  1. I just noticed - You posted a screenshot of right-click on a note title The ⌘ Delete shortcut applies to the Note > Delete Note menu item Untitled clipping.textClipping
  2. 3 March 2017 This untitled note problem still exists. Why isn't evernote doing anything about it? I want the first line of Note to set as title. It's annoying to see so many 'untitled notes' in my evernote.
  3. Laziness brings innovation I guess. To clarify, I was creating and composing new notes (titles) through the reminder widget. I think that is pertinent because the notes may have never had an existence where their title was anything other than the defaulted "Untitled Note". I think that the lost data was briefly in some volatile memory and perhaps made it into a log file if the failed title was caught and considered to be an error. Appreciate your suggestion and insight regarding the history database existing for basic users.
  4. Hi, @Truzzle, and welcome to the forums! That's an interesting use for Evernote and its reminders. The one suggestion I'd have is to sign up for Premium for just one month, and then drop back to Basic. The one month of Premium will give you access to note history (which is maintained for all accounts, including Basic), and you might find your missing notes there--assuming that they had an existence long enough to be synced to Evernote's servers, which it sounds like they did, since they appeared as Untitled in the notebook.
  5. Just a point of correction You can't have a note with a blank title If you try to use a blank title, Evernote will insert "Untitled" Regardless, you could post a request saying if the title is "Untitled" it should not print
  6. Yes, I admit I failed the Evelyn Wood speed reading course in elementary school. But Evernote expects me to read and understand their help pop-up screens in less than 5 seconds. For example: >Tools >Options >Note >Set new note focus to title "Check this note to set the focus to the note's title instead of the note's body when creating a new note. When an untitled note is saved, the first line of the note's body is used as the note's title, so you don't need to specify the title specifically." According to my stopwatch, I have 4.1 seconds to read and understand the
  7. Might be user error in some what shape or form... but I'll try to duplicate it. In the mean time, I had a marked up image have all the mark up notes disappear. Notes initially added on windows 6.13.14 - when viewing notes on ipad, noticed the markups gone... back to windows and markups gone. Perhaps there are some device sync issues occurring like I've definitely noticed with shortcuts. the snippet thumbnail shows a partial glimpse of where the notes were. . More testing and it did it again. Wiped the notes off the windows markup - also seems to be generati
  8. Dear Devs, On Evernote for Windows 5.x, how about the following: 1. The auto-title functionality for note titles, should be available to be switched on and off in the options. Reason for this is to please both types of users: the ones who like to give titles manually, and the ones who don't. 2. If set to on, the note auto-title should always take effect whenever the title of a note is left blank (i.e. deleted). And by auto-title I mean that the first line (up to a certain amount of characters) from the note body is used as the note title. The use case would be: Whenever a user would li
  9. HI, I wonder if it's my local issue only. After upgrading to Sierra and Evernote 6.9.2 I noticed typing "a" anywhere (in Evernote or any other app) when Evernote is running behaves as "Paste to Evernote": new "Untitled" note is created with the current clipboard content. Obviously, I have no such shortcut and tried remapping a relevant shortcut in settings to anything or deleting it - nothing helps. Re-installed Evernote 6.9.2 from scratch, rebooted the Mac (it's mac Book Air, if it helps) - the problem still persists. I have disabled Evernote Helper as I never used it before. Basica
  10. There is a request for this feature: You could go there and click on the up arrow at the top to vote for it. There's also a recent topic in the Android discussion forum: WRT controlling auto-titling by place and calendar event, in the app click the menu button at top left, scroll down to settings, then Notes, and see the Add Info section. Of course, it's always possible to add a title to a note manually so they're not Untitled. That way you can give it something distinctive within an overall system of organization.
  11. Why on earth isn't there the option of making our notes with auto title.... without it being interrupted with Calendar events or Location...??!!!! like just auto title, so it's a little preview of the note as it mostly does, unless you have a calender event which then ruins the note title and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn this off, otherwise the notes are all Untitled Notes..... can't there just be AUTO TITLE without calender or location in the title? I am. glad to have the gps as part of the note but not the note saying 'Note from....' every time!!!! maybe this is a
  12. It looks like Evernote has finally added the feature to Auto-title notes using the first line for iOS Evernote users but Android users who have been asking for this feature like forever are neglected. Why? Several thousands of my notes are an 'Untitled Note' mess.
