  1. I had Evernote working fine on my HTC Desire and then I was told there was an update. I told it to upgrade but afterwards when I clicked on the icon to run Evernote it told me it was not installed on my phone even though the icon was still in the programs list. I reinstalled Evernote and it seems to work but now I have the following problems: 1. It is impossible to add Evernote as a shortcut on my desktop now. I tell it to add a shortcut, pick the Evernote icon but it does not appear on the desktop. 2. Even worse - when I install any new app it no longer appears in the list of apps that I can add as shortcuts to my desktop. It seems that some part of the installation mechanism must be broken on my phone now. Does anyone know what is wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks
  2. OK, I give up. I am using Evernote v. 3.5 for Droid-Windows. Want to print out a single note. It is not covered anywhere in the Manual. It should be a simple matter. I am certainly tired of copying and pasting into Word. I either get nothing but multiple blank pages or multiple copies of notes. Thanks. Alvin S.
  3. Hi, I've just downloaded Evernote from s.evernote.com/androidbeta (cause i can't find it on android market) and it is not good looking. The "Snapshot" and "Upload file" buttons are on top of the search dialog (when phone is on vertical (portrait) position). When phone is in horizontal (landscape) position all is good. I think it's maybe cause wildfire's screen resolution isn't very big (240x320). How to solve this problem? Thanks!
  4. When I pull up a note of several paragraphs leangth I find it is truncated in the Evernote view. If I go to "edit" I can see the whole note. Is it possible to have longer notes showing up not truncated? Thanks.
  5. Would be very cool if you could open evernote with shortcuts, e.g. Shortcut to List: Create shortcut with custom search string - for example shortcut with Search for tag:bookmark opens up my bookmarks list... Shortcut to Action: Create Shortcut to create a new (Audio, Snapshot, Text, File)note. Similar to the widget buttons but shortcuts can be moved and added freely. Regards
  6. Hi all, I'm using Evernote on Android 1.6 (Dell Streak). I can record AMRs from my Android, and play them in Windows. However when I try to play the AMR on Android I'm shown a toast "Could not play track". What's happening and is there a way to correct this? Thanks, great app otherwise so far. Kind regards, - Art

  8. I've emailed support twice about this and received no response, so I'm posting here. I am a premium subscriber... I have the latest version of Evernote (1.5) running on an HTC Desire with Android 2.2. I have the option to Use Network unticked and the wifi is not connected to any network. When I create a new note in Evernote, it uploads instantly. Is anyone else having this problem? Someone from Evernote please answer me! Data charges here are horrendous so I absolutely can't afford for a note to upload over 3G. I'm basically stopped from using EN altogether, which really sucks because I usually use it a couple of dozen times a day. I need my EN brain back.
  9. I have a special wish: Could you please disable the automatic download of attached files? Example: Step 1:I have an article clipped from the web Step 2:At the bottom i add for example a big pdf or a video Step 3:I want to read the article on my Android Smartphone, but before i can do this the app needs to download the attached video(pdf)... Very annoying if you are not in 3g coverage... Idea: Only load the texts, images etc plus create an icon for the attached file, so we can download it by clicking on it. Would be a great enchancement... Again thanks for the great new Evernote 1.5! - love it
  10. I'm constantly amazed whenever I download an Evernote update and there's still no icons on the pop-up menu. It just makes the app look so amateurish. Why aren't there any there yet?
  11. Evernote on HTC Evo Android 2.2 not sorting file name list Alphabetically
  12. Evernote on HTC Evo Android 2.2 not editing file which contains a URL or email address - just allows appending
  13. I use Evernote for many, many things and have a great need to sort my notes by category or as Evernote calls them, Notebooks. My whole note keeping system is based on note categories. I love Evernote and really appreciate having Evernote on my Droid. Unfortunately, not being able to view my list of Notebooks or access my notes via a Notebooks list SEVERELY limits the utility of Evernote on my phone. Please make this your top priority and have a new release out on the Droid marketplace by morning, thank you! jack (That last line was tongue in cheek, mostly
  14. Data charges here are horrible so I only want to sync when I have a wifi connection. I used to be able to do this on my iPhone, but I can't find the option on Android. Am I missing something stupid? I'm running the latest beta. Thanks.
