  1. In the remember the milk app you can swipe to get to another screen. This would be excellent for the Evernote app to get to recent notes, saved searches etc. The homescreen also has this functionality.
  2. Hey beta testers - Thanks for all the feedback. We've been quiet for a bit working on the next major advancement to the Android client. You will now be able to update (using auto-update in the client) to version Evernote for Android 1.1B1, or you can access latest version at: http://s.evernote.com/androidbeta. The BIG news is we've shed the mobile Javascript UI for browsing notes and put it all in the native app. We've still got a bunch more work to make this feature complete, but we'd love to get y'all to try it out. Next on our list will be email notes, access to saved searches and more note details. Please let us know what you think!
  3. So, I've uploaded a new note from my HTC HERO (recent stock rom as of today). I can search for the note, both from tag and text within pictire. I can view it under recent notes WITH thumbnail. I have checked that I can access it from web and from my laptop. But I CAN'T open the note on my mobile. It just keeps loading and not schowing the note/picture.
  4. Would it be possible to add the ability to take portrait snapshots? I find that most documents I want to turn into notes are portrait. It would also be nice if the trackball acted as a shutter button like on the Camera application. Thank you.
  5. Hi, I'm running the newly updated beta 11 release. Noticing notes/photos getting stuck still. I snapped a couple of photos with the app added a simple title and let them upload, only problem they didn't. That was a good 3 or 4 hours ago. I was in coverage with at least gprs at the time and soon after 3g. Now I am at home for 2 hours it has had wifi coverage. Here are some screenshots, I hope it helps.
  6. Hey folks - We published a small fix to the beta. If you enable GPS under "Location settings" we used to shamelessly use your battery even when the application wasn't in the foreground. Now GPS tracking only occurs when the application is in front which should improve battery life. http://s.evernote.com/androidbeta
  7. Hi, when I login to https://www.evernote.com/m from my G1 Android phone, I can view one of my notes, ie a photo note, jpg, but I see no options to make the note larger? It just appears as a tiny thumbnail. There are no options or links at the bottom of the page which allow me to view it full size etc? Thanks Mike
  8. Hi, Am trying to use Evernote from my Android phone. have come to the conclusion that the best way to get an image from my phone to Evernote Web is by emailing them. This has worked well except that the images are quite large. Previous posts indicate that resizing might be better done in the application version of Evernote rather than the web access. Just wondering if others have found better solutions for the G1? Cheers
  9. Hey folks - We've updated the Android beta version to 1.0B11. There's been a few updates that I haven't posted about but this a bigger milestone so here's a few details that cover the last couple auto-updates. - Correct integration with Android 'Share with' feature - Provide more info about upload errors so problems are more easily diagnosed - Users can now discard audio note - Store snapshot in internal folder if device hove no SD Card - If note discarded - delete file attachment if needed - Removed duplicate check for updates - Organize snapshots and images under directory, delete when done - User can now select an individual pending items and remove it - Better memory usage when taking a snapshot Also, the mobile web version will re-flow the thumbnails when the phone is in landscape mode. Your feedback on the betas have been invaluable so please keep them coming!!! You rule! Remaining known issues: - Search box overlaps with keyboard on the MyTouch - You really really really want an all native client that doesn't launch the browser
  10. Thanks guys, installed the new beta client and taking it for a spin. I notice that the 'recent notes' and doing a search from the client takes you to the mobile site? Is this to be the final way the client works? Its a great start! Thanks again, Mike
11. Hi, The Evernote Android client does not seem to hook into the OS's "Share" functionality correctly. Now that I have installed the client, when I try to "Share" an item from an app, I am asked to choose between using "Android System" and "Evernote" to complete the action. The correct behaviour would be to include Evernote as an option in Android's Share menu (along with all of the other sharing options I have installed, Twidroid, Email, Gmail, etc.). Thanks, Trent
  12. When clicking on native text fields (such as search), they are overlapped by the keyboard by about 5-10 pixels. Keyboard: default Phone: MyTouch3g Incidentally, I thank you for making a more friendly version for Android. However, I really hope in the future you guys are able to make it fully integrated, and not make us use the browser to interact with notes. As much as I love Android, the browser can be sloooooooow, and quite a memory hog.
  13. Hi, just fired up the client to test something, noticed a new version, so I upgraded. Any changes we should know about? Many thanks Mike
  14. We've updated the beta version of the Android client. Version 1.0 Beta 5 addresses some problems uploading notes that contained blank titles. To update Android, launch Evernote for Android and select "Check for updates" from the menu. In the future the application will automatically check for updates. There are still a handful of known problems which we're working on but we welcome more feedback. If you have notes which will not upload, you must select "Remove all" from the "Pending notes" menu. Those notes will be lost. Thanks for the feedback.
  15. Since updating to beta 4 I can no longer upload snapshots taken. Message: Error communicating with Evernote servers. Had no issue with previous versions of the beta.
  16. If you are recording an audio note or have a note recorded and not saved and then change the orientation of the screen it looses the note. When it is recording it starts counting the recording time. When you change orientation it goes back to "Press Record". This happens if you change orientation from opening the keyboard or from rotating the screen. This is a problem that several of the "voice recorder" apps on android suffer from.
  17. Woohoo! Ok so firstly, thank you for the Android beta! Now, a bug report: This doesn't actually relate to the new android client, but became apparent through use of it. It seems that the web interface is getting stuck if I try to open a pdf attached to a note. It shows up in the note as a button, I click on it and then I just get a blank page. There's no way to long press and save the attachment to the device or anything like that, and this is slightly frustrating as 90% of my notes are pdfs (which have come straight from my ScanSnap on EN's recommendation). A fix would be greatly appreciated!
  18. Are audio notes supposed to play in the desktop client? I was surprised when, after recording several "audio notes" on my shiny new android client, I returned to my desktop Evernote and saw they were attachments to notes that opened in QuickTime player. This leads me to two questions: 1. Is the the behavior for audio notes from other mobile clients or is this specific to the android client? 2. Are there plans to integrate playback of audio attachments into the desktop client? I am using the 3.5 alpha windows client and saw the same behavior there. I'm just curious if this is a planned feature or not. Thanks Canyon R
  19. I think the Evernote icon is too small, it does not match other Android icons. See design notes here http://developer.android.com/guide/prac ... esign.html Tiny thing I know Mike
  20. We are looking for a few people to test the first Beta version of Evernote's Android client. You can download the Android "APK" application file from this location: http://s.evernote.com/androidbeta There are a few options for how you can install this on your device. You can try: 1) You can install the application directly over the air if you first change the configuration of your device to accept the signature on your application. Enable this option on your device: Settings -> Applications -> Unknown sources Then you can download the app directly from the browser and install it from the Downloads screen. 2) You can download the APK file to your device's memory card, and then use the "Apps Installer" application from the market to install the application: http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/google-android/articles/37151.aspx This "Evernote for Android" forum was created for discussions about this client. Let us know what problems you see. Thanks
