  1. I’ve been using Evernote for 15 years. I think it’s pretty crappy to increase the subscription price by nearly 100% in one jump, especially after disabling the ability to back up or export notes. I liked you guys better when you relied on having a great product to retain customers. Now that you’ve made it nearly impossible for me to migrate to another app by disabling my ability to export notes, this price increase feels like a mugging.
  2. Very long time Evernote user here. I pay for the yearly subscription (grudgingly at this point, as I feel like the more “features” Evernote adds the worse the product and the performance actually gets.) My wife doesn’t use Evernote as a primary app the way I do, and so has been using the free plan for years. This change in the way the number of devices is counted wouldn’t be horrible, except for the fact that they also limit the number of times you can “unsync” your devices. We just upgraded phones, and it’s literally impossible for her to log into Evernote right now because of the device count and because we already tried to “unsync“ devices. The idea that we’re being forced into an “upgrade” is more than a little annoying. This doesn’t feel like an upsell. It feels like extortion to me.
  3. I'm really taken aback that I can't select more than 50 notes or export a backup. If anybody knows how to back up 10.4.4 on Mac, I'd love to know how. I have over 6000 notes, and it seems like in 10.4.4 there's no way for me to back it up. Just one of many HORRIBLE changes in 10.4.4: The disappearance of the sync button, the burying of checkbox formatting clear formatting, etc. in a side menu, and the disappearance of the ability to export scanned business cards to contacts... All huge steps backward. I'd like to be able to customize the left sidebar to have "all notes" above shortcuts. I have a lot of shortcuts, and I'm constantly scrolling down to get to "all notes." That's a theme with this new version: more hunting, scrolling, and searching hidden menus. Why is so much stuff buried? Why does it take two or three clicks to do what used to take one click? Evernote is supposed to be a productivity app! I'm spending more time UNdoing the automatic formatting in lists (my to-do list for example) than I am entering information. The automatic indentation in lists, and the automatic strikethrough when I hit the return key is incredibly frustrating. I'm tempted to downgrade, but if something goes wrong I haven't been able to make a back up. #Catch22 #everbetterevernote ? Seriously? #everworseevernote !
  4. Evernote has removed the ability to select more than 50 notes. I can no longer back up Evernote. This is just one of many, many bad design decisions in the most recent version. For years I've backed-up Evernote by selecting all the notes and exporting them to my hard drive. I have more than 6000 notes. I'm supposed to select and 50 at a time in order to back them up? Another REALLY bad decision by the design team. Here are some others. For example, the disappearance of the sync button, the burying of checkbox formatting clear formatting, etc. in a side menu, and the disappearance of the ability to export scanned business cards to contacts (to be fair, this happened a while ago)... All huge steps backward. My take on the theme of 10.4.4: more hunting, scrolling, and searching hidden menus. I downgraded to the "legacy" version for Mac 7.14.1 and I feel a tremendous sense of relief. I pray that Evernote listens to this feedback from all of us and modifies the boondoggle that is 10.4.4. Another online commenter, put it best: They said this didn't feel like a new version of Evernote. They said it feels like a whole new (strange) app that has suddenly been given access to our Evernote data. Horrible. #everbetterevernote ? Seriously? #everworseevernote !
  5. Where is this feature now, or is it gone? Why has no-one from Evernote replied to this thread. Why does the Evernote team seem hell-bent on complicating the app to the point of breaking it?
  6. BUSINESS CARD SCANNING I can no longer find a way to export "scanned" business cards from Evernote to my contacts. This used to be possible. Is it still possible? Is there a way to export "scanned" (photographed and ocr'd in Evernote) business cards to my contacts in iOS? If not, this is a huge loss, and makes entering business cards into Evernote all but pointless. Evernote is not, and will never be the primary way I manage contacts.
