  1. After taking a photo of a page of text with my iPhone, how can I process the photo of said page in order to extract the highlighted area of the text as a note using (EN) for Mac?
  2. Since 2011, Evernote has been my teacher website to deliver agendas, links, activities..like everyone else. The past 2 weeks or so - students cannot access my website at all. 3. I'm a computer consultant who does 1:1 lessons with clients. I have used Evernote for many years to take notes and jot down tips when I learn something new. I also use it to keep keystroke by keystroke instructions for client instructions. Right now I copy the information and paste it into a Word Document and email or print out for the client. Is it possible to share the note with a client via email even if they don't have or want to sign up for an Evernote account?
  4. I had students create 6 journal entries in one notebook for a project. I would like the student to export a notebook (not just single notes) and then be able to print them out. All the help topics about exporting seem to refer to older versions of Evernote. Students have ipads with the app... Please help...
  5. I think if Evernote were able to integrate with Schoology, that combination would be a huge benefit to students and teachers. Currently, users of Schoology can send notes to dropbox, from Evernote, or just email the notes... but real integration, especially on the ipad apps, would be ideal. Schoology says that their API is open, so anyone could make a widget to connect these two great systems... I wish I knew how to program!
  6. Our students all have iPads with iWorks on them. We are using the notebooks feature in Evernote to organize by subject. When a student sends a file from Pages, Numbers or Keynote, we cannot move the file into the notebook. Is there a way to do that?

  8. I've recently updated my blog with a post about why Evernote should be part of any 1:1 scheme for schools. We are currently trialling iPads looking at a 1:1 scheme and I've outlined some ways Evernote can help our students here: http://newtechtimeline.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/10-ways-evernote-can-help-make-students-more-productive/
  9. http://tabtimes.com/news/education/2012/02/20/apples-ipad-helps-improve-kindergarten-literacy-maine A study conducted at a school district in Auburn, Maine has found that Apple's iPad can be used to help improve kindergartner literacy scores. Meanwhile, in a separate announcement, a school in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, has revealed its initial findings from its own iPad pilot program. Sherwood Middle School rolled-out 53 iPads to students and teachers from 1st December last year. Teachers at the school say that the iPad has allowed them to maximise the time spent on teaching the lesson, rather than distributing materials, with Evernote often is use to save notes and projects across multiple devices. Evernote is also being used so that students can access and submit assignments. The teachers say that they and the students rely on around ten apps in all, including Apple’s Keynote and ShowMe – an interactive whiteboard app. The teachers add that there have been few behavioural problems with the tablet, with the odd occasion relating to students forgetting to bring their tablets to school, or emailing friends during class. Of the 53 tablets handed out, three have been damaged.
  10. Educators tout success of Shrewsbury iPad experiment http://www.telegram....LATE=TOWNPORTAL According to the teachers, the devices allow them to maximize the amount of time spent on teaching the lesson, rather than distributing materials and worrying about students who have lost their assignments. Using Evernote, a program that allows users to save notes and projects across multiple devices, teachers can post assignments or documents that students can access on their own iPads. Evernote also allows teachers to have a record of assignments that students have submitted, which minimizes the chances that such documents will be lost. “It's fitting in seamlessly,” said Ms. McMahon, noting the intuitive nature of the devices. “We're not teaching the technology, we're teaching the subjects.” Mr. Middlesworth pointed out that the devices have saved a great deal of paper, and time photocopying, since work can be assigned and completed digitally. The students said they have less need for binders and notebooks, since those are provided by some of the iPad apps.

  13. Evernote at School: The Montclair Kimberley Academy’s 1:1 Program Students and faculty at the Montclair Kimberley Academy are using Evernote for everything from language learning to planning theater performances to collaborating on research projects to studying plant and insect development. In only a few months, Evernote has become a critical tool both inside and outside the classroom. Here’s their story The Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) is a K-12 private school of around 1000 students. At the start of the 2010-2011 school year, MKA launched a 1:1 (one-to-one) Program, in which every student, grades four through twelve, was given a MacBook Pro laptop, a backup drive, an Evernote Premium subscription, and some other software products. In addition, all teachers were given an Evernote Premium subscription. The goal of the MKA 1:1 program was to provide students and faculty with the best, most advanced educational tools available.
