I dont like seeing unread notifications as it makes me think that I forgot to do something. I just downloaded this software after switching from onenote because that too had annoying "what's new" messages that required mouse clicks to dismiss. This is more acceptable but why not let us hide it all together? Tool tips and other acts of unsolicited forms of communication by developers are generally annoyances to me, and I'm sure to others as well.
