  1. I have my personal, and two work accounts (all Google/GSuite) added to Evernote for Calendar integration. I'm in the Calendar with automatic notes Beta. I am only seeing a couple meetings per day on my calendar in Evernote, although all notes appear fine in my Google Calendar. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my accounts. Selecting all relevant calendars. No change in results. I have seen the same experience in the last two versions (currently on 10.23.7). Same results on Android, ios, and web versions of Evernote.
  2. Google Gboard has an extremely useful feature to quickly change the capitalization of a word after you've already typed it. Simply highlight the word and then tap the shift key to cycle through uncapitalized, first letter capitalized, or all letters capitalized. See animated gif below. Unfortunately, since the very first Android beta release (before the public launch of V10) this useful feature instead results in Evernote deleting the word instead. Confirmed still present for me as of the latest version 10.11 (1114563). As of recent Evernote versions, not only does the word get deleted but now the view jumps to the top of the note, making it extra annoying (particularly in a longer note). There's a long thread in the Android private beta forum tracking this issue but I didn't see one in the public issues forum so I wanted to post this and gain some visibility.
  3. I'm on an Intel Macbook Pro running Monterey 12 beta. Evernote is left running continuously, and after a period of days, I will sometimes see high CPU usage of "Evernote Helper (Renderer) " processes. There is usually more than one running. A restart of Evernote fixes this. I'm on mains power mostly, but if on battery, it would obviously suck some juice. 10.22.3-mac-ddl-public (2958) Editor: v132.1.16932 Service: v1.40.3 © 2019 - 2021 Evernote Corporation. 4. Hi. Personally I'm in Wales UK (we're mainly users hereabouts...) but I doubt you'll get any projections out of Evernote on new releases - the Linux version is still in private beta, though the Web version is pretty good these days. I use that a lot from Linux Mint!
  5. Hi! In "regular" Evernote, I can open an encrypted note and view it by entering my chosen password. From that point, I can read AND EDIT anything I like. In the Beta version, my encrypted notes are NOT editable, I can only read them. The only way I can find to edit them is to "permanently decrypt" them first. Then I have to re-encrypt them when I've finished. This is NOT helpful! Not only that, but when I "permanently decrypt" and re-encrypt, much of the formatting is lost, including blank lines and bold text. And it seems lost permanently; if I try to decrypt, re-format the text and then re-encrypt, the new formatting just disappears again! So, the issues are: 1) I don't want to have to fully decrypt a note to edit it and then have to remember to re-encrypt it. 2) I need to be able to add (and retain) text formatting to my encrypted notes. Both of these are fine in "regular" Evernote, but broken in the Beta version. This is the first time I've taken part in a beta evaluation; I hope I'm providing the sort of information that is required. David
  6. I don't understand the rationale of eliminating the "SYNC" button. I'm on the road a good part of the time and am making constant changes/additional to my notes. Pressing the SYNC button and getting an immediate confirmation of the spinning wheel gives me confidence the file has been updated for all my devices (cell, iPad, desktops & laptops) and I can move on. Having to check the web or cell phone to verify if the changes did in fact update, is a waste of time and leaves me weary that something may not get updated properly if I am in a hurry and forget to verify. Please bring the SYNC button back. I'm not sure if anyone from the Evernote Beta Team is reviewing these comments as I have not seen a response on anybody's posts.
  7. Giving up Windows - LOL Only appr. 85% market share in the PC market ... just launched Windows 11. Running of Android apps on Windows 11 devices (except beta) delayed until at least (!) late 2022 ... Whatever you want to do in the future - avoid strategic planning, probably not your sort of job !
  8. To compare the current incarnation of V10 with the beta (or even the preview before that) is a little disingenuous. For example there were huge delays between tagging and being able to search or filter for that tag. Now, for me, filtering is updated instantaneously and it normally only take a few seconds for search to also update. In addition tag based search or filter results now update automatically if you remove a tag from one of the found notes but admittedly not as fast as I would like it to. Filters can also now be saved. I'm personally not seeing any issues with incomplete results. If the tag in the sidebar says it is attached to 200 notes and I click it I get 200 notes. V10 is still not as fast as legacy and there are still plenty of things that need to be worked on in in the "tag based search" arena. However, enough progress has been made for me to believe that EN will probably still meet my needs going forward.
