  1. I have the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, and when typing notes, the screen never times out or dims. I don't like this as it makes my battery die. I use this for class notes, and expect the screen to turn off after minute or so as is my setting for android. Is this meant to be? Thanks
  2. When I copy text in the Evernote app on Android and then paste that text in the same note I just copied it from in the same session it is pasted as a different font and size. In the Evernote app on Android it looks correct, but when I go to the desktop app on Windows the text is different. The text is originally Tahoma size 10, but it gets pasted as Helvetica Neue Size 12. Funny thing is if I type in a note in the Evernote app on Android the text is the correct font and size. I have this same issue on both my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) and my tablet (Sony Xperia Z4). I've tried restarting my devices. I've tried signing out and in to the app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my devices. Nothing has fixed it to date so I'm guessing it's a software bug. If anyone has anything else I can try let me know because I'm really tired of having to fix my text constantly.
  3. Hello! Contacting the developers. Why not add two additional functions. 1.There may insert the current GPS position (and a link to it) in the body note . 2. The ability to insert the current date in the body note .
  4. Dear users, every day I create a new note in which list various events; during the day the note is lengthened, how can I do to go faster at the bottom of the note to write the new event? There is a button, a shortcut, a way to avoid having to manually scroll through the display of my Android device? Many thanks from a novice user.
  5. I used a screenshot of this screen as an example. I can't take a screenshot of the lock screen. I turned on the Evernote option to create a note directly from the notification bar, and that's working fine. My issue is that on the lock screen and the always on display, the symbol is transparent. That makes it invisible on the always on display screen except for the border. In fact, it took me a while to figure out where that empty circle was coming from. In the lock screen, there's just an empty space where it should be. If you look at the attached screenshot of this screen, you can see an empty space to the left of the temperature (which is in blue). You'll have to take my word for it that the icon is there, and it's transparent. Is there a way to fix this? Evernote 7.1.7.1 Galaxy S8 Android 8.0.0
  6. Just like on the iPhone with Touch ID, the ability to unlock the app with fingerprint on Android. Since many Android handsets are coming with fingerprint scanner (I have a Nexus 5X), this would be very convenient.
  7. On my Moto 2nd Gen, I've been using Evernote for a couple of years and really depend on it. I also use TexPand for text expansion in my notes. Recently, my TexPand abbreviations only work in the Title of my Evernote notes and are not recognized in the note body text. TexPand still works with other apps. Has anybody else had a similar experience to me? Android version = 5.1, Evernote = 7.9.4 (Public), Texpand = 1.5.6 Worked fine in prior Evernote releases. Thanks!
  8. Under list options I have selected Show Notebook. I should be able to select any notebook from the Notebook dropdown, but most are not shown. How can I get all notebooks to show in the dropdown?
  9. Help! I love using Evernote but I can no longer type properly on it! So ever since an update a few months ago, I don't recall exactly when, whenever I type in Evernote android, it's been crazy glitchy. I can type smoothly on every single app on my phone except Evernote so I'm pretty sure Evernote's the issue here. Examples of glitches are: - typing "i" gets deleted after hitting spacebar - backspace on a word adds letters to the word? they --> backspace one letter and the word becomes --> theythe - deleting an empty line before a paragraph deletes the first word of that paragraph - cursor jumps around like when I try to move it - cursor also jumps to a different spot in the middle of typing (I didn't touch anything weird, like it'll jump up way to the top so no way could I have scrolled all the way up in the middle of typing) I can't remember all of them right now but typing is randomly slow as well. Also, my phone has lots of memory because I clean it up at least once a week, deleting cache and other files etc Does anyone else have these problems? Are they fixable?
  10. Hi all, I wanted to provide a update regarding changes to the minimum Android OS requirements for the upcoming Evernote 8.0 for Android release. When Evernote 8.0 for Android is released, users on Android version 4.x (KitKat) and lower, will no longer be able to upgrade to new versions of Evernote. As a workaround, users can upgrade their version of Android on their device to Lollipop or higher. Why are we stopping support of Android OS 4.x? The more versions of Android we support, the more difficult it is to make product changes. What’s the user experience for users on 4.x versions when there is a new app release? Users will not see updates in the store. For example, if a 4.x user is on an Evernote version lower than 8.0, they will only ever see that 8.0 version in the Play Store. Hopefully, this helps provide some clarification for these changes!
