  1. I am getting a little frustrated with the Task feature being more apparent in the Evernote applications. Does anyone know if it's possible to hide the purple Task create-button button in the sidebar - or even better; disable the Task feature completely? 🤔
  2. I'd always spend my money on better tools rather than new clothes.. This is like the sweater you got for Christmas that you'd likely return 😂
  3. Thanks for this! Yes, it seems that is the sole purpose..sadly
  4. I think the most important question being asked here is; what exactly is Evernote trying to accomplish with this upcoming UI update? Effectiveness? New features/functions? Nothing really changed or added, but just for aesthetics? Did you do a mass user survey asking us what we would like to see improved/missing in the UI? Did you ask us to rate different design templates? Did I miss this somewhere or could you explain, @Federico Simionato ?☺️ Personally, I was hoping for: Speed improvement (I still find it to be sluggish - Windows Desktop user) Tab-functionality (crazy that Evernote does not support this) Option of focused search "pop-up" taking more real estate of the screen (in addition to having the current sidebar search functionality). This enlarged focus view could f.ex. offer the option of displaying text snippets from inside each note with keywords highlighted, etc. This would go hand-in-hand with the value Evernote provides as an archive/retrieve system - with its search engine being a competitor killer and newly added AI search functionality. Dear Evernote. Know your audience, improve your weaknesses, and build on your strengths..
  5. Same here. Continously getting error prompts when performing searches (both in notebooks and global) stating: "Permission lost, you can no longer access notebook". I'm using the latest desktop versions for windows version 10.59.5. Searching is my main function of Evernote, so this is a critical bug.
  6. Hey @Neil Maxfield all good, hope the same for you! Yes, this is expected and works all fine - even without filtering for PDFs. But as mentioned, it will not highlight search terms in the PDF. Although it taking another step, it seems like you can do another search inside the Evernote PDF viewer for iOS. Though, this is not the same story for the android application. This leaves me forced to open another application to do a simple search - making the whole process of "Get what you need when you need it" not so powerful..
  7. @PinkElephant Very sad to see the lack of platform consistency in the Evernote app..
  8. @PinkElephant I see no magnifying glass? only the open/share icon. I'm using the latest version of Evernote on my Android phone (google pixel 7). What device are you using? Are you sure you opened the PDF in the Evernote PDF viewer and not in another application? Are you sure? The "Find in note" function on my mobile app will not search PDF files. I tested on multiple notes with multiple PDFs. It gives me 0 hits even though the search terms live in multiple places within the PDF file.
  9. Something that has been bothering me.. When performing a search on the Desktop application; search words are highlighted in the PDF preview inside a note. However, in the Evernote mobile app; search words are not highlighted (there are no PDF previews). You would think, upon opening the PDF file inside the Evernote Mobile App, that you should be able to perform a search (you are not..) Even Apple Notes can do this? Is anyone else frustrated that the "Best Note and Archiving tool" on the market cannot do this? "Get what you need, when you need it with powerful, flexible search capabilities." Personally, I use Evernote for Capturing, Archiving, and Retrieval of information - and I feel these were the pillars of Evernote's birth and existence. Lately, it seems like Evernote has been trying to play catch up with other new players on the market, with all kinds of new productivity features (i.e. task and team features). Imo, when trying to be - All Things to All People - you will most likely lose. I hope Evernote will consider to simplify and re-focus its product towards its pillars of existence. Anyways, while I'm at it, I'm wishing for a better search overview in files/attachments (both mobile and desktop), faster note retrieval, improved app reliability/stability, and proper automated back-up (offline) functionality. I will finish off by saying that I am excited about Evernote's announcement of AI Search functionality being in the works. Am I alone in thinking this?
  10. Just an idea; why not prompt the user with some choices when hitting the AI Cleanup? i.e. 1) Overwrite 2) Create duplicate 3) Insert Cleanup version at the top of the note..
  11. Adds to the point 🙃 my spouse would have absolutely no idea what to do - and if she did, would she be comfortable in doing so?
  12. Thanks for sharing this option @agsteele This was the solution offered by a github user, using Homebrew or PIPX install files, and Python?
