  1. I was out for a walk today, "brainstorming" a project. Each time I had an idea I made a recording and uploaded it to Evernote. But there are two problems that make this difficult to do. 1: The screen on most of these Androids is pretty bad outdoors; really bad contrast. But to make the problem worse, whoever designed the Record screen obviously thought to himself, "let's see if we can make this screen completely invisible outdoors" ... the contrast is really dreadful. Light gray buttons on a light gray background?! Are you kidding! Oh, and is that as small as you can get the time display? Surely you could make the text totally illegible, couldn't you? 2: In order to upload a recording I need to press Stop - Menu - Save - scroll down to the to get to the Save button - Save. How about putting a Save button right there on the Record screen. Better still, give us a Stop button, and a Stop and Save button? 3: One more thing; how about a Pause button? Why can't I stop and restart a recording? Peter
  2. There's some sort of third party Evernote android apps on the app store. They come up if you search for Evernote I tried one briefly, it lets you go through specific notebooks via a note list. I didn't see a way to search, though. I guess the developer is Japanese, this is the web site linked to from the app store: http://divnil.com/final/ This sort of thing makes me a bit nervous about the android marketplace in general. How do you know the app isn't sending the developer your account name and password?
  3. Is there a place to enable this. Using nexus one. MUST have live hyperlinks. Thanks
  4. I am using the beta version of the app on my Motorola Droid and I often will use the Evernote to capture data while it's available...for instance, specs or instructions on the back of a box at the store so that i can further research or or refer to when I have free time or access to a full browser and internet connection. The problem I keep running into is that if what I am capturing is a picture and I don't have a strong 3G or wifi signal, the upload can be pretty slow and if I need the info in the meantime, it appears in the drop-down "find as you type" results and the "Pending Notes" list but you can't open it, and then it seems to disappear for a little while and not show up at all (waiting to be indexed?) and your out of luck. Since I assume the file isn't actually uploaded and erased byte by byte, it would be nice if the note was still viewable in the interim. Furthermore, it might be useful to have an option in the online account to send a notification to your phone when the note is ready.
  5. I just installed Evernote for Android 1.3.1 (80774) on my Droid, which is running Android 2.1-update1. When I log into the app, I click notes and find the 'Welcome to Evernote' note. When I click on this note, I get the following error: "java.lang.IllegalStateException: can't declare any more prefixes in this context" Also, I was referred to using your program by a friend, and this friend shared 2 docs with me. I can view these via the browser, but I cannot view them on my phone. I have tried checking "Use Network" in the settings, and alternatively I have tried using a wifi connection, but still the shared notes do not appear. Someone suggested in another post to uninstall, reboot the phone, and reinstall the app while connected to wifi. I tried this but it is unchanged. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  6. As I understand the capabilities of Evernote, the latitude and longitude are captured when you make a note with a picture, text, or audio on a device that has gps capabilities. I have been told by friends with i phones that this feature works with the i phone, specifically i phone pictures. I have not been able to capture the gps info with Evernote on my Android. I have the Motorola Droid and it has gps skills. I know it works because I can see it with Google Maps. What do I need to do to capture the gps info with Evernote on my Android? Or is that feature not operational on the Evernote on the Android? Thank you, John Brown
  7. I would like to record voice and have it turn into text form. Does anybody know if you can do this? Or an application for the Droid that does this?
  8. I have just downloaded Evernote to my Android phone. If I tap ask it to display my notes they take a while to display which suggests that they are being downloaded in real time. I can understand that , on the first occasion, it needs to download my notes from the web but surely they should then be stored locally on the sd card. The consequence is that as my notes database increases so it will take longer and longer to download and , more importantly, the cost of that download is unnecessarily high if, like me, you are on PAYG. Do I misunderstand? Roy
  9. Hi. It would be create if I could create an Android shortcut to a specific note. Android shortcuts are typically used on the home pages. Individual Android apps can define their own shortcut behavior. Thanks.
  10. I found EN as an app on my HTC Sense (Droid Eris) and then dowloaded it on my laptop a week or so ago. Now thatI've started making notes on my laptop and doing alot more work on it, I've noticed that I can't edit my notes on the phone anymore. I cannot find any setting that makes the phone a view node only. Anyone know what I did?
