app. 1 second with 20625 files
Yep - but Files ist faster - and will be limited to attachments 😉.
Regarding deleted attachments: If they reside in Files even after Trash is cleaned: Might be either a caching problem or is simply a bug for the moment...Can you multiselect files and drag these to your desktop?

The table of contents links don't work in the exported html
edit: They don't work in the exported pdf either

A ticket will be called "Solved" when there is no solution - it is then solved by defining there is no solution. It may be closed when an issue was passed on to the devs - the solution is to add it to the backlog.
Keeping these tickets open would do no good. It may sound contradictory, but from a support view point they are solved (= answered).
never heard about states?

unfortunately on a Mac cmd-Z - which should be reserved to 'undo' globally - opens the 'find'-dialogue (latest Macos, latest V10)
So backspace doesn't work on a mac to undo the automatic list?

I do remember that whatever OS you use this automatic formatting could be removed by using 'undo' (in my case Ctrl+Z) whenever it intruded...
or just backspace

If I remember correctly, EN told us that syntax highlighting will be supported in code blocks, maybe it's flexible enough for your use case?

At least Evernote is consistent here in v10. Change=change. But it also hinders my GTD/TSW workflow a bit, but I changed my workflow so that hinders less significant. 😄 I really had to get used to this phenomenon when switching from Legacy to v10.
hmm, even reading encrypted text changes the update time 🙄

Thank you @eric99. Possibly, it has to do with my scaling of the screen (due to eyesight issues). I use 150%, the Windows recommendation for scaling. Or with the screen size.
I suspect that you don't need that and are on 100%, or use a larger screen. Is that correct?
I came to this conclusion when I saw on my laptop that the drop down list can cut an entry in half.
Again, not a big issue as per the response by @Boot17.
What it is though, is sloppy programming. On Windows this problem can be (and most other software does that) prevented easily, by allowing scrolling of the list.
Referring to another thread in which "agile development" was used to describe the development style of EN by @PinkElephant: this is not "agile", it is "quick and dirty".
Unfortunately, many developers these days perceive agile as a way to rush development without proper planning or testing, leading to buggy software.

Hi all,
I got V10.81.4. installed (the one that lets us hide the Slash / Command reminder).
I was going to get into this Slash command when I noticed this:
If I don't use it but the "+" menu, I see this
All entries on the drop-down. Now, this is what I see using the slash command
Please note that the last entry is Audio. And I cannot scroll down, neither with the mouse nor with the keyboard below that, so no code block etc.
If I am further down in a note then I get this:
which is now the lower part of the drop down and there is no way to scroll up in it, so Task (=Aufgabe) is not available.
Does anyone see the same issue?
Thanks.
No, I don't see this on my windows client, I consistently receive the entire list regardless of the cursor position in the note

Hi all -
The following text, which I included in my ticket to Evernote support, describes what I am seeing. Have any of you experienced this?
Hello,I'm experiencing an issue with accessing encrypted text in Evernote, both on the web and Windows versions. When I try to access encrypted text, a blue popup appears. If the popup is on-screen, I know I need to close it before I can do anything else in Evernote.
The problem arises when I have multiple encrypted text scattered throughout long notes. If I click on encrypted text that's further down in the note, the blue popup appears next to an encrypted text block higher up in the note. As a result, the popup is off-screen, and I'm unable to click the X to close it. This forces me to terminate the app and restart it.
To resolve this issue, we need to either disable the blue popup or ensure that it appears next to the encrypted text I clicked on. Can you assist with this?
Thank you.
Wondering if anyone else is seeing this, and if anyone knows of a work-around.
Thanks!

Hello!
For the last day or two I have been noticing some lag when I scroll longer notes. Nothing too long but, for example, I am scrolling a plain text note now that has about 2500 words in it. As I scroll down the note the screen is blank and it takes anywhere from 1-3 seconds for the text to load. This is a note I have looked at a half dozen times in the last few months so it's definitely converted to RTE by now....
On my Windows client, I conducted a test with a note containing 198,000 words (1,160,364 characters). Anywhere in the text, scrolling was very responsive, comparable to that of a shorter note. However, it’s important to mention that initial loading such an extensive note took 16 seconds.
edit: tested on a 8 year old pc upgraded to 16 GB ram and 1TB SSD

@Federico Simionato In the dark theme, the notebookname and title at the very top of the screen are almost unreadable now due to extremely low contrast. It appears that font color improvements made in the light theme are badly impacting the color in the dark theme. I hope the dark theme is not automatically derived from the light one...

