  1. Every web page I try to clip on an Android phone to send to Evernote fails with a "Clip failed" error. It used to work fine for me, but something has gone wrong. On the phone, in a Chrome Browser open to any web site, I click on the "Share" option, select "Add to Evernote", tap the elephant to select "Clip full article" (if it isn't the default from the previous "Add to Evernote" command). It says "Saving to Evernote", and then shows a checkmark seeming to indicate it worked right. When I open Evernote, it shows a note with only the title of the web page (none of the contents or text on the web page) and an error message that says "Clip Failed". (I can turn off the "Clip full article" option, but then I only get the URL and a jpeg image of the first part of a web page, but one of the advantages of Evernote over Google's Keep is it's ability to save full web pages (which may change over time) and to be able to search the text of pages you've saved.) I can save pages from a Chrome browser on a Mac just fine, using the Evernote Web Clipper extension. On the Android phone, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Evernote, but that didn't help. Any help would be much appreciated. -Greg H. Update Feb. 5, 2018: I reported this to Evernote support on Jan. 27. They told me that the development team has been made aware of the problem and are working diligently on it. Today (Feb. 5) they told me that this bug is proving to be rather complex to nail down, but that their team is very close to a solution. Update: Feb. 24, 2018: The problem that I originally reported above has been fixed (perhaps in the past week or two). Other people might still have problems on their phones, but it's not a problem on my android phone. If you think you have problems with clipping, I suggest you start a new thread, and that you report the problem directly to Evernote support. (There are still some problems with evernote clipping. For example, web sites that require login or subscription (like the nytimes.com web site) won't work or will get truncated articles because the evernote clipping app doesn't have access to your account information and accesses those web sites as a guest. But these issues are separate from the one I originally reported, which is now working as well as it used to.) I won't be following this topic any more.
  2. I was delighted to learn that Google Assistant now works directly in some Android apps, including Evernote. You can create a note in Evernote simply by by telling Google Assistant "Create a note xyz," where xyz is the note. (If you have more than one note-taking app on your phone, you may need to say, "Take a note in Evernote xyz.")
  3. Hello, I have missing toolbar with formatting, checkboxes etc when I'm editing my notes. I'm using Evernote on my Honor 8 with Android 7, Evernote version 7.12 and Gboard keyboard. Thanks David
  4. Search has stopped working for me. Works fine with notebooks I created, but doesn't work at all if the notebook was shared with me. I get no results even when there obviously should be. I deleted and reinstalled EN but problem persists. I opened a ticket with Support but response said to expect a 1 week (!) delay in response. Meanwhile EN pretty much useless. 5. Authentication does not work. I have the biometric scanner to authorize before I get to my notes, but when I press cancel it open them, not show the keypad to enter a passcode. This only happen when I start the application, but when the application is open and I go to another application and get back it works perfectly
  6. Sharing from Netflix is not working with newest version. It appears as all saved on the normal way with confirmation that it is saved but it does't appear on andoid, nor web, windows
  7. Is there anyone who has installed the new version on Android and been using it? It hasn't rolled out to me yet, and I've seen all sorts of horror stories about the Windows version. But since most of those concern the loss of features that were never in the Android app in the first place, I'm not sure they're relevant. So how is v. 10 working for you on Android? Should I be puppy dog excited or afraid, very afraid?
  8. Hi, I am using Evernote 10 for Android and capturing notes is extremely slow. (For example from the Feedly application) Regards!
  9. How can I get back the old version of Android? It takes time to open the app, but now I noticed that I even could not share a pdf doc to EN. I have to send by email first and then from my laptop to EN. Ridiculous. Incredible how EN staff can kill their own product.

  11. All three existing view like list view, card view and large card view does not go well with mobile viewing. It does not show full title and also it does not give overview of content. It would be far better if for mobile another view like "magazine view" or full screen card view can be implemented. I use feedly.. it gives very much what should be on mobile default view.
  12. It looks like Android is the last in this roll-out You might want to disable auto-update There are a few issues/bugs being worked om
  13. So I'm in the app, with a note open, I click the three dots, select 'add to homescreen'. The problem is that the newly created shortcut doesn't work IF Evernote is already open. All it does is open Evernote on whatever note was previously open. However if Evernote is closed, the shortcut works fine. What's even more mysterious is that my older home screen shortcuts work fine all the time. It's just all recent shortcuts I've added which don't work. I did recently downgrade from premium to free, could this be related?
