  1. My friend claimed his I-Phone Evernote allowed him to take pictures of printed text, and convert it into text files. I watched the Android evernote video, and I've tinkered with it on my android phone for a while, and was wondering if this feature is supported (and if my friend was telling the truth about his I-Phone's evernote). I have the free version, but I'll go ahead and upgrade if it will give me image-to-text conversion. Thanks in advance
  2. I’m having a bit of trouble with tags. It appears as though tags I create with the desktop software (version 3.5.0.862) do not appear on the android app (version 1.3, updated this morning, running on a Motorola Droid). For example, I created a text note called “Test” and I tagged it as “personal” on the desktop. When I open that same note on the android app and select ‘note info’ there is no tag associated with the note. If I select ‘append text’ I have the option of selecting a tag from a list, but the only tags listed are ones I created in the android app. Interestingly, if I type in a tag as a search term the app finds the correct notes so I think the information is there. I’m a noob with evernote so there’s a good possibility that the problem is operator error. I’d appreciate if anyone can help with this. Great software by the way. I’m already using it far more than I expected!
  3. I took some snapshots today on my wife's Devour using EN and the image didn't get uploaded. I have a Droid and on there it works fine. Is this known? EDIT: If I upload the same image as an attachment, it works.
  4. I'm using the HTC Droid Eris with Evernote mobile. Recently my option to edit notes went missing and was replaced with Append Note. All I can do is add text and wait to edit when I get back on my PC- it will not let me delete content that is already in a note. I've reinstalled the application with no results. I can't find a setting to change this option.
  5. I guess this is a feature request... I don't understand why there is no way to view a list of tags and a list of notebooks when you are on the mobile version. Having to create a saved search for each notebook I want readily available on the mobile client is a pain. I should be able to choose to view all the notes in a notebook without having to remember all my notebook names. Heck, even when you select to view saved searches on the Android client, it tells you to choose a notebook! Someone obviously has to have thought about this before. I don't see how I could be the only person thinking that the mobile client needs this.
  6. Hi, I take pictures of wines I like, but to get the entire lable, I take it in portrait mode. This is uploaded in landscape mode and I have to manually turn this within Evernote for Windows. I also do this for coffe etc.
  7. FEATURE REQUESTS for Evernote on Android (droid): 1) Ability to select Notebooks or Tags in Android or (as a work-around) select Saved Search (Android) 2) Ability to select default Notebook to start in (Android) 3) Ability to select default Saved Search (i.e. Notebook "1.Action-Now" AND Tags "@Critical!") (Android) 4) Add "See Notes" or "Notes" as a button on first screen (Android)
  8. Any progress on fixing the "delete leading spaces" bug in Evernote for Android? I see a new beta is out, but it's not on the Marketplace yet. Will this version allow me to use leading spaces before text on lines in text notes to make paragraph indents?
  9. I am unable to create a "checkable" to-do list on on my mobile phone with Evernote for Android. However, Evernote Web is able to do this. So, I created a To-Do List on Evernote Web. I then opened the the list on my mobile phone with Evernote for Android. It will not allow me to edit the list on my mobile to check off items as they're accomplished (which would be nice since it's definitely more portable than my home computer). Am I missing something? Or is the Android version just not equipped to handle to-do lists?
  10. This question has been asked on previous post, but I have not seen any answers. I own a construction company and I currently use outlook task to keep track of jobs, time, materials, etc. I have each job categorized as working, to be invoiced, invoiced, etc. I would like to find an application that allows me to input my data on my pc locally and have that information download to my phone so I will have it anywhere I go. I thought evernote was my answer until I tried to look at the jobs on my phone. Without an easy way to sort through the notes easily it is useless to me. I would just like to know if evernote considers this an issue and if so when will the app be rewritten to include some kind of way to sort the notebooks on the phone.
  11. I really like the Evernote platform, and I use it a lot, so I wanted to add some constructive feedback on the Evernote Android app in the hopes that this might help. To me, the core functionality of the Evernote platform is really note (and thought) organization. It allows me to keep a lot of different notes on different subjects, and organize them for myself. The windows app, and the web apps do a very good job with this (minus the poor text editor). When Evernote came out with an Android app, I was excited at the possibility of finally having access to my notes anywhere I go. That said, I was really let down when I downloaded the Android app. The main purpose of the app is something completely different than the rest of the Evernote platform. The mobile app is geared towards quick temporary notes, a niche that is already oversaturated with many really good applications. It seems as if the list of notebooks and notes are an afterthought in the mobile app. It’s a complete pain to get to the list of notebooks since you have to dig through menus. Once you get to them, they are not organized in a hierarchical fashion like they are on the web and in the windows app. Because of that, it’s sometimes impossible to figure out which note you are looking for, because you don’t know the notebook it is in. Additionally, you can’t modify the note, you can only append to the note. I really had hoped that the mobile application would center on these notes and notebooks, and provide the same experience us users have come to expect from Evernote. Instead, the app focuses on something completely different. Thanks for reading my rant!
