  1. Or better yet, uninstall it, if that is possible. I installed an Evernote update today and discovered that every time I copy text, it's turned into a note in Evernote. Among other things, this can be one hell of a security risk (try copying a password). There's also the fact that this wasn't mentioned during the update installation. And, finally, it's simply annoying. If I can't stop this behavior, then I'll have to go back to an earlier version of Evernote. If that doesn't work, goodbye, Evernote. Thanks to anyone who has an answer.
  2. I am using the IE11 web clipper plugin on an windows 7 environment. Unfortionally the simplified article function doesn't work on this site. Businessinsider.com is working fine. Would really like it if it could be fixed. website url: businessinsider.nl article url: https://www.businessinsider.nl/winst-abn-amro-krijgt-tik-bank-zet-extra-geld-opzij-voor-kredietstroppen-in-offshore-en-scheepaart/ browser: IE 11 error log: 05/14/2018 10:27:37:0391 Warning: Invoke AllowSetForegroundWindow failed
  3. Hi I don't know if anyone can help. I have not uninstalled ever note, but I can no longer find the program on my PC. There is an Icon, but no program, and when i click on the Icon for Ever note in my apps it says a newer version of Ever note is already running. There is no ever note program listed in my programs but whenever I click on remain Icon it says a new version is running, but it is not. I didn't uninstall it so I am not sure what has happened. When I log into my ever note account in the cloud, the data is still there. Questions How to best install ever note do I just override the messages (if i can ) which say an later version is running? More worryingly will I loose any of the data from the cloud When I install a new version will I be able to sinc it to the data in the cloud. Sorry to ask so many questions but I have been using for several years and a bit concerned the program has disappeared I would like to install again but don't want to loose the data. Any ideas please- thanks very much
  4. hello everbody...the plug-in is in english...how can I change to chinese tradicional ? thanks.
  5. My wife works and uses an office computer that we don't own. Is it possible to install the clipper on that machine and link it to her personal Evernote account and keep it secure? At work she does much of the same things we do in ministry. As she's looking things up at work, the clipper would be wonderful new reference source. Just want to make sure that no one at work would be able to get into here Evernote account or see what she's saved. Unfortunately, the company she's working for seems less than trustworthy in recent years. Even when she changes companies, security is still prudent. Thanks
  6. I'd like to use a few of my notebooks as collections of images on particular topics. If I'm on a web page and I right click an image and choose "clip image" it seems to clip the image automatically to my default notebook (or is it just the last notebook clipped to?). I realize I can click "edit" on the small pop up notification that appears but then I have to further click "show details" (and get redirected to the evernote site) to finally get to the dropdown menu to change the notebook. What I'm looking for is a faster solution, more like pinterest - I click the image, instantly can choose which pinboard, and click pin and I'm done: the image I've selected goes directly to the pinboard I want. To be clear, I see that when I clip an article using the evernote web clipper button on my browser the large pop-up window easily allows me to choose which notebook - I just don't see this functionality when I'm right clicking individual images.
  7. New pc windows 10 IE11 - Evernote (clip page/clip selection) is missing from right click menu although 'Add to Evernnote 5' is available on the Tools menu. My Evernote Add-in is enabled. Should I try uninstalling/reinstalling Evernote or is there an IE11 feature that I can action? Any help or ideas will be welcome!
  8. I have installed Web Clipper for IE, but no icon appears at the top of the browser. How do I make the icon appear, or else, how do I access clipper without the icon?
  9. Hello, New evernote user so... i just cannot find where to download the WEBCLIPPER to use on my WINDOWS PHONE (windows 10, edge or any other browser ok...) Thanks for helping (-; Cemicho
  10. Web clipper copies only link to newspaper. Copy, paste reduces media to unreadable size; cannot zoom. Perhaps OneNote or other software can clip article. Perhaps media or newspaper is copyright and not allowed. Extremely difficult or impossible to communicate with Evernote Support.
