  1. Not nearly as much as some people here who seem almost obsessive in defense of EN. 😁
  2. Uh... forums are very much a type of social media. Huh?! That's a rather bizarre characterization. Most of the criticisms I've read here point out specific issues users have with the program and the way they are being treated by the vendor. You seem to be complaining about people complaining. Perhaps you're new to forums I don't know, but this is perhaps the most natural place to vent. A community of users with similar grudges sharing their experiences with a software program that many have used for years and now objecting, publicly, about the direction the app is taking. Send comments directly to EN? I doubt very much they really care or would even recognize such grievances given what I've seen over the years, but of course anyone is free to give it a try. For the users that continue to love and use EN, fine with me! For those who have issues, keep the comments, positive and negative coming. Current and potential future users might well benefit.
  3. Based on the history I've observed, I picture any grievances they receive will end up in a corporate circular file.
  4. Not able to test it at this time but if I'm not mistaken, there is no way to do any kind of bulk export from EN and include the contents of all encrypted notes? That's a big issue with me given all the notes, the the most "sensitive" ones, that I have encrypted. Seems the only route in that case is to "Reveal" each note, note by note and copy/paste. (?) Very tedious...
  5. Hmmm... how did you get the data from EN to ON? I've seen some apps that claim to do that but I'm just cutting/pasting myself. Laborious to be sure but helps to do a lot of house cleaning along the way. I've not heard of NoteJoy but will take a look. My primary concern with some of these alternative note apps is their overall stability. IOW, will it be around years from now? I've been bitten in the past investing time & effort into apps that just went away. I'm assuming that Microsoft will be around for the long run, but even there, some huge companies (Microsoft, Google etc.) have been know to abandon apps as well. I've even toyed with the idea of using Excel, or creating my own note system with something like MSAccess. Nah... way too much effort. 👎
  6. Fortunately for the sake of participants here, I've not posted numerous EN rants I've launched into in the comfort of my own office. 🙂 Like some others here I too have reached my limit of patience with EN and, as painful as it is, have started migrating around 1k notes from DN to [GASP] Microsoft OneNote. I looked at numerous other apps from MyInfo, to InfoSelect (both of which I used at one time) to name a few. But in the end given that a number of features of OneNote have a particular use for my own circumstances, I bit the proverbial bullet. Also, a significant amount of data I have in EN is outdated and of little to no use presently. The migration offers me the opportunity to cull out all the "*****" and start fresh. But... check with me in a year or so to see I've started any rants with respect to OneNote! 😁
  7. I understand completely. Think of it this way... you have a job you've worked at for a number of years. Over that time you've put forth considerable effort to get where you are today only to decide that new policies of your employer no longer mesh with what you envisioned when you signed on. You make it clear publicly precisely why you're leaving. First to let others know what they might be facing and second-- and less likely-- in the hopes that the employer will recognize what might well be numerous similar complains and institute some changes. Not unlike why people leave negative reviews for products purchased online-- to let others know and take that info into account and if the seller is responsive, perhaps help them address issues or respond with their side of the story.
  8. I'm sorry-- it's BROKEN. It used to work, it doesn't work now, by definition that's broken. Just install the legacy version? Yeah, right. Been trying to do that for an hour. Keep getting message along the lines of "Cannot connect to server. Try again later". So maybe I can just use the online version. Nope, 'fraid not. They graciously "Updated" that to with the same idiotic interface. Perhaps the most irritating and downright offensive of all is the fact that NO ONE from EN has made any effort to at least discuss an issue that has so many users upset. It will take me a long time to get everything out of EN into a more capable system, but that's what I'm working on.
  9. Ok, let me see if I understand this... Users for the most part, including myself, are almost universally disgusted with the inability to edit encrypted text. I just had to change the password on an account and discovered this for the first time. Unbelievable. Equally appalling is the total SILENCE from EN in response to the input here. HOWEVER, when I opened the app today EN gleefully notified me that they have: We brought back one of your most requested features! Drag-and-drop a note into Gmail or Outlook to insert a link to that note in an email. Uh, seriously??? Have you no shame?! Drag & drop into email is one of the most requested features?? Do you even read this support forum?? I'm left to wonder just what the "developers" are thinking. My guess is that they don't actually USE the program as it's inconceivable that if they did, this new "feature" would ever have made it into the program. As a paid user I put off upgrading for years with the "if it ain't broke" mentality. My needs are pretty basic, nothing fancy, just store and retrieve notes. Used to use InfoSelect but switched to EN years ago. But in a misguided fit of optimism, I recently fell into the deep, dark upgrade pit of despair and went for it. Should have known better. What's worse, I typically keep old versions but this time had deleted many old updates from my download folder. Earliest version I still have is Evernote_6.5.4.4720. Might try to install that, but at the same time, wary of what kind of new mess that might cause. Put me down as a former, long time user who is just fed up with this nonsense and is starting to look at viable alternatives to what used to be a useful program.
