Didn't read the entire thread, but in Photos (the scenario that I'm mostly interested in), right click on the picture and choose "Edit With..."

How do I make it as an option in System Preferences?

OK, I think I understand the model. The tasks already live in a note. So I can have different task lists.

Thanks for your prompt reply...not sure why I never noticed the blue + sign before. So, i see how i can change a line item in the note to a task, but not the entire note itself. I like the concept of a task on my task list with explanatory notes. Am I thinking about it wrong?

When I'm in a note, I'd like to hit the triple dot menu and add the note to my task list.

When I want to send multiple photos from Photos into Evernote, I create the selection (repeatedly hitting Command-click) then on the sharing icon, I'll select "Save to Evernote". Evernote creates the note, but all the pictures are in random order. Contrast this with Word (e.g.) where it preserves the order of selection.