  11. I am getting garbled output (overlapping text, and can't edit it to clear ) when clipping pages from LWN.NET (for example trying to clip this: https://lwn.net/Articles/667059/) on both Chrome and IE (tough they are garbled in different ways). I tried Clippinhg as a Simplified article - yet new way to get it wrong. (see below for a sample) The result is not even easily edited into a clear form, as some items refuse to be moved out of the way ... "simplify formatting" seems to help, but it loses a lot of the information I'd like to keep. I am using Clipper 5.9.9.9915 , Chrome version 49.0. 2623 and IE11 on a windows 7/64 bit HP laptop. Any help/advice? Michael
  12. こんにちは。 IEのWeb Clipperを使用しているんですが、PDFがクリップできません。 PDFのクリップ方法を教えてください。
  13. Hi, new to Evernote, can you please tell me how to find the icon of the evernote clip elephant, when I am on a web page. Thank you.
  14. Looked around here a bit, and haven't found anyone else with this complaint yet - maybe I didn't look long enough, or maybe it's unique to my computer... It's a Lenovo E530, recently upgraded to Win10, although this problem hasn't changed as a result of the upgrade. Windows 10, Evernote Version 6.1.2.2292 (302292) I usually use IE to browse, but sometimes Firefox. Web Clipper never seems to finish when I clip a page from Firefox (that IS new), the little spinning thing just keeps spinning. When using IE, the clipper works fast, but many pages appear mangled - a number of lines in the middle of the clipped page have printed over other lines, making it impossible to read it through. (See attached screenshot) Anyone else seen this - if so, what do I do about it?
  15. Using Evernote 5.8.3.6507 with Windows 10 Technical Preview and Internet Explorer 11.0.9800.0 Unable to get the "Add to Evernote 5" icon to work to do a clip of web pages. I get a popup error window with contents of NaN, attached. Any suggestions? Have tried disabling the Evernote Add In and then enabling again but same result. I think I posted in wrong section as I actually use Evernote product not Web Clipper
  16. I have been using Firefox but am now switching to IE. In Firefox, when I hit the clipper icon, a dialog pops up, and it allows me to select "article" to clip rather than "page". In IE, I do not see an icon, but "Clip this page" comes up in the right click menu (and there is no item "clip this article"). If I select the "clip this page" item from the right click menu, indeed the page is correctly clipped to Evernote. But, I want the functionality of "clip the article" not the page. How can I do this in IE? Thanks!
  17. My wife has Evernote on her User Account, and I have it on mine. The web clipper shows on hers, but not on mine. It does not even show up as being available to activate for me. When she uses the clipper, sometimes it does not clip at all. Other times it clips as it should, or it clips to my Evernote account! Really strange!! We are using IE 11 and Windows 7. She has this problem even though her name is shown on Evernote Desktop or Evernote Web.
  18. I just installed Evernote desktop for my wife, on her user account. I also use it on my user account. If she is on her account, when she opens Evernote, her name appears as it should. But if she uses the webclipper, for some reason it clips to my Evernote account instead of hers. I can't figure out what's going on. Any suggestions will be appreciated greatly. Ed
  19. I have Windows 8.1, the latest IE, and I guess what they call Metro on my tablet. So the instructions say that I 'may need to add the Web Clipper button to my browser.' I'm talking about the little green button with the elephant on it that I guess I would click on to add web site stuff to my notebooks. How do I add that?
  20. Hi all, Maiden post from a Long time lurker! As the title suggests: I'm using Internet Explorer daily to take notes from lectures. However, when i come to read these notes later on my iPad or iPhone, they are illegible. All the text appears over the top of each other, and it's impossible to read anything! Does anybody know how to prevent this happening (apart from the obvious of taking the notes in ios in the first place!)?? Thanks in advance
  21. Hello. I'm new to Evernote and have been muddling through several issues and using this forum to sort them out. However, I still can't seem to resolve one issue. In the screen shots of web clipper there is a little icon of the elephant that you press to clip the web page to Evernote. I downloaded the Web Clipper today (26 Sept 13)(not sure of what version it is), and I use Windows7 and IE10. There is a double arrow in the top right that is a drop down list that has 'Add to Evernote' but I was just wondering if there is a way to get the icon on the toolbar for a quicker way to clip? Thanks.