  9. Perhaps Fabricioz is still in the early stage of grieving. It’s also not too productive spending an inordinate amount of time describing the same issue multiple times. After a period, you realize that folk either have left Evernote or are in damage control. I tried to reason and expound what I saw as woeful inadequacies of tag-based searches since beta testing for Evernote ver 10 to no avail. Being a follower of GTD since 2010, fast based responses is a must to your Next Actions list or any other search needed to support your ground-level task management. Evernote is no longer able to support these reasonable queries (except for the previous version of Evernote on my iPhone or classic desktop version). After a year of frustration with this tool, awareness that legacy versions will not be permitted indefinitely, and tremendously ballooned pricing, I’ve transitioned fully my GTD process to ToDoist which is much better tool for this purpose. My paid subscription will last until the Spring so I intend to use Evernote occasionally as it remains the repository of past paper-less storage (close to 8000 notes). Work stuff is transitioning to “company approved” Onenote. Home and free thinking stuff has transitioned, like Fabricioz, to Notion. I bid you well and enjoy the remaining ride on Evernote.
  10. I'm still on EN v7.14 on all my Macs, but I upgraded my (non-mission critical) Macbook Pro a few days ago to MacOS Monterey Public Beta and now EN will not display any PDF files. I just get "Missing Plugin" in the note pane. So I bit the bullet, and installed the latest Evernote v10 on that same Macbook Pro. Now it displays the PDF files in notes - but in a weird way - it only displays one page at a time, and you have to scroll to the bottom of every single page to find the forward/back arrows and click on them. A complete pain in the ass to find your way through a hundred page PDF...! Can't use the scroll bar, and there's no overview strip of the pages under the note pane as there is on the iPad, for example. v10 on Monterey also seems to take forever to load up and start working, whereas I'm used to the lightning fast startup time of v7.14. Overall, I'm not happy with version 10 at all, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to it running on the Monterey Beta. And I'm not game to upgrade my perfectly-working v7.14 on my other Macs that ARE mission critical. So - what is the "missing plugin" in Monterey? Is it something I can download separately and install? Is it something that is likely to be fixed with an update to the Beta of Monterey, so that I can then revert to my v7.14 (which I still have installed alongside v10)? Anyone any clues?
  11. Hi. I have an error in my evernote Beta (I assume that it is the latest version, I can't check as I can't access). It appears when I open it (and then with the OK button ,it closes, so I can't open it. I uninstalled my "alpha" prior version as now I have the beta, and then I started getting this "Error ENOENT: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY. I want to download my beta version again, but I don't find any place to do it. I feel comfortable with the beta, I don't want to go to the original version. Any help?
  12. I've recently upgraded to macOS Monterey 12.0 Beta Evernote seems to be running fine but I am regularly seeing this pop up. See attached screenshot. 13. AFAIK EN limits the number of beta participants. Basically when all slots are takenl, there is a waiting list. If one beta tester drops out, the next one is moved up. So to join you must count on beta testing be boring enough for others to leave.
  14. It's still happening with the new Windows V10.22.3 I create a new note and am typing text into it. I start seeing a blue message box with, "We found more than one version of <note title>. You can view the alternate here." I look over to the left pane with the note list and, yep, there are now four versions of my new note each one has a different snapshot of what I was typing. I have to delete the three bogus copies. The note had a title and a bullet list; no tasks, no attachments - just plain text. This has happened on two different notes out of a couple dozen, or so, new notes since I installed the new client version. I saw this months ago in a beta test, reported it, and it seemed to be fixed. It's back.
  15. After posting, I found an earlier post about the same problem. I added my experience to that long list. See that post I create a new note and am typing text into it. I start seeing a blue message box with, "We found more than one version of <note title>. You can view the alternate here." I look over to the left pane with the note list and, yep, there are now four versions of my new note each one has a different snapshot of what I was typing. I have to delete the three bogus copies. This has happened on two different notes out of a couple dozen, or so, new notes. I don't think I'm doing anything differently to cause Evernote to just start making multiple copies as I'm typing. I saw this months ago in a beta test, reported it, and it seemed to be fixed. It's back.
  16. I've been using the beta version of an Evernote client for Linux for several months and it's been working out well for me. https://evernote.com/intl/us/b1433t1422 The beta is still open (as far as I know) as I just used this link to install the beta on a new machine. (I was hoping to get the ability to select multiple notes for movement to a different notebook and, sure enough, the capability exists within the beta; ctrl+click is your friend). EDIT: For what it's worth, this beta Linux (10.7.6) version also works mighty fine to bring a proper Evernote client to my Chromebook (an Acer Spin 713, Evernote installed as a Linux app)
  17. Hi, I currently have v6.16.1 b1465 installed on my Mac. It tells me there is an update, but crashes imediately after showing the loader. And the version numbers last year are way higher? There is Preview, Beta, Home ... can anyone clear things up for me? This is really confusing. What's the latest version for MacOS. Does the stable version already include the new editor? Thanks, Michael
  18. Well, not sure if it is a release version yet. Else it may be reported to support under the beta testing regime. I am using Linux only on my Raspberry Pi.
