  1. A couple of days ago, I noticed on my Android phone that the "Share" icon had changed on some New York Times articles. Instead of the three dots in the corner, which led me to the usual three-pronged Share icon, there was a white, curved right arrow. When I click on it, I have the option to share the article by email, to Twitter, to Reddit, etc. (there are several choices), but the Evernote selection is gone. Evernote Support confirmed that the feature had been changed and said that it would pass on the "request" to renew it to Evernote. At whose request was this change made? Evernote's? The New York Times? Why on earth would anyone eliminate such a useful feature? I save a lot of NYT articles to my phone. Once again, I'm faced with the problem of an expensive app that doesn't perform the most basic functions. How did this happen? [UPDATE] Forum member jefito told me that it was possible to access the traditional Share icon by going to NYT via Chrome. (I always use the NYT app.) That's better than nothing, but I don't understand why the Share to Evernote feature is gone from the app itself. It also would have been nice for Evernote Support to have suggested this workaround when I contacted them -- all they said was that the feature was gone.
  2. I recently changed phones from a Samsung S6 to a LG G6 Android phone. I had two Evernote notebooks on the Samsung, the major one was froghairjax@gmail.com and I had 90 notes in that notebook. The other was ....@att.net, my primary email account with Evernote, and it only had six notes. When the Verizon rep brought over apps from my Samsung to my LG the Evernote account only had the ATT.net notes and the Gmail.com notebook was missing. I went to Evenote.com on my PC and I found the Gmail.com notebook but no way to get it onto my Android phone, so I had to recreate many notes to the ATT.net notebook. Today when I went back to Evernote to look at the Gmail notebook again it was not there. Does anyone know how to find that Gmail notebook and get the notes onto my Android phone?
  3. Hello everybody, I encountered this weird problem twice. Here is the scenario in case that someone wants to regenerate the problem. Created a note with some text and photos. Saved the note. Selected the note, opened the menu and selected share. Got a message telling me that I don't have a permission to share the note (see the image) Tried to open the note but got the message in the second image. After reopening Evernote, the note completely disappeared! How can I recover it? This seems a bug in Evernote. I found that trying to share a note by pressing the Share button from inside the note issues a message telling that thenote needs to be synced first. However, trying to share the note by marking it and selecting Share from the menu gives this problem. P.S. Syncing my notes didn't solve the problem.
  4. Please make presentation mode available from the android app.
  5. I recently had to get a new phone, old phone died and I had Evernote on it with notes. I installed Evernote on new phone and thought the saved notes from old phone would come with the app. How can I recover my old phones notes?
  6. I wonder can "layering" function be allowed for hand-writing notes. Like those in art apps This is also very useful when we would like to learn by: -testing ourselves with Q&A -showing certain information and hide something at the same time for clearer organistion
  7. After I open a note it says "you don't have permission to edit this note". I changed phones. The new phone is where this happens. Also, my older notes give me a different message. I can't even open them. it just says cannot open note or something like that. Can I get some help?
  8. I see yesterday a feature was added where if upload a picture taken of text the picture will automatically crop the picture to only include a certain portion of the original picture. Unfortunately, it also cuts off part of the page that includes other information (e.g., pictures on the side, page numbers). How can this feature be turned off/made optional?
  9. Anyone who has actually used superscripts or subscripts in Evernote probably knows that the line height changes when you use them. This is somewhat annoying, and I'm guessing not that difficult for Evernote to fix.
  10. If I insert checkbox on Android, checkbox and one space is inserted. If I insert checkbox on Windows, checkbox and no spaces are inserted. This difference makes hard to edit one list on multiple devices. I suggest to: - don't insert space after checkbox on Android to match Windows style, - increase distance between checkbox and text (margin) on Android and on the Web to match Windows distance.
  11. Why is the Evernote Android 8 widget buggy ? I was using Evernote on an Android 7 phone to quickly store reminders for tasks, and I used the widget to display the reminders on a separate screen on the phone. When I completed a task I would go to the widget screen and tick the box next to the reminder to close the task out. In business with numerous tasks this was a very useful feature. Now with an Android 8 phone I can still quickly store reminders and display them on a separate screen. But when it comes to tapping the screen to tick the box next to the reminder the screen freezes and I cannot tick the box. This makes the feature useless. In fact I've stopped using Evernote to store task reminders. I use Google keep which always works. I've noticed that in the last year (18 months) there has only been a couple of updates for Evernote on Android. Is this the beginning of the end ?
