  1. I like to use tables to align my data, which works great with a keyboard. How do I insert a row or column using my android phone or tablet?
  2. There's a big feature missing in evernote shared notebooks. There should be a feature of getting notifications and alerts when someone edits a share note or notebook.
  3. With my new Nexus 6P android phone it seems impossible to add a checklist to a note. The instructions say to swipe up from the bar above the keyboard, but this does not bring up the formatting bar. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a new bug now that Evernote has gone to the aggressive upgrade mode?
  4. Please add note creation date time change possibility in android (first of all) and web clients. thx in advance!
  5. Hi All, I know this has been asked before, but is their any way to display a single note on the home screen. Examples of when this would be useful - Task list, Shopping list. Their is an app that offers this feature - http://stickytext.android.informer.com/ but it just crashes on my phone. Thanks David
  6. Would be great to be able to merge notes within the app. I merge notes all the time on desktop, which is good for consolidating related content. Would love to be able to do this on mobile.
  7. Hi - I have captured several notes with images (photos) and one note in particular shows only the last 3 images. All the others just show an image placeholder/icon. How do I recover these pictures? Any help on recovering these pictures would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Hi i wonder anyone have the same issue like me. I am using samsung tab 10.1 spen. currently i am fan of evernote and i using it everyday to take note. But my experience with handwriting on evernote is too terrible. the speed of ink is too slow, it not appear right after my stylus but delay for a while. But on other app like onenote or squid are not. This is my video when writing: Evernote writing on samsung spen Hopefully evernote team will optimize it more.
  9. Hi, I came up with a simple solution for creating encrypted notes on Android (since the mobile app does not offer this functionality yet). Simply create a note with just a couple characters encrypted in the Evernote desktop version. Copy it a 100 times or so and put all those notes in a dedicated template notebook. Then create a shortcut to that Notebook. When you now want to create an encrypted note in Android, simply find the shortcut to the notebook and open one of the template notes. Then decrypt by entering the password. Now you can edit this note in Android and save it to whatever notebook you want to. Sure, every so often the template folder needs to be stocked up with new templates but it's a temporary solution that works for me. Hope this helps somebody. Cheers
  10. I have just confirmed a successful referral to one of my friends. He had created his own Evernote account and already installed the app in his own android tablet. I am sure that I have already satisfied the criteria as how a successful referral is confirmed. After this, I check on my points and I still had zero, which is I know, should have gotten up to 10 points because of my successful referral. What happened to my supposedly earned points? Am I still missing anything?
  11. After a recent malware scare, the document scanning app CamScanner has been pulled from the Play store. If you have a version installed on your Android device, you might want to uninstall it at least temporarily and look into this a bit further. Other versions of the app are - apparently- safe. See this external post for more details - https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/08/28/camscanner-play-store-malware/
  12. Hi, on windows there is a that genius but simple feature that if you don't set a title the first line is used. This is such a time saver. This is a feature I desperately miss on android and often is a hindrance while captureing input. If I create a note to self e.g. via google now it creates a note with the transcribed text in the body. And the title is empty or filled with at least for me not usefull information. Same aplies if I use the evernote integrated transcribe function. So here is my request. Please use the first note line as title/subject and/or add an option to configure this. Regards Manuel
  13. Among the features of Evernote opinions on improving the "Sort notes. As my case to store a variety of information in Evernote, "Note 1" and "Note 2 'will have a totally different uses. I want to use as the "Notes 1 '' Creation Date ',' Note 2 '' title sequence, in some cases, are not supported by Evernote features now. I want to be each 'note sorting criteria "Every notebook. If this function is added, I think many users would be much more useful to Evernote. This sentence by using the Google Translator
  14. I don't use the business card function in Evernote but I DO use the Android camera scanning widget a lot. I find it frustrating when scanning a business card (or something that kind of looks like it might be a business card) and I am prompted to select what kind of document I want to save it as because the app thinks it's a business card. I don't use the business card function so I'd really like to just bypass this prompt altogether. In my mind, if I have the app set to document then it's a document (automatic mode). If I have it set to "mountain" then it's a plain photo (manual mode). I've already told it what the type is. There are far too many clicks and taps as it is to get a note saved. Did I mention that I don't use the business card function in Evernote? Here's a thought, make business card one of the settings in the upper right corner of the app. Instead of "automatic mode" and "manual mode" there can be 3 and you call them "Doc", "Bus" and "Mountain". Then, if you are scanning a business card you can tell it so even before taking the pic. Then it won't have to prompt us about saving it as a business card.
  15. I think we can all agree that one of the important thing in Evernote is editing notes so why does Evernote have such a horrible editor? I'm on Android so I don't know if it's better or the same on IOS. So I open note and scroll down till I find something then I have to click edit and it send me back to the top of the page. Now I need to scroll down with half the view-able area (keyboard up) to where i was. Why is there an edit button in the first place? Why can't it put my cursor in the spot I wanted to start editing instead of going to the top of the screen? If you compare to 2 other competing apps (Google Keep and Microsoft OneNote) both of these other apps use a modern mobile note editing tool. You can scroll the note and simply click anywhere on it to start editing it and your cursor drops in right where you clicked. No hitting an edit button, no bouncing back to the top, no additional scrolling. I can edit then dismiss my keyboard and scroll some more then edit again. Why is Evernote so behind on such basic/simple/core technology? Although Evernote is very feature rich it's core functionality like the editor needs to be modernized and fast! I sent a request to Evenote over a year ago to address this and still no change. I'm seriously thinking of moving all my stuff over to OneNote (100's of notes) as it's simply can't stand the mobile editor in Evernote! I just don't get why Evernote does not address this! Do you guys not use your own product? If there is any confusion as to what I am talking about just load up Google Keep or Microsoft OneNote and compare note editing with Evernote...
