Thanks for the tips! But what about the original question?

[SOLVED] Can't be done.
Is there a way to do it? I'm hunting down pointlessly large PNG files within my notes. I can find all notes containing PNG files using the
resource:image/png
search and nicely sort the results by size but once I open a note I'm looking at a wall of images.
The situation also proves "I'll grab it quickly with Firefox scrrenshot feature and convert it to jpg later" to be a bad idea. One more thing. I've noticed that Created Date and Updated Date are editable. This is awesome! Cleaning up old notes won't make them flood the tops of my "Updated date" sorted notebooks!

It's interesting (?!?) -- I've had mixed experiences with the latest beta. Sometimes opening a note is right away, sometimes there's a very noticeable delay. Keep on it, Everfolks!
I rolled back to 8.9 to get rid of the issue. Two days without it, then, today, it's happening again, even on that 8.9!

Just send you another post in another thread.
If your subscription status is as it shows (BASIC = not paying), you are on a free ride, and this is it. If you get support, depends on the company policy of EN, and the rest on us users who are in the forum.
You're just repeating what I knew all along. The web page *does* *not* provide a *clear information* on support access. Period. It's a usability issue, nothing else.

Yes, it is there - but for paying users only ! Since you are on a free ride, EN restricts the access to company resources like support. If this is good marketing is another question ...
I've already send you the address https://twitter.com/evernotehelps in another thread. You may try it there.
This is a guess. Not an information. It would have been an information only if e-mail support was the only support channel in existence as far as software products are concerned.

I agree it could be easier to find.
But going to the forum at least must do you some good 😉
And basically EN lives of their paying users. So they focus their effort (including support) there. If this is good marketing is another question.
Do they engage in a covert money-making? If I need a premium account to support a support ticket then %#$ say so! Again, poor webpage design.

I'm on 8.11 beta 1 and I agree - generating a log takes me to a share menu and I can select Evernote to generate a note, or email to generate an email without a 'to' address. The option is to generate a log to send to Evernote, but users need a destination address...
Work around (I guess) would be to share the log to Evernote and then request support, copying the share URL of the note containing the log into the support request...?
This is all grand but what e-mail address should I use?
The option to submit a ticket is not available in 8.9 either.

That's good news. I hope they come up with a fix soon. This is ridiculous. This latest version of the app is the buggiest I've seen in the last few years. I don't know how 8.10 made it past quality control.
Read my previous comment. The first Q&A guy hasn't started yet ;D

Support is open for all paying users.
With a Basic account, you can try this:

There's no such information on the website. Nor in the app. That's a poor design if you ask me.

It used to be that generating a log in-app somehow initiated a support ticket submission process. Now I only get an option to.

On an odd note, this problem does not occur on another phone of mine, namely Huawei P10 lite

You're posting in a user discussion forum.
Have you opened a support ticket?
I think the first Q&A guy who starts next Monday is going to do it
EDIT:
I don't think I can anymore. Neither the Support website nor the Android app offer a "Submit ticket" option or anything similar.

Same here. 8.10 non beta, android 7.2, Moto X Play XT 1562
The app starts more or less as usual but every single note takes 15-20 seconds to show up! For me it started not earlier than YESTERDAY.
Right after the search hiatus. Simply astonishing! I'll tell you what. You're going straight the Windows Phone route. I'd let your employers sit on a new release for a month, and then the CEO for a week before even thinking about pushing a new release to the store.
Edit:
Going back as little as to 8.9.1 seems to be doing the trick. -

I wish OneNote was already mature enough that I could migrate to it, this is going to happen, It's only a matter of time. Will Evernote remain attractive after OneNote matures? We will see.
OneNote for mobile devices has less features than contemporary SMS apps!
On Evernote search - it's working for me now, 8.9.1, may update.

Release Notes for Version 6.18 ... Fixed: ... - Files you drag into Evernote will now stay where you put them. Seems obvious, right? We thought so too.

Hi there
My search feature of evernote has stopped working on both of my samsung android phones-samsung S7 edge and Samsung note 9. The search just hangs in an endless loop. Does anyone else have this issue?
Judy
Yes. Everyone Here's a dirty workaround and your only option:
https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/119365-search-not-working/?do=findComment&comment=536738Don't waste your time with "proper troubleshooting". Re-installing the app from Play Store, clearing cache and what not - it simply won't work.

I tried using Evernote in Firefox on my Android phone. Apparently Evernote blocks that. Why?
It's not about blocking per se. Evernote Web is not intended for mobile web browsers.

The solution suggested earlier in this thread worked for me:
Android app -> Settings -> Search and Storage -> clear local search history & clear cache.
However, the next day, the problem returned. Ran the same fix and search worked again.
Are others experiencing the same thing? Are you having to run the fix every time you you restart the phone? Or does it have to do with every time the app syncs? Trying to identift the variables here.
It didn't work at all in my case. You can find all the details in the topic I started

How can Evernote not fix this hours after it's discovered? This sort of problem is so fundamental, they should do a code rollback to the previous version. In the meantime they're releasing dark mode improvements?!
Evernote: why?!
Because someone is trying hard to be the next big "£+ck core features" fireball after Windows Phone

I've noticed that another build of 8.9 has been released. Dated April 15th. Could anyone confirm whether this issue is still present?
-
The problem with the search has nothing to do with any other platform. It's Android specific. So you may stop "cross-checking" it elsewhere. If Evernote support insists on you doing it anyway they are wasting your time.

Generally things might be changing for the better - have a look at @ObviousBob's thread here...
We shall see. The past year was a freaking Windows Phone dejavu with constant problems with core features. I'll believe it when I see at least a glimpse of the promises materializing. Especially that the search hiatus might have been adressed by what is almost a "do nothing", i.e. by rolling back or not rolling out 8.9 for some users for whatever reason.
I've just downgraded to 8.8 from my girlfriend's phone and the search works fine.

[solved] Highlight files of certain type within a note
in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Posted
I stated the reason in the OP. I've got notes with ~4 simple images taking 20 MB. A handful of *needlessly* large notes take the majority of space.