  14. Hi All, I know this has been asked before, but is their any way to display a single note on the home screen. Examples of when this would be useful - Task list, Shopping list. Their is an app that offers this feature - http://stickytext.android.informer.com/ but it just crashes on my phone. Thanks David
  15. In a blog post yesterday called "Unlocking Evernote's Future," Ian Small announced the release of the updated Evernote for iOS. (Such an announcement has also been at the top of the forum screens.) I took a look at the featured updates for iOS, and while the navigation looks like simply an upgrade to match the Android app, the renewed editor looks like it will incorporate many of the features Android users have been requesting, including control over fonts and colors, headers, etc. In his blog post, Small also says, "Soon, we’ll bring the new app experience to our Windows, Mac, and Android users, rolling out to each platform as final testing rises to meet our expectations." So there's something to look forward to, hopefully in the fairly near future. The post is well worth reading, and not just for iOS users. Small acknowledges the delays in development and encountering problems they didn't know they had. But he also says, "We’re not stopping there, because we’ve worked too hard to allow these shiny new apps to stagnate. You can look forward to a new era of innovation at Evernote, and we’re excited about what the next year will bring." I'm not expecting all of this to spring forth next week, but it looks like the coming months could be very interesting for Evernote.
  16. Hello. I'm a premium Evernote user. One of my main uses of Evernote is to make lists of websites or articles I find useful in a single note as multi level bulleted lists and linking them to their URL so it's easily clickable. This is very easy to do in the Desktop and Web app using the Ctrl+K shortcut or the Add Link button. But the Android app doesn't have an option to add hyperlink to a word or a sentence. This is a very basic function and should have been easy to implement even on Android. I'm posting this forum post from my phone and even this text box has a link option but the Evernote app doesn't! I would request the Android developer team to consider it. A simple button beside the Bold, Italic buttons at the bottom to add a hyperlink would be very useful. Thanks.
  17. Dear Developers, It should help me if I could create and edit tables in the android app. I use tables in the desktop app. But because I cannot edit or create them using the app, I often decides not to create a table, because I cannot add a row or such Kind regards,
  18. Hi i wonder anyone have the same issue like me. I am using samsung tab 10.1 spen. currently i am fan of evernote and i using it everyday to take note. But my experience with handwriting on evernote is too terrible. the speed of ink is too slow, it not appear right after my stylus but delay for a while. But on other app like onenote or squid are not. This is my video when writing: Evernote writing on samsung spen Hopefully evernote team will optimize it more.
  19. i never use this but it takes the 3 most prominent spaces at the top.
  20. Is it possible to change the default font size in the mobile apps? Too small right now.
  21. I would really appreciate it if I can change the formatting for my notes on my Android app. Or more importantly, set the default text format and size for my mobile app. At the moment my android and pc apps use different default fonts and sizes. See attached. This is only visible on the desktop app. And I have tried changing the font on the desktop App. At the moment I need to "simplify formatting" on almost every note.
  22. Would be great to be able to merge notes within the app. I merge notes all the time on desktop, which is good for consolidating related content. Would love to be able to do this on mobile.
  23. Dear Evernote, I've been a premium user for quite a while, and I use Evernote quite extensively to sort my work notes. I use it on android devices - samsung tablet and samsung note. Recently I was testing new ipads pro we might be getting from work and I was shocked. Why are we get a secondary experience on android?! Handwriting has a significant delay(lag) even on samsung note 10, palm rejection is nonexisting and keyboard doesn't disaper when I'm adding a handwritten note. Not to mention no s-pen support -which I'm not sure is your fault. Ipad experience is miles ahead, at least when it comes to handwriting. I know there is fewer devices to optimize for when it comes to Apple products but Android version of handwriting feels like it was made for those super old tablets with resistive touch screens and ghastly rubber styluses.. (Honestly It's not that terrible, just after having short apple experience I'm quite disappointed) Best regards, MO
  24. The recent Android update has an improved Web Clipper. It looks great and I thought I can now stop using Pocket. But most of the times, it doesn't work. The clipped note is an empty note with a "clipping..." message.
  25. I carry with me multi-GB notebooks, where each note could be a few MB due to pictures and pdfs (for instance food recipes). These are no fit for 4G connections with usage restrictions, and so I have opted to make them offline. Unfortunately, this consumes all available space on my 16GB Android phone (Xperia Z2), and so I have bought a 32GB expansion card. Now customer support is telling me I cannot manually set the download location! This should be user configurable - either on a per-notebook basis, or as a general setting. So I am raising this as a improvement suggestion for the developers. Other threads dealing with this problem: ThisSelectable offline folder path?
