  1. Hi, Any chance of adding a button to Widget that will take you to the 'home page' in the app? Currently I click on the search box, then have to click the icon to get to the home page. There is no real need for the search box to be that big (can't type anything into it), so should be space to replace it with both a 'search' icon and a 'home' icon? Obviously, I could just put a shortcut to the app itself on the screen as well as the widget, but seems a waste of precious real estate to me. Phil
  2. I use a shortcut on one of my homescreens and it works great. But, I noticed that there is a create shortcut function inside the app. (All Notes > Menu > Create Shortcut) I can't figure out what that does. Can someone shed some light on this for me?
  3. I'm using 'documents to go' to create my documents and can't seem to upload them using the evernote app or by email. I would prefer to use the evernote app. When trying in the evernote app the documents don't show up, and when using email I get a return email saying they received it but the file had no useable content. The following is the what the email says: "Evernote was unable to submit your note for the following reason: Emailed note was received, but was rejected due to problems with the note itself. [After filtering, the submitted message had no usable content. -After filtering, the submitted message had no usable content.]" Am I doing something wrong?
  4. Hey folks - We've published another beta. This one focused on bug fixes. We've also added a way to send us logs straight from the app. If you run into problem, immediately go to Settings and select "Send log". It will launch your email client with your most recent log information and some specs about your device. You can send the logs to: android-preview@evernote.com. Please include a description of the problem you've encountered. Thanks!
  5. ok, I am in the browser at a web page and click share and select evernote. What should happen?
  6. In the windows client there's a very convenient panel below the tags to search for notes containing filetypes or according to creation date. I have a piece of documentation for search term syntax to do this from the search input form, but is this panel somewhere in the app? Also, what is the search syntax to look filetypes up and does the app know the same syntax as the window client?
  7. I have over 400 text notes across 6 folders on the PC version. When downloaded to my Epic 4G, they are just a very long list (and will not an alphabetical list either). The droid version does not have the ability to show folders? This is a very unwieldy method to find notes on the phone! Am I missing something?
  8. I have several notes with images on my Evernote for Windows. When I sync them with my Droid the images do not show. When I sync them with my iPod Touch the show. Some of the notes were converted from OneNote 2007 and some directly downloaded from the web. It doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there a setting that I am missing on the Droid or is it a problem with the Droid?
  9. A new line gets added between paragraphs every time I edit and save a note. Only on Android, not on desktop. Droid X. Froyo 2.2. EN 1.5.1 (97121).
  10. I've installed the new Beta and loved how many new features it came with, unfortunately, I noticed that after it fully synced my notes (with was a multi-hour affair), none of my other phone features would sync. This includes gmail, calendar, twitter, weather. I can't even manually force a sync with those services. After removing evernote, things went back to normal. I've tried reinstalling Evernote and even changed some of the sync settings within the program, but it doesn't seem to work. Just having Evernote installed does not cause my sync issues, but I noticed that once Evernote is about 80% done it's own syncing, things break on the device apps end. Any cause or reason for this?
  11. Hello, I have reported this as a bug already but never received any feedback about it so I am duplicating this problem here since it is an important problem that affect me. This problem occured with both beta 2 and 3, but I must admit that beta 3 is much more stable and I haven't removed it since the day I have installed it on my android machine. Here is the problem: Clicking on the Widget and performing a search from it will cause the application to crash after 30 seconds approx. Workaround: Click the widget, click the elephant head, click Search and do the same exact Search and it will work. Not sure why the search is not working when performed directly from the page supplied by the widget. - Pierre
  12. Now that we have DL to phone on here, I am thinking of porting a mojority of my read it later account directly to evernote. I have two requests and I wonder how easy they would be: [list=]As a menu item when a note is opened, have an option of day / night view. As many of the notes are simple text, I imagine it wouldn't be to difficult to change the background and foreground text between white/black and black/white, you might even be able to inject a CSS if you are just using the browser to render pages. Allow page scroll, either by tapping on the top and bottom of the screen, or by re-purposing the volume rocker to allow page scrolls. With long text, it gets to be a hastle in both evernote and the browser if your phone doesn't have a d-pad or trackball (one reason I liked the G1 over the Droid) Hopefully you guys don't think these are horrible ideas, as it would at least make my life a lot easier. Thanks, Rich
  13. I can't get my pictures to "snap" to fit the screen. I have to zoom in or out, and it is never just right. Is that just me? Also, being able to view pictures, and other notes, in full screen would be nice, as others have mentioned.
  14. I find myself wanting to use Evernote for things like shopping lists, but I am continually frustrated that by the workflow to get to given notes: Click Evernote icon (skip this step if you use the existing Android widget) Click search bar Enter search term Select note Menu button Edit button It would be nice if there was an Android widget that would directly link to an edit view of a specified note. One step.... Additionally, it would be helpful if I could do the same thing from my desktop client (place icons on the desktop to directly edit a specified note). This would probably also tie in with requests to make notes linkable via file handler or URL, but the simple additional of functionality specified above would make Evernote substantially more useful for me (and I imagine most other users).