  22. I'm having trouble with merged clipped documents. I can merge them OK, but I can't print BOTH them. For example, I have merged doc 1 and doc 2 to produce doc 1-2. I can print either doc 1 or doc 2, but not doc 1-2. There is a vertical bar that shows up to the right of the doc (either 1 or 2), depending on where my cursor is. How do I make that vertical bar encompass the entire document (doc 1-2)? Thanks in advance. Joe
  23. I know this is a constant issue, has anyone found a solution? I am using windows 8 and IE. When I clip the site from the web bar I get text but not the images (site http://www.slaverysite.com/index.html) (I tried to copy and paste the results, but when I hit submit for this posting I got the error 'You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community'.) I have created this website to serve as a resource for information about the Atlantic slave trade and slavery in America. It contains many references and links to primary sources of information, a list that I hope will grow to become one of the most complete that can be found anywhere. The website, however, is intended to be more than a list of sources. I have included information about a number of slavery-related topics of interest, for those who want a basic understanding of the subject. For a deeper understanding, and access to a wealth of images, maps, and accounts of historical events available on the internet and in textbooks, I invite you to consult the sources listed in the Sources and Selected Links section of this website. Dr. Neil A. Frankel The Atlantic Slave Trade The Portuguese established trading forts on the west coast of sub-Sahara Africa in the 15th century, trading European goods including beads, cloth, guns, ammunition, horses, and rum for gold, ivory, and slaves. Later, the Dutch, French and English became active in the trade. A triangular trading scheme emerged once the Europeans established holdings in the New World. In the first part of the triangle, the ships would leave Europe loaded with goods for barter in Africa. In the second part, also known as the Middle Passage because it was the middle of a three-part trading sequence, the ships would cross the Atlantic and head for the New World with a cargo of slaves to sell, and to purchase sugar, molasses, tobacco and other local crops. In the third part of the voyage, the ships would return to Europe to sell the New World products and begin the triangle once again. Slavery in America African slaves were first brought to North America in the 17th century, to work in the tobacco fields. Later, slaves were needed to grow sugar cane, rice and cotton. Charleston, South Carolina was the largest slave port in the years leading up to the passage of a law prohibiting the importation of slaves, in 1808. The law was passed at the urging of Thomas Jefferson, and coincided with similar legislation in England (Slave Trade Act of 1807). The new American law stated, in part, "Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That from and after the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eight, it shall not be lawful to import or bring into the United States or the territories thereof from any foreign kingdom, place, or country, any negro, mulatto, or person of colour, with intent to hold, sell, or dispose of such negro, mulatto, or person of colour, as a slave, or to be held to service or labour." Sadly, slavery in some states continued to be legal until the Civil War. By 1804, every northern state had passed abolition laws, the last being New Jersey. Pennsylvania passed a gradual abolition law in 1780 that did not free existing slaves. New York state followed with a similar gradual abolition law in 1799, finally abolishing slavery in the state on July 4, 1827. Slavery in Massachusetts was, in effect, abolished in 1780, resulting from a new bill of rights in the state constitution that declared "all men are born free and equal, and have ... the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberty." A series of court decisions that year, the last of which was the "Commonwealth v. Jennison" case, had the effect of abolishing slavery in the state (19). The Emancipation Proclamation issued January 1, 1863 by President Abraham Lincoln declared that slaves were to be freed in the 'rebellious' states. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." Given that the Civil war was still in progress, many slaves continued their life in bondage until the Union Army advanced to their location. Some fled across the Union lines to gain freedom, where they were known as 'contrabands.' Conditions of Use and Disclaimer Recognition Listed Site Christine's Genealogy Website 2008
  24. Trying to click "Download Webclipper" on evernote.com/webclipper/ but nothing happens when I click the button. Status bar says it's just trying to go to the same page .../# Since there's nothing posted in your status or forums about this being a known problem today, I've spent time trying to fix it on my end. I have tried flushing my cache, deleting temp files, restarting browser, rebooting computer, All with same results. Any suggestions? Thanks. Jill
  25. Greetings, all... At the request of a client, I've tweaked the 5.1.0.241767 beta of the Firefox extension to install under SeaMonkey, on all previously supported platforms and added support for OS/2 (which is handled like Linux, but uses the same path separators as Windows). I've tested it under SeaMonkey 2.7.2 on OS/2 (eComStation 2.1), 2.9.1 on openSUSE 12.1, and 2.9.1 on Windows 2000 (I don't have a Mac handy at the moment). I'd like to submit the changes to Evernote for possible inclusion in official releases, but need approval as the code does not appear to be open source.