  11. My Android has a problem about showing image clipped from web. I use Firefox 3.6.3, Evernote Web Clipper 3.0.0.82006 and Evernote for Android 1.4B2 (76539) on HTC Magic (HT-03A). I tried following sequence to add image to Evernote. 1. Show http://www.google.co.jp/intl/en_com/ima ... logo1w.png 2. Right click the image. -> Add to Evernote. I could watch the added image by using Evernote for Windows. But I could not watch it by using Evernote for Android. The note is exist. But the image isn't displayed. Then, I tried following sequence too. 1. Show http://www.google.co.jp/intl/en_com/ima ... logo1w.png 2. Right click the image. -> Save image to local disk. 3. Run Evernote for Windows. 4. Drag & Drop the image to Evernote for Windows. After above sequence, I could watch the image by using Evernote for Android. Which has a problem, Evernote for Android or Web Clipper? Thanks in advance.
  12. Using the Motorola Devour, I cannot find the Evernote app listed (others too are missing) using Verizon Wireless. Any help?
  13. I installed Evernote on a windows computer and my Motorola Droid. When I start the app (evernote) on the droid, the fonts on the password and username are too small to read. I cannot see if the username I enter is correct. Is there a way on the Droid to increase the font size of the Evernote login screen? Thanks, john Brown
  14. Does anyone else notice this? I've been fortunate enough to own a MyTouch 3G, Nexus One, Motorola Droid and Incredible. And I've noticed this: On the high res devices running 2.0 plus, the icon is slightly enlarged and blurry. On the lower resolution 1.6 MyTouch 3G the icon is sharp. Hope you can help make our app drawers sexier! Thanks Evernote!
  15. I received notification that there is a new version of Evernote for the Android available in the marketplace, but after downloading, the installation fails with a "Package file was not signed correctly" message. Can anyone else confirm this?
  16. Frustrated... Have written to EVERNOTE 3 times about this, no response. I see others with the same problem, but no solution... or am I missing it? I cannot access my Notes on my Droid. Could before, can't now. EVERNOTE is the only app on my Droid that doesn't work. EVERNOTE on my Macs runs just fine. I get the: "java.lang.IllegalStateException: can't declare any more prefixes in this context" message I need to be able to access my Notes! Can anyone help me? THANKS! Cat
  17. when I try to do an audio note, I get the following error message: Can't start audio recording: java.io.FileNotFoundException:/sdcard/Evernote/ENAUDIO1272488147251. I have a T-Mobile MyTouch, just got it a few days ago. Anyone else had this message/issue?
  18. I'm getting an error message that won't allow me to view notes: "java.langIllegalStateException: can't declare any more prefixes in this context" Any hints?
  19. hey evernote, can you put an "access notes" button on the home page for the mobile app? In this case I'm using android. It's so annoying to have to click the menu button first.
  20. All I want evernote to remember in my mobile is the longitude and latitude info. There is no sign that the GPRS info is obtained successfully. Everytime a write a note, and the close the application, go back home, and find that there is no long and lat info. So Please provide the options to show up the longlat info immedately in the app, if GRPS located my location successful.
  21. Hello, I am hoping someone has a method I can use to accomplish something.... Sometimes I am browsing a website on my phone (HTC Hero / Android 1.5) and I want to save the page in EN. For example, I am reading a blog post and want to go back to it later. I could copy the URL, go to my email client on my phone and send the URL to EN (and even specify a notebook / tag!), but that does not copy the article / webpage itself. It would be great to send EN a URL and have it go and take a snapshot of the webpage at that point in time and create a note out of it. If that could be automated, that would be even better. I thought I ran across a website that did this for you. IE, you gave it a URL and it would send you a PDF (I think) file of the web page. Does anyone know of a way to do this either with EN by itself or with EN + a 3rd party website? Doing the above on my PC is very simple (ie, go to the web page / select all / copy / paste into EN), but sometimes I want to accomplish the same thing when I am just on my phone. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
  22. I recently bought an HTC Legend (Android 2.1), and wanted to start using Evernote on it. The app does however not show up in the market (where it should be according to the product page)... anyone experiencing the same? is there a trick i need to learn?
  23. FYI: I've started using other apps on my Android phone because Evernote is too slow to search for notes or download notes. I use "ColorNote" for simple post-it like function for shoppinglists and small "must" remembers and I use Remember The Milk for tasks and also to remember other stuff because it stores locally and then syncs. Ie. if I want to remember a webpage, I write it down in RTM instead of opening Evernote. I WISH I could use Evernote for this instead....but not until there is an offline solution...
  24. Why does Evernote want access to so much of the phone's information? When I go to install it, it wants confirmation of access to my location, personal contact data, phone state and identity. Why? Mike
