning for documents, and it buzzes vibrate every half second while the progress bar grows. This is intolerable behavior. I use Evernote for taking notes, not so I can use my phone as an "adult massage toy." This is the kind of misfeature and bad UX that should get the manager responsible sacked. Publicly.
