  1. Some of the names that appear in my contact list are no longer current. Is there any way to purge these?
  2. When Work Chat was first introduced I was flat out against it because it just seemed like yet another iMessage or Skype message chat system and with Evernote notes or folders added. More so, I really hated the way that became the only way to share folders -- I still pretty much dislike that. However, what we all really need is comments on notes -- especially in Evernote for Business. I have tried Evernote for Business a few times and really feel that it needs a a note-based (not a general Work Chat) interface so that the company members of a given notebook can leave comments about individual notes. Yes there are workarounds as suggested above -- double lines and all that -- but they are hopelessly tiresome and really powerless in group situations. There needs to be an interface to comment on notes in a multiuser environment. I currently use Azendoo for really the simple capability of taking Evernote notes and being able to comment on them, and see an activity stream of those comments. It's like my own Facebook of my own company Evernote notes on a topic. Why on earth does this have to happen with an external product like Azendoo? (No disrespect to them -- they have done a great job). But why can't this be an internal feature of Evernote. What's more is that Azendoo doesn't work offline whereas Evernote does. Even more so I have highlighted text in so many notes. Why can't I search for only notes that contain highlights, or better yet be able to comment on those highlights themselves? I have been with Evernote since it's founding in 2008 I continue to be committed to it's great note capturing capabilities. I have lots and lots of data in the notebooks. But now I really believe it's time to advance the note beyond the simply shared note to the actionable, commented upon, business building block note flows streams.
  3. Yes, I second that. There should be a reminders button on the home. That would make tasks so much easier.
  4. I badly need comments on a note by note basis. I only use Work Chat when sharing folders and then really can't see the usefulness of Work Chat after that since since that chat stream doesn't affix itself to have a link to a given note. Perhaps Work Chat can evolve to a note granularity - that would be fantastic. Something like a button that one presses to see all the work chats related to a given note -- or perhaps a pane on the right side of the note.
  5. Yes we all badly need this. Many other products offer this and real time collaborative notes would be great.
  6. The most limiting frustration I have with Evernote is that my collaborators (those I share notebooks with) are not able to add any tags. I sort of understand the logic of this and why Evernote has limited this -- owners of notes and notebooks dictate what tags should be there, perhaps. And in Evernote for Business, all the company users there can add new tags. However, I am certain that I am not the minority -- millions of us use Evernote as freelance consultants and collaborate with other consultants or contractors -- and they are not part of the same company and they need to add certain tags to help us all organize. Is there any way to handle this situation?
  7. I solved this problem effectively by just downloading Evernote 5.5 and re-syncing there. Evernote has worked flawlessly for me in that version. The newer versions are essentially flawed sync-wise and it is no use trying all these suggested "fixes" above -- fix at the core and download 5.5: http://evernote.en.uptodown.com/mac/download/59717 If Evernote eventually decides to address this problem, great, but meanwhile I am not upgrading from this version.
  8. I have exactly the same issue. I was on tech support chat and they are aware of this. They had me submit an activity log and are apparently analyzing. This issue was a problem for me with video files -- but it seems any large file. Hopefully they come up with a fix. This was never an issue in version 5.5 or previous. 5.6 introduced the problem with syncing, from my experience. This is a really strange workaround I discovered. Don't even try deleting the note from the app - same sync error persists even after you delete the note, even after you empty the trash. Solution (and ridiculous one) is to go to Evernote.com and delete the problem note there. Then create a new note and paste the attachment to the website. Then wait a few minutes and come back to the app to sync. Simple! (sarcasm included).
  9. I am willing to guess you're using an older version of Pages (pre 5.0) - or an old file format (you can still export to Pages '09). Still not possible to achieve this with the new Pages format. No-- I am using the latest version of iWork and the latest OSX for that matter. It hasn't been possible since the the 5.0 version but I am reporting that with Evernote 5.6 beta 1 you can now use the Evernote preview and inline view of Pages 5.2 documents - but not yet with Keynote 6.2 or Numbers 3.2. That's all very fine, but I - using the exact same versions - am reporting that you cannot attach a Pages document and use quick view or view the document inline. I have tried importing/attaching a Pages 5.2 document into an Evernote (5.6.0 PB 1) note in any thinkable way to absolutely no avail. Still shows up with the .zip attachment, it only works if I use the older '09 format or convert it into .docx. Apologies but I realized that the document I was trying this with was an older document that hadn't been upgraded to the new format. I guess just wishful thinking...

  11. LOVE the Mac Pages integration -- now you can view Pages with the Evernote view or expand an iWork Pages document to view inline. Seems that the zip file issue with the new iWork Pages format has been licked. Not there yet with Keynote or Numbers but I suspect you guys are hard at work with that.
  12. In 5.5 when creating a new note with the keyboard shortcut (^⌘⇧N) only the new note window shows up (that is if Evernote is note open but running in the background). Now what happens is that the Evernote note app shows up and then the note window comes up in front of it. I then have to close the Evernote app window. Preferred the single note since it make everything less cluttered.
  13. yes please provide an Evernote update version - I really need that! (Also aware that the new iWork format is so new that every app maker is scrambling). By the way -- this may be good info for the developers: If an old iWork format file is already in Evernote, it opens up in the new format and saves in the new format, just like before. Even if you export that file and open it in the new iWork format (tried this with Pages) and then copy it back to a whole new Evernote note, it works (not a .zip). But if I create a whole new Pages file then I get a .zip file. Seems to be a format recognition thing but the capability seems there.
  14. Just a couple of suggestions to make note viewing easier. In Card View mode: Would like to see the title of the card more easily. I have to switch to Side List View to see the note titles more easily, but I then miss the graphical elements. Perhaps a way to change the font of the title and/or wrap all of the title text. In Notebook view, I really would like to zoom the size of the notebooks to my liking.
  15. It would be great to have the reminder button in the quick entry menu bar icon note. I could just type a note and then classify it as a reminder right away, rather than having to search for the imported note in my inbox and then searching for the notes that I want to add reminders to.
  16. It would be great to be able to search for notes in the toolbar. Currently I am able to search and also save searches with the following type of syntax: * Reminders due today: reminderTime:day -reminderTime:day+1 * Reminders due tomorrow: reminderTime:day+1 -reminderTime:day+2 But it only search the notes that have a date assigned. What if I have a note with a reminder but with no date? How do I search for that?
  17. I just think a convenience button would be helpful. For instance I have all my notes and clippings land on my Inbox. I want to give them the appropriate tags, and then 90% of the time they go into my Archive folder, unless they go into a project-specific folder. Much of the Evernote for Mac toolbar is empty and while I love that clean look, it would be great to a have a button that allows me to select a folder (in my case Archive) where my notes will be automatically moved towards just by clicking. Yes I know I have drag and drop or quickly select the drop down list on each note. But nothing can beat the speed of clicking on this button. If I get trigger happy -- no problem, I just look in the Archive folder and correct the error.