  15. Having problems uploading notes of any sort (text, photo, voice etc.). I know I'm connected to evernote b/c if I add a note from my desktop, it will show up on my mobile evernote. But My uploads get stuck in Pending, and I can't do anything about it. I waited over 24 hours to see if it was just a large picture file for the photos, but nothing. Also, When I'm in the Pending screen, and I push the Menu button, the only two options I get are "Remove All" and "Pause Upload". I've tried pausing and restarting, but that doesn't do anything. Any help?
  16. How about some widgets or maybe shortcuts to make things easy from the main screen?
  17. I'd like to download your app for Android but as it states in the app market: This application has access to the following: ! Your personal information read contact data I really @#$%^ HATE that sh*t. Why! Change this and give us CHOICE in this matter! ---------------------------------------------------------- Here's a nice blog post on Android Security http://techpp.com/2010/07/30/android-ap ... vate-data/ From the above website: * Your personal information - read contact data This permission is of high importance. Unless an app explicitly states a specific feature that it would use your contact list for, there isn’t much of a reason to give an application this permission. The one exception to that rule includes typing or note taking applications and/or quick-dial type applications. Those MIGHT require your contact information to help make suggestions to you as you type. Typical application that require this permission include: social networking apps, typing/note taking apps, SMS replacement apps, contact management apps.
  18. I know the devs don't need any encouragement (IIRC, Dave uses a Droid), but here are two very good reasons why EN for Android should be an even higher priority than the iPhone: 1. At the current rate of growth, Android handsets will overtake iPhone devices in the not too distant future, and then keep expanding. There will simply be more people with Android in the pocket than iPhone, so more potential customers. 2. While I know that Apple has given a lot of prominence to EN, there are simply fewer cool apps on Android at this point and a true killer EN app for that platform would stand out among a smaller crowd. Seems like a no-brainer to me! :0)
  19. I try to install Evernote on my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini, but I can't find it in the Android Market. The download link on the Evernote web page leads to an error message which says that nothing matches pname:com.evernote. Others have a similar experience, and I have seen some speculation on why. Why can't Evernote be downloaded on this device? Is it the hardware? Is the Android version insufficient? Or something else?
  20. Hello Evernote, I just switched from an iPhone to an Android phone and noticed the Android client is missing some functionalies. What I miss on Android: - Favourite Notes (gives quick access to important notes) - Editing existing notes (Android only can append to a note, while iPhone can copy a note (to plain text) and edit the whole thing) - Harder to make a quick note (why is the "save" button all the way down at the bottom? It should be right in sight at all times) - Autosaving of voicenotes (iPhone auto-start recording a voicenote, and autosaves it when pressing save. No need to edit anything, handy while driving!) - No quick snapshots (need to edit so many things, just want to save and move on!) - Quick scrolling through notes (no scroll bar on the right, now where is that note...) - No offline access to notes (no internet = no notes at all, what??) - No easy sorting of notes (not by notebook, not by tag, not by name) - Why do I need to press an extra button (menu) to view my notes? I know the iPhone client has had more time to develop, and is some versions further. Dave, please stand up for us Android users, I know you must agree with some of the things above! Regards, Matthijs
  21. I posted on the main page, but realize this may be more for this thread. The "Awesome Note" program looks perfect and has the to-do list I am looking for, but why only for iphone? Is there something similar for android/windows users? any suggestions? Thanks, Jen
  22. It looks like some of my tags are not available when I create notes in the Android client. Anyone else seeing this?
  23. Is there every going to be an update to the Evernote Android client? I have just had to uninstall the 1.31 version from the Market as it force closed when attempting to view any note. The last beta version was 2 months ago, and right now we have a release version that doesn't seem to work for many people. I love the Evernote desktop client and use it every day, but without a decent Android client, I will be looking to jump ship very soon.
  24. I just updated my samsung moment to android 2.1. I'm reinstalling all my apps and am doing evernote now. When I enter in the information for login (user/pass) it goes to a black screen, does nothing for a bit and then goes back to the home screen. Any ideas why its doing this now? And I have tried rebooting the phone Thanks Jason
  25. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the next version of EN for Android used the built in search function to search for EN notes. It can search Kindle, weatherbug, messages, Twitter, Mind.com, Paperdroid, and who knows what else (those are apps on my phone that seamlessly integrates search into to system search capability. I don't know if it is a 2.2 thing but it sure makes searching the phone easy.