  12. Hello evernote team I'm an evernote plus user. I take notes with evernote daily. It's very difficult to scroll through a long note & reach the bottom of that note & add more to that note. It would be really nice if you can add an option to reach the end of a note with a single click.
  13. How do I encrypt a note? google search said to highlight note, righ click and pick encrypt. Don't get that option when I do this. Please Help. Chris
  14. Hi all, Great product! The only thing that i have found that is missing is that you cannot sort by Tag. In my case i have work and personal related notes that i Tag to keep them separate.
  15. Prior to the recent Android app update to v. 7.8.2, I could select some text in the note editor and then drag it to a new location. I have to cut and paste. The improvements to the editor introduced in 7.8.2 (brought about by using an embedded version of Chrome for Android, according to this post) unfortunately "disimproved" some features (using the Samsung S-pen and highlighting phone numbers as links to put into the dialer). Apparently this is another one. Has anyone else had this experience?
  16. Hello There are several notes that got locked up for unknown reasons.. please help Never had this issue before
  17. Hey, I am using the latest version of Evernote for Android on my Sony Xperia Z5. Everything seems to work fine, but the voice recording function seems gone. Am I having a case of the stupid, or is the function somehow not available any more? Thanks, Rafe
  18. I have been looking all across the web to see if the Evernote app for android wear supports creating new quick notes. I have been using The Secret Weapon in conjunction with Evernote for over a year now and I am always looking for the absolute fastest way to add notes to my inbox. When ideas are hitting me thick and fast, pulling my phone out of my pocket, unlocking it and pressing quick note is inconvenient. while it is a lot faster than using a note pad like I used to I want to make it even more efficient. I want to be able to add a quick note directly from android watch. this would be THE ONLY reason I would buy a watch. Can someone tell me if this is possible? All I have seen on sites that review the app is the ability to work through checklists, and add new items to checklists. I am interested in how this actually works, as i like 1 note per idea/to do. I don't like several checkboxes getting caught up in one note, as each item could have different priorities and contexts. All in all, I just want to know if I can make a quick, stand alone note on android wear, that goes to my default notebook in Evernote.
  19. Regarding handwritten notes, I'd like to suggest: 1) Copy/paste selections. - It's only possible to move selections around. We can't cut/copy or paste them. 2) S-Pen support: 2.1) Use fingers as erasers and/or selection tool and S-Pen as writing utensil. 2.2) Sometimes what I write shows tiny lines around because of my palm on the screen. 3) Type text onto handwritten notes. 4) Paste images onto handwritten notes. 5) More pen colors! 6) Show eraser size. 7) Stroke eraser. 8) Create folders within notebooks. Thanks in advance.
  20. Refer attachment. Mostly I paste from Evernote to other note or messenger. It will show more extra space between the sentences. Anyone have solution?
  21. Hello, I'm a recent user of Evernote and have just started using the Reminders function on Android. Excellent and reliable; however, I don't receive a Reminder notification pulse light on the phone, so if I don't hear the Reminder I miss it. Does anyone know if a pulse light is part of the notifications setup and, if so, how is it activated? Thanks! WMP
  22. Fingerprint unlock won't work after adding 3rd fingerprint to Note 8. I had my wife add her fingerprint to my existing 2-fingerprints (5-limit) and now it keeps saying 'Fingerprint not available at the moment'?
  23. Why can't I add a URL to a note in Android Evernote if it doesn't already have one? This is an issue because I share good articles from Pocket to Evernote. However, the URL doesn't transfer. I have to tag the note with a Task, and then add the URL later. Not very efficient.
  24. Since the last android update (v7.17 updated Feb 9 2018) clipping articles on the Pixel 2 changes the formatting of articles into an almost unreadable simple format. Picture shows the article clipped on the android vs the article clipped with the web clipper, simplified format.
  25. In some apps on my Android phone, the clipboard menu that comes up by long-pressing is a toolbar with not only the Select all, Cut, Copy, and Paste options, but a Clipboard option that gives access to the system clipboard with the 20 most recent items. That is enormously useful when doing research: I can select and copy multiple text items, even in multiple apps, and then go to my main writing/editing app and paste them in in whatever order I need. The Evernote app does not have this capability, and I'd like to make a strong request that it be included in future versions. Thanks for listening! And fellow users, if this sounds helpful to you too, please up-vote the request! (Or if you've already got it, please let me know your Android and app versions.)
