  1. Loving the mobile beta app, looking forward to the final release...but curious if this might also include a new desktop program to go along with it?
  2. Hey folks - You can download an updated version of Evernote for Android v. 2 at: http://s.evernote.com/android2preview As before, bugs can be filed at: http://s.evernote.com/android2bug This new update includes a few new features and improvements: [*:2pd4z9mx]Support for Android v. 1.5 [*:2pd4z9mx]Improved graphics and screen designs [*:2pd4z9mx]Improved menus [*:2pd4z9mx]Improved progress updates during downsyncing [*:2pd4z9mx]Improve performance of logging out [*:2pd4z9mx]Addressed bugs with editing notes and synchronization [*:2pd4z9mx]Improved Clear Cache options to reclaim used sdcard storage
  3. Two bits of feedback on Beta 2: 1) Is location supposed to be implemented yet? I have "use gps" and "use network" checked in the settings. Notes don't appear to have location data. 2) Lack of feedback on synchronization is problematic. I just added a test note that was a two words in length. Its not appearing in Evernote web after a few moments. Whenever I hit the sync button, I see "synchronization stated" but no further information. I do have internet access, tested through the web browser, though the 3g up/down bars are not active when just the evernote program is up, which makes me think Evernote is not syncing and is just sitting there. I don't have wifi only selected. If I hit the back button out of the program and click the evernote icon again i get a message "synchronisation statrted 2 minutes ago) I'm assuming the clock reserts when I hit sync again. Android shows 2458 notes while web shows 2457 notes. Shouldn't take so long to upload one note should it? (Now it shows 5 minutes since sync started, evernote web still doesn't have the note, and I'm losing interest in the experiment. the sync seems to be frozen)
  4. I still have trouble syncing my notes - new notes on the client just dont make it online. However - mostly by routine - I still added some new notes on the Android client - which are now lingering in my notebook, waiting to be synced. It seems that others do not have this problem, so I thought about how to resolve this. Would logging off and on be a good idea? What exactly happens? Is all synced data lost? What happens to those non-synced notes? Same questions for uninstalling and reinstalling? Might that help? Again: What happens to these unsynced notes? Thanks for your help! (And thanks for the great advances in both Android and Win Client. Awesome!) BTW: The widget has also vanished from the widget list - shortly AFTER the last update last Friday. I am running a stock HTC Desire on Froyo 2.2 in a German T-Mobile Network
  5. All notes I've added since using 2.0 have thumbnails with just the circular sync sign. Wondering what's up with that? I DID mark 242 notebooks for offline sync also... but thatwas yesterday..
  6. I've just installed the latest beta and I'm really happy with the improvements but I have one problem. I keep getting force closes from my pdf reader when I try to view pdf within my notes. I've installed a few other readers and they all force close doing the same thing. I this my phone or a possible bug? Thanks!
  7. I find that the More notes tab, at the bottom of the note, often gets in the way of reading the very bottom of the note. I usually have to fiddle with it to see the last line of the note. I also think it is redundant. It is fairly easy to get back to your notes on any android device. It would also be nice to be able to have the option of hiding the header bars when viewing a note. Even with the big 4.3" screen on the EVO, they take up alot of reading space on the screen. I really like the latest build of EN 2.0 for android. Offline viewing dramatically increases the usability.
  8. I have Evernote Ver. 1.5 installed on my Verizon HTC Incredible. Using the photo option, I only have the small (640x480) photos resolution available. If I use the Incredible's native camera app, all resolutions small-8M (640x480-33264x2448) are available. IMO, this is a severe limitation. Small photos are almost illegible in the desktop app. Is there a fix for this limitation?
  9. Sorry, but this isn't quite clear to me, and I'm hoping it can be cleared up. I see in the description of the new Beta version the following: "In addition, whenever a note is viewed or created on the device, it will be stored offline for easy access even when there is no network connectivity. This feature is available for both free and premium users." and then: "If you have an Evernote Premium account, then you will be able to specify the notebooks that you want to be saved for offline viewing. Evernote will then download all the notes contained in those notebooks, including any attached images and files, and saves them all onto your device's SD card." What exactly is the difference? If I am _online_ and use the EN app, and I view all of my notes (lets say I only have 3 or 4 to start), those notes will still be available to me when I go OFFLINE with a FREE account? I create a note on my phone while I am _offline_ (Free account). When I go _online_ will it sync? What, really, is the difference between Free and Premium for having notes on the Android device when _offline_?