  12. I found that evertime accessing the notes, it at least take several seconds, I think it is accessing network to fetch the notes all the time, but if there is no update in notes from network, it seems redundant. Can it be speed up? Regards, Ivan
  13. I found a rather nasty bug on my Droid - I had Evernote for Android open while I was writing a new text note. I was taking notes during a sermon in church, and throughout the sermon, the screen would turn off (on timeout) and I would turn it back on using the power button. Towards the end of the sermon, while the screen was off, I slid open the keyboard which turns the screen on. After swiping to unlock, I was presented with a blank Evernote text note. All my previous content (title, note content) was erased. It was not uploaded and was not in the Pending Notes section. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. I did try this again on a test note and confirmed that it happens every time I do this (create new text note, write some text, let screen turn off, slide open keyboard).
  14. Hi, I'm a new user of Evernote in Sweden and is trying to use it with my Android, but I'm having problems. Every time I try to upload any media I get the following error message in log: "NoteUploader.uploadNote EDAMSystemException: Resource errorCode=4" This happens with Snapshot/File/Audio, but not with notes. What does Resource errorCode=4 mean? Couldn't find any info in forum. Thanks/Emil

  16. Has anyone had a problem with Evernote for Android stripping leading spaces from lines in text notes? I use Evernote for simple text editing, so I can work on notes interchangeably on my Droid and my laptop and my work computer. There is no tab character in the text editor, and the Android app doesn't have the "Indent right" button that the web based editor has, so I like to use spaces to indicate paragraph and subparagraph indentations. This is no problem with the web based editor. But the Android app keeps stripping all the leading spaces from the indented lines, which of course effectively un-indents them. Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone found a way to correct it, ie, to protect the leading spaces from being stripped?
  17. Hi, I am testing the Evernote 1.3 (70553) app from the Android Market on my HTC Magic (g2) with Android 1.6 (from France, and I use the french-localized version), but with no success today. Whilte I can see my notes in the Windows desktop app or in the Web App, the android app is desperately silent to all my request: 1/Creating a text note do not show the notebook list (it seems empty as it does not pop up). Same for the tag list. 2/making a search gives nothing after a loooooong wait 3/sneding a file does nothing etc., etc. All these operations have been done using the 3G network. I have not tested under wifi. I can sign in, but that's all. Nothing more. Am I missing something obvious ? Is there a way to fix this and make it work ? (FYI, I tried uninstall/install several times) thx Patrick
  18. Sometimes it is really hard to see something in an image note in Evernote on the android. The ability to zoom in would be a big help.
  19. I often take pictures with my G1 rotated vertically. This works out as a lot better shot in many circumstances, but when I go to view it in Evernote the picture is displayed sideways. It is annoying enough I can not fix it prior to upload, but I also can't from the web interface as well. No other kind of fancy image editing is really important to me, but a simple preview display and a 'rotate left/right 90 degrees' buttons would be a MAJOR win for me. EDIT: To be clear this applies mainly to the 'Snapshot' note for me, since it never entered the filesystem for using another app to rotate it (although that would be a nice feature too)
  20. Tag autocompletion is something I rely on instinctively when using the web clipper. It was really jarring to not have it available on the Android client. A native client should be more powerful then a web client, no? The current tag entry method is pretty much unusable for me. I am someone who generously assigns out tags more as 'hints' then as a strict way of categorizing things. So I have difficulty in typing a tag out of memory, and the scroll list is really impractical with so many available tags.
  21. It would be really useful if the notebooks could be sorted alphabetically instead of created/modified.
  22. The most annoying thing about using Evernote for Android is having to scroll down to find the [save] button when I'm wanting to create a quick note, or a bunch of quick notes or photos. It's annoying because most of the screen is taken up by text boxes, and when trying to scroll the screen down if you accidentally touch inside a box, rather than in between the boxes, it brings up the keyboard and now we're having to hit the back button and hope we don't lose our note. When I create a note, generally I'll do all the details later when I'm at my computer. I just want to create the note and immediately save it. So if you could put an extra [save] button right on top or make it a separate interface element, I'd be even more eternally grateful for this product.
  23. I would love an "auto save" option for the creation of text and audio notes. I want to be able to set an option so that If I create a note (text or audio) and hit the "back" button it defaults to saving the note not "disappearing" it. I understand why this is the default behavior but I want to set an option to change it. I would rather it "uploaded" a note I didn't want to than loosing a note I needed because of an errant button push. Thanks
  24. When accessing a note from the Menu > Notes section everything is working great. When accessing the same notes from Saved Searches the words are all highlighted as if a search for every word in the note was executed. Is anyone else seeing this? PS. - I'm loving Evernote on Android. Thanks for the hard work.
  25. In addition to the 4 choices I'm presented with when I fire up Evernote on my Droid, I'd like the "Notes" retrieval icon on the same page. Why have to go through the menu key when reading notes is probably what most people do the most? Thanks, Jeff