  13. Hi, with filterize.net you can use a filter that renames your files titled 'untitled note' to what you prefer, including variables such as the time the note was created. Cheers Alex
  14. Hello I am writing about the probems i have with evernote and auto titling I absolutely use auto titling with every note, i dont want to specifically write a separate note title each time I like to write a note and after it takes the first part of the note and makes it the title / introduction to the note... however ... in Mac. app there doesnt seem to be any auto title...!!! every note is always Untitled NOTE !!!!!! unless i must go and write specifically a new title for each note , this is terrible then in android, it does make the auto title thank
  15. Dear all The follow behaviour is annoying and reduces the ease of use of evernote: "when we create a new note, I cannot write directly the title, it switch automatically to the note. If I click back in the title bar, then, it cuts me from writing, trying to put "Untitled note" insted of what I'm writing. So I have to click a third time in the title bar, to correct the text that poped up. 3 clicks and a correction to do each time I try to put a title to a new note." In Options > Note > place the focus on the title helps but this manipulation needs to be done on each of the devic
  16. Since a couple of versions back I still experience that when I paste text into a new note i won't always save the text (the title still says Untitled note as well), which makes me lose the content. The only way to make sure that the text is saved is to manipulate the note manually after pasting...
  17. As far as I can recall using Evernote, changing the first line is the same thing as changing the title, in any note, until the title is edited directly, then the title sticks. I can consistently reproduce this behavior It used to be a little annoying, but now I have come to expect it, hate the fact that in Android the default is "untitled note", first line is a better stop gap I used to be a Palm Pilot user, that is exactly how it behaves as well, so I guess I am used to it, I like the fact that the behavior can be easily stopped by simply editing the title after the note is cre
  18. Is there anything one could do to get this working in 2018? The majority of my notes are very unhelpfully automatically named "Untitled Note" . Really annoying. It's such a standard in so many applications to name a file with the first line of text, it bewilders me after all this years Evernote doesn't even have this option under settings.
  19. Hi Super Guru, The note history isn't available for missing notes. It seems to be only an option for notes that still exist. Weird how Evernote deleted the note without keeping it in the trash. Maybe it has to do with the 2 devices and having it start as an empty untitled note. I appreciate the reply. I hope Evernote compensates you for your time! I doubt I'll hear from support. Past support tickets get ignored and when I take to Twitter I get the response that they've made it a priority ticket but it disappears into the black hole where my note probably went as well! I ha
  20. Ok I see. Let me clarify where it happens. When you hold the evernote app down on the iphone and select "new photo" . The title is defaulted "untitled note". You are right that yu dont get the default title if you click "new note". So it seems that the bug is limited to a new photo not new note.
  21. I am having the same problem. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I'd much rather have "Untitled Note." It is very confusing to me, and tiresome to have to always be forced to make a note title. "Untitled note" will at least allow all my untitled notes together. Right now, depending on the day I get "Note from ABC," "Note from XYZ," "Note from PQR," etc. depending on what my most recent repeat calendar item is. Thus I end up with a lot of notes alphabetized under these "Note from PQR"-type titles. Perhaps if it said "Note from (date)" that would be okay, but I certainly don't w
  22. I can get this to work, but only in the sense that it will create a new note in Evernote. I can't get it to append an existing note. I have a note I created in my personal premium account called "Capture". I created it in the iOS client (not via Siri) and the note title is "Capture". I asked Siri to "Add 'order lunch' to my 'capture' note". Siri said "To confirm, you'd like your note to say "Add order lunch to my capture note". If I say no, I can't get Siri to correct it. If I say yes, it creates a new untitled note with the body text of "order lunch to my
  23. Yeah, I had used this workaround but in the 6.14 beta 2 the image gallery does not work either ? I double click the image and nothing happens. In beta 1 the gallery showed up but dragndropping from it also gave me an untitled clipping... Since I don’t care that much about the image gallery I figured I’d rather report the behavior that gives me trouble.
  24. Yes, if you click in the note editor first and then click and drag to select the image it will turn completely blue, and when you drag and drop to the desktop you'll get the untitled clipping. This is something the developers are investigating, but I don't have an estimate on a fix. However, if you click once on the image and get the blue border outline, you can then successfully drag the image to the desktop. Definitely not the most intuitive for all workflows, but you should be able to get the image out of Evernote without having to enter into image gallery. Here's an example:
  25. Something that's been giving me grief for a while : drag-n-drop an image file (e.g. PNG) in a note. Now drag-n-drop the same image file to the desktop. Instead of an image file, I get a file called "Untitled clipping" that I can't do anything with. This is very unconvenient. Evernote mac Version 6.14 Beta 2 (456074 Direct)
