windows 8 (Archived) Feature Request: Local Network database
walmartman posted a topic in Windows Archive
I know it's been brought up in the past but I want to request the ability to be able to store our database on our local network. I have several notebooks that are local due to the nature of some of the information in them. Though I don't want these notebooks synced to the server I would like myself and my wife to be able to access them from multiple computers in our home. I don't know how EN for business works, but I'm sure something like this would be great in a small biz environment as well.- 1 reply

Hi folks! My name is Nazmus, and if you do not know yet, there seems to be a special version of Evernote for Windows 8 coming soon! This version will only work on Windows 8 (not Windows 7 or earlier) and be available through the Windows 8 App Store. As with all new Windows 8 "metro style" apps, this app is designed for both touch and mouse/keyboard. It will also run fullscreen and will be more enjoyable to use! Here's quick preview of the WIndows Store. You can see a big Evernote for Windows 8 tile. Note, this is NOT the Evernote for Windows 7, but rather, it is a completely, new, and redesigned app! Windows 8 Beta arrives late February of 2012, when we would expect to see this app be available for download.

Hi... weird this browser isn't letting me put in a line break so excuse me for this massive paragraph... I'm still trying to get to grips with the windows 8 concept of effectively having two completely separate OSes in one... desktop and metro... so I installed evernote from the evernote website, and carefully copied across my evernote database from my old machine so that I didn't have to sync the whole thing down from the cloud.... worked nicely... then I thought I'd try installing evernote from the MS app store thing... and that seems to be the Metro evernote... what is more when I fire that up, it doesn't read my existing evernote database from the same location as the desktop version, and instead seems to be syncing the whole blessed database back down from the cloud to a separate location locally... I must admit that this is all highly confusing, not evernote's fault but the whole windows 8 thing is confusing... should I use the metro app or the desktop app?? If I like to dip into both, is it possible for them to share the same local database?? Thanks for reading this very long paragraph.

I have been using the Win+printScrn clipping for ages. Now I have Windows 8 and the feature no longer works. Any ideas?

I've just installed Windows 8 so I can dual-boot on my Windows 7 computer. Can I set the system up to share the database, no matter which OS I boot into? I can't find where to set the database location in Windows 8, and am wondering if this is safe. Should I use the Windows 7 database location or the Windows 8 database location, or am I just looking to lose all my EV data?

Hi, does anyone know how to open attachments in evernote on the Microsoft Surface? It took me a long time to synchronise my notes and even then I need an internet connection still to access my notes. I've searched through the settings and there is no option for offline notebooks. After the notes appear fully, the attachment can't seem to open. The attachment/file icon and the file size already appears but it does nothing when I press on it. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I am a windows 8 user in china, I saw evernote for win8 in win8 app store before. But recently I want to download the evernote appliaction from the win8 app store, but I could not find it! I didn't edit the preference in the app store, all the settings are default(both option are "false" now). I don't know why? Waiting for help. Thanks.

windows 8 (Archived) Win8 Store and Win8 Desktop app bugs
DreamTimerZ posted a topic in Windows Archive
In the Win8 Store app (Metro) all of my 'attachments' (e.g. a .wav file) which were created by email show up as zero bytes (0B) and thus cannot be opened. In the Win8 Desktop version the attachments show up but won't launch a Store app who accepts launch-by-file-type. The Store app selection shows up just fine but when selected, nothing happens. = Michael Lehman = Chief App Developer/Consultant and Managing Director = DreamTimeStudioZ, LLC = www.dreamtimestudioz.com -
I have recently installed the full Evernote on my Windows 8 Consumer Preview system (as opposed to the Evernote from the App Store...). Everything seems to be working well except for the Import folder (or watch folder) functionality. I use it constantly for scanned documents and it is working very well on a Windows 7 system. Has anyone successfully used this feature on Windows 8 yet? Is there a setting somewhere I am missing? Thanks!