I had a number of pictures and documents stored in my trash but last week they suddenly disappeared. I use the free version of Evernote (and have been happy with it) but please tell me there is a way to recover my trash. Thank you.
Maybe you emptied it yourself to get below the 50 notes treshold ? You can try to recover from your ENEX or html backups

I can't reproduce this, I still have 15 notes in the latest windows version 10.76.2 ...
Maybe your zoomlevel has been changed?

Most apps when introducing a new color scheme will leave the prior one as an option.
yes, especially if the previous scheme was proven and well accepted by the community!

I believe I just found the most anti-productive element in the new UI. In notes, as part of the program to eliminate contrast, divider lines are now practically invisible. I think they may be thinner, and their color is now almost indistinguishable from the background (of course this clip appears much larger than it does in Evernote):
Of course, the purpose of a divider line is to mark off one section of a note from another. If the divider line is invisible, it doesn't mark anything. Frankly, this change feels almost aggressively hostile to users, as if intended to cause them discomfort and frustration. For comparison, here's the same thing in the old UI; I think the difference is obvious:
"... Evernote's updated user interface includes a beautiful and simplified design, enhanced readability, and a rejuvenated visual identity with a modern color palette and vibrant patterns..." ??? https://evernote.com/blog/new-ui-2024

Oh no...what a worse update.
I am using Evernote in darkmode and the background in notes is now black instead of grey which was so much easier to read and much more eye friendly. So I am using a note taking app that makes it harder to read my notes...annoying.
Also the lines seperating spaces are thiner now which makes it look like one huge display. I miss the clear and bold seperation for each area.
And why are links in purple now? They were green before which I always liked because it is the evernote colour.
I am a paying customer for years, almost a decade. But if they keep this design (which I think they will) I will cancel my premium and switch to another app. Lucky I am on the monthly plan so I can leave anytime without wasting money.
I agree about the dark theme. When I use Evernote for extended periods of time, I find myself adjusting my monitor's contrast settings due to the pure black background. The side notes list also has a problem: the selected note is difficult to distinguish due to the extremely low contrast and also because there is no selection border. Additionally, the note list font looks blurry, which could be an anti-aliasing problem. Strangely enough, the note list font size has also been reduced, despite being one line of text in the table row.
Although we can criticize the previous Evernote developers on several aspects, their GUI design was very ergonomic. It remains a mystery to me why current developers replaced the existing proven themes instead of simply adding two new ones (for whatever obscure marketing reason).

It would have to be a hidden feature to get not in trouble with all those customers who want more (like me) and|or do not understand how (like appr. >99%)
Necessary effort to restrict it to only these harmless settings and at the the end explain and support such a feature for all platforms (Android, Windows, Mac, Windows, iPhone, ...) is a bad invest for the moment. They should concentrate on quality, speed and features - not nice looking.
For some users it's not about 'looking nice', it's about being able to use it or not

This is the first wish of developers who (might) know what they're doing. But it's a nightmare for support if every user tries to adjust stylesheets. I for myself would change font sizes (easy) but do experiments with many other properties (section spaces, table outfit, image placement, ...). Before offering editable stylesheets they will stay with controlled settings for a long time. It's OK for me...
23 minutes ago, janndk said:Just to be able to change that terrible background, and maybe adjust text contrast a little bit, would help a lot.
Yes, just a reduced stylesheet for font type, size and color settings, harmless.

Scanning to Evernote with v.10
in Evernote General Discussions
Posted
yes, it allows you to scan directly into an import folder if you want, although I don't use that myself (I add a meaningful title first and save it to the default folder, an evernote import folder). It is a very powerful tool with OCR, PDF encryption, PDF manipulations...)
