...smaller note sizes,  lower monthly upload limits,  no email access and a two-device limit?

For me, I upload maybe 10-20 mb a month. My notes are either text or a couple of pdf’s or screenshots. I use Evernote on my Mac and iPhone.

I emailed 2 notes to myself in 2022, one in 2021, one in 2019.

I can manage without an almost double price increase.

  2. I’m not.
But I totally see and understand why people might.
For me however, Evernote is note taking and archiving. I don’t have anyone to “share” with so collab is useless for me, I don’t need calendar integration, I have another (better) solution for tasks, and writing text notes and saving a couple of pdf’s and images bee month doesn’t even get me close to the Free 60mb upload limit.

So I’ll stick with Free and hopefully Evernote comes around and decides to offer something in-between Free and expensive Personal. Otherwise Joplin looks like a fair open source alternative.

  3. Evernote user since 2008 and paying since it was introduced.

    That ends now.

The new price they quote me is even higher than that new customers are getting. They write $130 which is 902 DKK. But new customers get in at 759 DKK ($109) according to the website.

  4. Not monitoring the forums to some degree seems weirdly out of touch with your customers. I don't think that's the case, even if they don't actively participate. Unless they've become a company that's outsourcing customer support overseas and no longer have anybody that takes pride and responsibility in the product/service that they provide. It happens. But let's hope not.

Thanks for sharing your strategy. It shouldn't be necessary to "game" a marketing campaign just to avoid getting it. But I guess it's a workaround.

  5. Been a paid user since 2008 and these promo popups annoys the heck out of me as well.

I could accept it maybe once, regardless if I have opt-in to marketing or not, but how it came sooo many times was really annoying.

Yes, this might be a user-to-user forum (but I'm sure somebody at Evernote is reading here (or at least they should!), and in the old days they also replied), but even so, I think it's fine to warn potential new paying customers that even though they pay, they should be prepared for regular discount/upgrade offers during promotions...

After the first few times I started wondering if they are running out of money or something since they so aggressively push upgrades on already paying customers, and actually made me consider finding an alternative before they shut down. I hope it's just some overly ambitious marketing-person trying to make their quarterly bonus that's the reason behind the pushy promotions, and not because the company is in a bad shape financially.

  6. Been paying for Premium since june 2008, and now I have to write my notes in notepad before I paste them into Evernote 🙄 , cause it's so confusing to have a whole block of text with squiggly red lines below 90% of the words 🤣

They do have international websites, but I wonder how the danish customers ending up at the danish website, will feel when all they danish words are red-underlined..  https://evernote.com/intl/da/premium
