  1. Thanks guys, installed the new beta client and taking it for a spin. I notice that the 'recent notes' and doing a search from the client takes you to the mobile site? Is this to be the final way the client works? Its a great start! Thanks again, Mike
2. Hi, The Evernote Android client does not seem to hook into the OS's "Share" functionality correctly. Now that I have installed the client, when I try to "Share" an item from an app, I am asked to choose between using "Android System" and "Evernote" to complete the action. The correct behaviour would be to include Evernote as an option in Android's Share menu (along with all of the other sharing options I have installed, Twidroid, Email, Gmail, etc.). Thanks, Trent
  3. When clicking on native text fields (such as search), they are overlapped by the keyboard by about 5-10 pixels. Keyboard: default Phone: MyTouch3g Incidentally, I thank you for making a more friendly version for Android. However, I really hope in the future you guys are able to make it fully integrated, and not make us use the browser to interact with notes. As much as I love Android, the browser can be sloooooooow, and quite a memory hog.
  4. Hi, just fired up the client to test something, noticed a new version, so I upgraded. Any changes we should know about? Many thanks Mike
  5. We've updated the beta version of the Android client. Version 1.0 Beta 5 addresses some problems uploading notes that contained blank titles. To update Android, launch Evernote for Android and select "Check for updates" from the menu. In the future the application will automatically check for updates. There are still a handful of known problems which we're working on but we welcome more feedback. If you have notes which will not upload, you must select "Remove all" from the "Pending notes" menu. Those notes will be lost. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Since updating to beta 4 I can no longer upload snapshots taken. Message: Error communicating with Evernote servers. Had no issue with previous versions of the beta.
  7. If you are recording an audio note or have a note recorded and not saved and then change the orientation of the screen it looses the note. When it is recording it starts counting the recording time. When you change orientation it goes back to "Press Record". This happens if you change orientation from opening the keyboard or from rotating the screen. This is a problem that several of the "voice recorder" apps on android suffer from.
  8. Woohoo! Ok so firstly, thank you for the Android beta! Now, a bug report: This doesn't actually relate to the new android client, but became apparent through use of it. It seems that the web interface is getting stuck if I try to open a pdf attached to a note. It shows up in the note as a button, I click on it and then I just get a blank page. There's no way to long press and save the attachment to the device or anything like that, and this is slightly frustrating as 90% of my notes are pdfs (which have come straight from my ScanSnap on EN's recommendation). A fix would be greatly appreciated!
  9. Are audio notes supposed to play in the desktop client? I was surprised when, after recording several "audio notes" on my shiny new android client, I returned to my desktop Evernote and saw they were attachments to notes that opened in QuickTime player. This leads me to two questions: 1. Is the the behavior for audio notes from other mobile clients or is this specific to the android client? 2. Are there plans to integrate playback of audio attachments into the desktop client? I am using the 3.5 alpha windows client and saw the same behavior there. I'm just curious if this is a planned feature or not. Thanks Canyon R
  10. I think the Evernote icon is too small, it does not match other Android icons. See design notes here http://developer.android.com/guide/prac ... esign.html Tiny thing I know Mike
  11. We are looking for a few people to test the first Beta version of Evernote's Android client. You can download the Android "APK" application file from this location: http://s.evernote.com/androidbeta There are a few options for how you can install this on your device. You can try: 1) You can install the application directly over the air if you first change the configuration of your device to accept the signature on your application. Enable this option on your device: Settings -> Applications -> Unknown sources Then you can download the app directly from the browser and install it from the Downloads screen. 2) You can download the APK file to your device's memory card, and then use the "Apps Installer" application from the market to install the application: http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/google-android/articles/37151.aspx This "Evernote for Android" forum was created for discussions about this client. Let us know what problems you see. Thanks