  10. edit: Think this was the older beta, will redraft after checking the new one)
  11. Hi I would really like to see handwriting support on the Android client... Is this currently planned? Thanks Fred
  12. I want to start off by saying that this is the best version so far of Evernote for mobile in the near 2 years that I have been using Evernote. However there are a few issues that I have found: 1. I have over 6000 notes and my notes have been syncing for over 14 hours and still not all of my notes are downloaded. It would be nice if I had access to my notes even though the full note did not download until I opened the note for the first time. 2. The small black box to show "More Notes" covers up part of my notes, it would be nice to hide/show this button from the menu. 3. It would also be nice to zoom out even further than the 100% size of an image. I have a lot of high quality images that I have to pan around on since I can not zoom out far enough to see/read the entire note. 4. The thumbnails for my notes are not showing up, I just get a small loading wheel for each image. This could be related to fact that not all of my notes are downloaded yet. 5. When I type in a tag to add to a note, it does not select that tag from the list of tags. It would be nice to see a list of suggested tags based on what I type in the tag box, right now the tag feature seems like two different systems that have been put together. 6. Clicking on the 'i' icon can take a while to load. 7. The 'i' icon looks like it is repeating in the x coordinates. 8. The down arrow icon for choosing the notebook "display options" does not fit in the box properly. I have added a screenshot to show you. 9. The "More Notes" button doesn't have any padding around the text, looks awkward/tight. 10. Thumbnail images for Notebooks do not show up -
  13. I have not found in the Market I'm not able to locate the Evernote on Android Market. I tried using the QR Code, but could not. He is still available for this platform?
  14. Another suggestion: The application should have an option of adding a reminder attached to a specific note. This could be implemented via integration with the Android calendar. It will pop up an alert with the note's subject at the selected time. Thanks
  15. I just installed the 2.0 beta. Is there any way to record an audio note? I have a Sprint HTC Hero running stock Android 2.1.
  16. I have Evernote on my Droid and I'm finding the formatting to be a nightmare. Even when I create simple text (no formatting) in Word and copy and paste it into Evernote, the lines are double spaced and I can't delete or move selected text. It's as though it's frozen on screen. And when I copy and paste something with weird formatting from Evernote into Word and remove all formatting (no pictures, links, nothing), as soon as I paste it back into Evernote, the spacing and my ability to delete lines gets screwy again. It's making me crazy and making Evernote a total pain to use. Please help!
  17. Using the latest beta (104964) I have picked evernote to be an application in the google search application. When I do a search using the google search and pick evernote as the item to search, evernote force closes and doesn't accomplish the search. When I search using the evernote app search capability the search succeeds, and is complete as far as I can tell. Hope this helps.
  18. I have 334 Backup notes - and only 133 active notes. Opening my file in Android I get all the backup notes. How can I call up only the active notes; or is there a way to delete the backup notes? All those useless notes really slows things down.
  19. Anyone knows why I dont't find the app in brazilian Market on my Samsung Galaxy 5?
  20. First of all - Great Stuff!!! A very good solution!! One important suggestion: You should add an Android widget that DISPLAYS notes, in addition to the one that allows adding new ones. The widget should come in different sizes, one of which should spread on the WHOLE screen (Take example from some very good HTC widgets! Calenders, Bookmarks etc.) If the display could be sorted by TAGS, it would be even better!
  21. When I swipe up on the tags screen a "#" appears briefly on the screen, and when i swipe on the notebooks screen a "g" appears briefly. I'm on a nexus one. Also, and more importantly, being able to use the phone search capability to be able to search evernote is totally awesome.
  22. Set-up: EN 2 Beta, Nexus One, Android 2.2.1 I installed the beta yesterday(10/12). All my notes synced appropriately. I've changed the content of a number of notes(in Windows) since then, and none of them have made it to the phone. No notes marked 10/13. I manually synced EN but there are still no updates showing on the phone. A somewhat related question. Settings contains 2 items. "Wi-Fi sync only" and "Use Network" that seem to be addressing the same issue. What is the difference?
  23. Hey folks - You can download an updated version of Evernote for Android v. 2 at: http://s.evernote.com/android2preview As before, bugs can be filed at: http://s.evernote.com/android2bug This new update sports a bunch of new features and improvements: [*:1vevdru8]Email notes [*:1vevdru8]Note decryption [*:1vevdru8]Create and playback of audio notes within the app [*:1vevdru8]Improved synchronization status messaging [*:1vevdru8]Fixed some (but not all) problems with sync and note editing [*:1vevdru8]Installable on the SDCard (Post updated, thanks for the corrections -- thanks allen, canyon)
  24. Great work with the new EN for Android! The ability to have all of my notes "in my pocket" is superb! I've only briefly evaluated it, but I have a few comments: [*:30qhft2v]Detail and thumbnail view are great, but how about a simple list mode as well! Most of my notes are text, and the thumbnail is just an extra download and wastes screen real estate. [*:30qhft2v] When viewing "All notes" (~1000) the scroll bar doesn't really work - when I drag and release to say half way down my screen, it doesn't drop my half way through my notes. Also, it would be great to have a pop-up during dragging the scroll bar to give month/year say (if sorted by date), and by letter in title order etc. [*:30qhft2v] Deleted notes - when I've deleted a note on the EN service, but not recently sync'd EN for Android, the note browser opens to a "Web page not available" page - I guess there's a more user friendly way of dealing with this... [*:30qhft2v] Ink notes - thumbnails are generated for ink notes, so I guess the web service knows how to display them - can we not also return an image of the ink note to Android, so that at least they can be viewed? That's it for now! More feedback when I've had more time to play Cheers, Mark
  25. After installing Evernote 2 for Android, I noticed that it went ahead and synched my entire 5000+ note database. This took a considerable amount of time and I wasn't able to use Evernote until the process was done (it syncs old notes first and I needed the new notes). Could you disable sync by default unless the user explicitly selects the notebooks to sync? Thanks.