  11. Hi, When I annotate a pdf document I'd Like to highlight somme sentences whit a straight line (not a freehand quite straight) It's possible on the Android app? Thanks
  12. When you open an existing note in Evernote Android, the edit button appears in bottom right corner. Is there a way to turn this feature on/off? I am aware that it will become easier to create mistakes with unwanted editing. Thanks, Chris
  13. Hi all, is there a way to turn off shutter sound on camera? Is very annoying... Thank you. cz
  14. I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to write this as I do not see a Chromebook specific forum. If it needs to be posted somewhere else please feel free to move it or let me know so I can post there instead. A few problems that I see so far about using it on a Chromebook: There does not seem to be a print option. Unlike an android device a Chromebook is tended to be used more like a laptop for writing, data entry, etc. This makes it problematic for use as a document creator. To print I then have to take it out of Evernote and into GoogleDocs. PDF viewing is kind of clunky. Would like to be able to preview the PDF when I click on that note instead of having to open the note, then click the pdf and have it take up the entire screen. Some sort of embedding would be very handy. The editor seems to have some serious issues, especially when using lists/bullets. An up arrow will often move you many lines up instead of just up one line. Using any sort of keyboard shortcut (ctrl +alt + up arrow [home]) doesn't seem to function whatsoever. Selecting anything in the editor also seems to work strangely. If one holds down the shift key and then clicks the mouse in a new place, it does not select any text but simply moves the cursor to the new location. There does not seem to be a way to nest lists/bullets within each other. If you click one it changes them all. There also does not seem to be a way to enter a line return during a list item. You either have to create a faux list in order to have multiple paragraphs/lines in each item or you have to simply keep all list items on one single line. The built in spell checker for google does not seem to carry over into the Evernote app window. I am very happy with the concept of evernote on my Chromebook which I use for travel, studies, writing etc. It just needs some development time to be something I would use if I only had a chromebook. As it stands, I find having to add in other programs to do routine tasks or even moving to my Windows machine just to print/format/type to be quite annoying. Thanks in advance and look forward to seeing it continue to improve.
  15. Dictate function ceased working. It always worked well before. When I click the microphone icon it makes a beep and then stops immediately so I cannot dictate. Is this possibly related to latest Android update?
  16. Is it me or is it Evernote? There is no way that I can find to highlight text? No I don't want to change the color of the text I want to highlight it. Even the text editor that this forum uses has a highlighter. Please say it's just me.
  17. Should I just give up on this terrible product? 1 - I have been saving to Evernote via the Android Chrome and when I went to look at my notes on my PC Chrome, almost all of them are "Clip Failed". 2 -Seperate issue, I cannot use the Chrome extension because, as MANY other complained, it kept popping up windows. ANNOYING! Should this be renamed "NeverNote?"
  18. "Many sans serif typefaces don’t differentiate between the uppercase “I” and the lowercase “l” very well. (...) This a legibility problem."* https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/39543/is-there-a-sans-serif-font-that-appears-different-for-i-capital-i-and-l-small Especially when working with foreign and technical texts. Add Evernote's constant problems with formatting and there you have it. A mess. I'd opt for a mono font if I could. *And a backward embarrassment, I might add! Clearly the font selection nowadays usually caters to looks and cruft lovers.
  19. I've submitted the form for beta testing and now it is asking me to join a group but I don't see an Android beta testing group anywhere. Does anyone have a direct link? Thanks, Ricky
  20. Hi there, I would like to make a feature request - add a 'snooze' button next to the 'done' button on the reminder notification. If the snooze time period can be configurable, that will be a bonus.
  21. The main reason I am paying for premium is note history and I can't use it on Android app, this is unbelievable.so let's implement this crucial feature
  22. How do you create a new local (non sync) notebook that will store info. on Android device only?
  23. I would like an option to turn off the Evernote camera's shutter sound. There's a few workarounds right now, here's why I prefer an actual feature: Silence the phone: This is my current workaround and it's relatively easy to do. The problem is there is never a situation when I need or want to hear the shutter sound on my camera when using Evernote. Switching back and forth throughout the day is a nuisance, and Evernote goes to great pains to make its user experience fantastic. There's no need for something this small to get in the way of that. Force Evernote to use the phone's stock camera app or another camera app: I cannot find this setting, and even if I could, I wouldn't use it. I really like Evernote's camera. Turn off the stock camera's shutter setting: It's already off, so this is not a solution for me. I use the Galaxy S3 with Evernote, and I've seen users on the Note 2 with this issue as well. So, if an official setting to turn off the Evernote camera's sound could be implemented, that would be much appreciated.
  24. I love to share notebooks, but without a notification that the shared notebook has been updated (either by a new note created in the notebook OR an edit to an existing note), the shared notebooks lose a significant amount of their usefulness and utility. I've seen this suggestion posted a couple of times in this forum, and I hope that maybe this post will gain some traction unlike the others. I've seen at least one suggestion for a 3rd party workaround, but this really should be a native feature of the software, especially for paid users such as myself. Strangely, one of the features that I like about Evernote is how streamlined it is, and the lack of superfluous notifications like many apps bombard you with. However, in this one instance, notifications would be very welcome! If my teammate makes an edit to a notebook, a popup in Windows or my phone would let me know to review their edits. I was an early adopter of Evernote, and this is really my biggest complaint about the software. Please correct this glaring omission! Thanks!
  25. Hi, I do love Evernote, which is a real game-changer and so useful. It is also relatively easy to use, except for one major drawback, which has always surprised me since it is about notes-taking: highlighting in the notes is a real pain! Whether on Ipad, Windows or Android, it is always so complicated, because on Android or iOS, the virtual keyboard has to be on (limits the place on the screen) + selection is not easy, and it is necessary to click several times on the highlight button if we have several parts of the note to highlight. It would be so much easier if it worked like in Word or even better in a pdf - select the tool, no keyboard, read easily and then highlight with you stylus /finger (if tactile screen) or mouse. For the moment, it is all but easy... Thanks in advance for considering this request Loïc