  16. Search has stopped working for me. Works fine with notebooks I created, but doesn't work at all if the notebook was shared with me. I get no results even when there obviously should be. I deleted and reinstalled EN but problem persists. I opened a ticket with Support but response said to expect a 1 week (!) delay in response. Meanwhile EN pretty much useless. 17. I carry with me multi-GB notebooks, where each note could be a few MB due to pictures and pdfs (for instance food recipes). These are no fit for 4G connections with usage restrictions, and so I have opted to make them offline. Unfortunately, this consumes all available space on my 16GB Android phone (Xperia Z2), and so I have bought a 32GB expansion card. Now customer support is telling me I cannot manually set the download location! This should be user configurable - either on a per-notebook basis, or as a general setting. So I am raising this as a improvement suggestion for the developers. Other threads dealing with this problem: ThisSelectable offline folder path?
  18. Hi out there, on my Android smartphone (GT-I9300 (Galaxy S III), I use the latest version of Evernote: v6.0.1.1 (I use Evernote Premium) Viewing long texts in evernote, I have not got any scroll bar any more. So I cant see where in the document I am. This makes working with evernote not very easy. How do I get my Scroll bar back? Thanks!
  19. Hello Everyone, We just finished rolling out our 8.11 update to 100% of our Android customers. Improved: - We've spiffed up search to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Fixed: - The Saved Search shortcut in the home screen was rudely ignoring tag wildcards. We gave it a stern talking-to and it’s behaving itself now. - When you opened a note from search results, text highlighting would sometimes disappear, but that’s a thing of the past. - We made some security updates because, well, it's important. And it feels good.
  20. On Windows you can create multiple sub levels for tags which makes for great organization but this is non existent on Android. Please update!
  22. Hi, I read my notes by "created" from older to newer. In Windows I can do it. But in Android I can not find this option? Is there a way?
  23. Hi there, If you’re experiencing syncing issues with Evernote for Android, please see the following steps you can take to try and troubleshoot the issue, and hopefully fix it yourself: Check Evernote's status blog- Each week, the Evernote servers are updated with new versions of the various software components that power the service. During this time, the service can be slow or even intermittently unavailable. Check status.evernote.com to ensure that there isn't a server-side problem causing your sync error. Evernote Basic - If you have Evernote Basic, verify that you don't have more than two devices associated with your account in your account settings. Make sure you’re on the most current version of Evernote for Android. If you are not, please update (DO NOT reinstall) to the current version via the Play Store and retry syncing. Check your Evernote 'Trash' for any notes/items that you wish to keep. If there aren’t any notes you would like to keep, empty your Evernote Trash and retry syncing. (The Evernote ‘Trash’ is the third to last item listed on the bottom of the left-hand side bar) Try updating, and/or temporarily disabling, any security software or VPN that could cause internet connectivity issues and see if sync then works If this doesn’t work, see if there are any specific notes that are causing the syncing issue: With Evernote open, pull down on the screen to force a sync. It will fail, but this will put fresh data in the activity log. Tap on the ’three dot’ icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen to open the ‘Settings' menu. From the ’Settings’ menu, scroll to to the bottom and tap on Support > Send Activity Log Send the activity log to an email address you own Open the log file using an app like MS Word, Notepad, or Apple Notes and do a word search for Error, Failed, and/or Exception If you see the titles of one of your notes listed next to Error, Failed, and/or Exception, try copying the content of that note to a different location like, and then delete that note and empty it from the trash. (Repeat this process each note title you see) Retry syncing If you’re still experiencing sync issues, execute the following steps to rebuild the database on your Android device by reinstalling it. DISCLAIMER: (Be sure to execute the following steps exactly as they are listed. Improperly following the reinstall steps may cause irreparable damage and the loss of some of your notes/notebooks. If you do not feel comfortable proceeding with reinstalling Evernote on your Android Device, or need more assistance, stop here and open a support ticket or reach out to Shane D. via DM.) To reinstall Evernote for Android follow these steps: Before reinstalling Evernote for Android, make sure to copy the contents of any unsynced notes somewhere outside of the Evernote app. Any unsynced notes (notes marked by red corners) and photos are deleted when you reinstall the app. To save any unsynced photos to your Gallery, tap the options menu (three dots) and select Save to Downloads. If you're an advanced user and have many unsynced notes, let me know and I'll provide more instructions on how to save these. Then follow these steps: 1. Open the Play Store 2. Search for Evernote, choose it, then tap Uninstall 3. Restart your Android device 4. Download Evernote from the Play Store Hopefully, these steps helped you to fix any syncing issues you’ve been encountering. However, If none of these suggestions help, please see these best practices for opening a support ticket, and then contact us. If you'd like to open a ticket immediately, it's helpful to include the following in your ticket submission: A copy of your activity log A description of what is happening What version of Evernote you are using Which device your notes are not showing up on A list of all the steps you took before you contacted Evernote Support
