I have this problem also. It used to work fine. I would say I have had the problem on all my evernote applications for about 2-3 months. There have been a few updates since the problem started. I have a very long note that I use Ctrl F to search everyday. The window will show the number of times the word/phrase is in the note, but will not advance. Now that I think about it, the note I search in most often is a table, but again, the search shortcut used to work fine.

Thank you for this post. I knew it was not my imagination and there is no reason other than something in Evernote that could be causing the problem. I thought surely I would find a setting, but have looked everywhere I know to look. I know I can edit it each time it happens, but I use A LOT of ... in my journal to separate rambling thoughts.

I still have the problem but I’m sure it is just me. Thank you all for your help.

Thank you to those who replied. It is definitely creating a link (underlines in blue and when I click on it, it tries to go to a web page.) I guess I will need to use dashes. I just hate it when evernote "fixes" things that are not broken.

I have never posted to this forum, and maybe I should have asked this somewhere else, but someone can direct me if needed. For years I have used ellipses in my journals to separate thoughts or the passage of time between thoughts and suddenly my three dots... are being turned into links. This is very frustrating. Is there a way to stop it? If I want to add a link (which I seldom do) I can just insert it. I'm just journaling here, not doing lots of business and sharing.

I have no trust in the automatic sync. Since the update my devices are not syncing and multiple notes are being created. This hasn't happened in a long time. In the South we say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Evernote was great before this latest update. I feel like my many notes, most of which are journal entries that mean a lot to me, are at great risk. I don't need more anxiety in 2020.

This is something that is very important to me as well. I was sorry to see that this request goes back years. I think it is a pretty small thing for premium members to ask.