  19. The new Tasks feature is great. How about adding an option for an alert at time of event?
  20. Hi, I got an email through about this, I did the upgrade but cna't see any instructions about how to actually use it or how to create the integration. I might have missed it but have had a good look. Please can you provide a link or details. Thanks Chris
  21. Greetings! I have been a user of Evernote for a number of years now. It's a great product. In my work life, I am forced to use Windows on my workstation, and am provided with OneNote. At first I was resistant, but since Evernote is blocked by corporate policy, I gave it a shot. And I came to find that a native application such as OneNote on Windows is amazing. I know Evernote offers native clients for Windows, and Mac, and Android, and iOS... But you are missing one major player... Linux.... In my personal life, I use Linux on all of my boxes. And as I'm sure you are aware, native note taking apps for Linux are woefully lacking. Evernote's web app is handy, and is moderately usable. But in all honesty, it does not compare to something like the native OneNote client. And to be fair, the OneNote web app does not compare to a native app, either. I can't say I have any experience with your native Windows app, since I don't have any desire to run Windows at home. I joined the Evernote Early Access Program, hoping that I could be a part of beta testing a Linux client. And to my disappointment, it doesn't seem that any such beta testing is ongoing, as I've not been contacted by the EAP team. My suggestion/request is this... Please release a native Linux client for Evernote. We need a decent note-taking application. You could fill that void. The Linux market is not as niche as it used to be, and even non-technical users are starting to make the switch. Take advantage of that. I would have been paying for Evernote's Premium service for years now, if you offered a Linux client. I'd pay the yearly fee right now without pausing. I'm betting I'm not the only person who would happily do so. Thank you for your time and consideration!
  22. Hi All, I signed up for the Linux beta client program about a month ago. I got the email yesterday with a link to get through the legal stuff and downloaded a Linux client. Since I just downloaded it I can't attest to it's features. I use OneNote in my day job where Windows rules. It is good. Real good. I would be totally lost without it. I don't know if there's a OneNote client for my phone... maybe I don't want to know, but I love the evernote ios client. I was forced to look for an alternative to OneNote a few years back when the company I was working for at the time dumped O365 and went Google. I'm running the beta on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. I'm not new to Linux; I was building systems out of the 0.1x releases in the early '90s. But I had a huge gap since then of not using it so I'm learning many of the new features... and how to do things. You know longer have to compile/make the source code to install a new program I recently dumped my Windows personal machine when I got bitlockered out after one of the many software updates. For no reason it decided it was time to validate my access... which I didn't have... the bitlocker was installed by my former employer who went out of business. Thanks C-19.
  23. So this is a long standing issue which does not seem to attract the attention of Evernote dev team so I'm trying to see how many others still have this issue too, and what may we do about it. Basically, I think any user of the desktop version (not the new beta) would agree that the web version (classic or new) is much more crippled in comparison. You cannot edit attachments (e.g., to annotate PDFs), merge notes, etc. There are two 'outstanding' bugs. The first is that the button "Copy Internal Link" does not do what Ctrl + Alt + L does, despite labelling the latter as a shortcut of the former. If you use the button in the Context Menu, it yields a "https://www.evernote.com/shard/" link, which does not open in browser, unless you paste that in another Evernote note (and then copy that again). As other users have pointed out, this is a great impediment to users' workflows which incorporate other apps, like OneNote, Todoist, etc. Internal links (a la evernote:///view/) can only be generated by clicking Ctrl + Alt + L. evernote:///view/ (Of course, one may argue that this is "by design", because "internal" doesn't mean "desktop" and can include an https link. Well...) Relatedly, the second issue is opening https links in the desktop app. Contrary to some forum users' claims that this is by design, this used to be a feature, until the development team took away the enAppInstalled cookie, perhaps with a view to forcing users to open links in the web-app instead of the desktop app. (The development team, in my collection and I would be happy to be corrected, has not explained why the cookie was removed.) I think supposedly, another Chrome/Chromium extension can be written which automatically parses and converts https:// links to evernote:// links (the two links use similar elements). But, of course, if there can be an official solution, this would not be necessary.
  24. Hi All, With the closure of Google +, we've launched this new section within the discussion forums to act as a centralized location where we will announce new beta releases for Evernote for Android, and where users can share their questions, thoughts, and feedback regarding those betas! If you're wondering how to enroll in the Android Beta for Evernote, please see this. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any other questions!
  25. I have been using the Evernote Beta since December. It was working fine when I got my new phone. Yesterday, it and many of my other apps messed up. I had to factory reset my phone. I have looked in my email from the original invite to the Beta, but it says it has expired and I can't get the download info. I don't want to open the original app for fear that I may lose everything I've added since December. Can anyone help me find the Beta download link, so I can hopefully get all of my info back?