  15. Images display way to large in the notes.... at their smallest they're still too large to view as a whole! The thumbnails with these pics display with just the circular downloading figure. Help? Am using the latest beta version.
  16. When signing out of Evernote, it appears all the synced data is lost. When signing back in, you have to do a full sync again? This can't be right, can it?
  17. This morning I tried to access Evernote on my T-Mobile MyTouch and got a message telling me I had an incorrect password. Problem is, the message keeps popping up over and over and over and over . . . I press "OK" and before I can even clear the password field, the message pops up again. I press "OK", and POP!! . . . again with the password message. I have tried backing out and starting over, tried shutting down and restarting the phone . . . nothing. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas as to how to remedy? Thanks!
  18. Hello, I'm currently running Evernote beta version 2.0b4 build:107309 on an HTC Evo. When I create notes on the phone they are not being uploaded to the evernotes servers, but it can download notes from the evernote server. And I have tried syncing manual. Thank you for your prompt attention.
  19. I'd like to see only notes belonging to a certain notebook, not all my notes.
  20. Here are my first thoughts about 2.0. LOVE the opening page. It loads very fast, syncs fast and smooth and I love the synced, offline available notebooks. I am assuming that EN now keeps these folders synced with new notes in that folder and downloads them automatically to the SD card. That is very nice, and better than EN for my iPod Touch. A couple of my notes, which were long lists of text copied and pasted off of web pages, went wacko. Rather than a long list of items, they just run on horizontally forever, without any "return". Basically unusable. I can point you to them in my account of you want to look at them. Picture issue: jpegs do not scale to the screen in landscape, can only zoom out so far, and still not far enough to see the whole picture. If there is a way to "snap" it to screen size, I don't see it. Need an indicator of which folders are chosen downloaded for offline viewing on the Notebook page (since I will forget which they are). Just some little thing in the corner of the icon/picture for that Notebook would be fine. Sometimes the scrolling is not smooth, especially on the page of Notebooks or Notes. The little alphabet letter pop-up is not very useful, doesn’t keep up with the scrolling anyway. Maybe just not enough notes for each letter. So far, I LOVE it, but these are the few nitpicks!
  21. I've just upgraded to the latest beta, and am very happy overall! I would still like to see a list view, rather than just detail and thumbnail (or, as another user posted, let us customize the detail view and switch off thumbnails, for example). But another thing I would really like to see is a fullscreen mode when viewing a note. If I am reviewing/reading a note (most of mine are text + some images), I do so in landscape mode - but then the top bar and note title take ~25% of the screen area! I would love an option for fullscreen, or an option to auto-hide the top bar much like the "more notes" box... Cheers, Mark
  22. Evernote 2.0 beta is now publishing updates using our auto-update mechanism so you'll always have access to the latest beta. Beta 4 included the following updates: [*:1lbm46yx]More robust synchronization and note uploading [*:1lbm46yx]Improved "More notes" tab in the note list [*:1lbm46yx]Improved support for small screens [*:1lbm46yx]Improved handling of Airplane mode [*:1lbm46yx]Add the option few notes with scaled images [*:1lbm46yx]Much bug fixing Download the latest beta now at: http://s.evernote.com/android2preview
  23. For what its worth, it took me a few moments to figure out how the update mechanism works. After I received the update notice, I believe I had to view the notification in the OS notification list and click the notification, revealing the option to download the update. It would be more intuitive if there was an option within the Evernote app itself to download the update, or if there was a popup with instructions. (Of course if the final version uses the market app for updates, I guess this won't matter.)
  24. Hi, Wow, I've been using Evernote for Android beta 2.0b2 on Android 2.1 (Samsung Captivate) and am reconsidering using Evernote. This new Android client is soooo much better than its predecessor. Please consider implementing multiple tag filtering. The user could select multiple tags and only the notes containing all those notes would be presented in a list. When creating a note the user is able to select multiple tags to apply to a note via a checklist. When filtering notes it would be really useful if one could select multiple tags in a similar manner. An enhancement to this would be if the user could select multiple tags and then select AND or OR logic, by selecting find notes containing ALL or find notes containing ANY. If the user can select only one tag to filter the list how are tags functionally different from notebooks? Please implement multi-tag filtering on the windows client also. In the main notes list the user can select either Detail View or Thumbnail View. The thumbnail view is nearly useless for lengthy text notes. Thumb view is ok for picture notes though. It'd be nice if the user could customize the Detail View to display (or not) the Thumb, Title, Date, Tag(s) or selectible # of lines of note body text. Then the user could create a custom view, presenting a high density list of, for example, just titles. Allow the user to save customized list views so the user would not have to apply a tag filter, custom view, sort by date, etc. to achieve a list of desired notes. Instead the user could tap the menu button, select saved views, and the desired saved view. Then even better would be to allow the user to create a shortcut on the Android home screen to specific saved views or notebooks! Now we're talking user friendly! thanks, Fred
