Is note history a paid subscription tool? I couldn't find it following the instructions that @gazumped listed, however when I looked around I did find it under the toolbar but it is grayed out. Now I am left wondering if I pay for a subscription if I will be able to dial it back to a previous save or will that option be lost to me since I had not previously been a subscriber?

I have been using Evernote for 10 years now and through that time I have always had a password protected note where I kept some personal information. Today I tried to access that note and it no longer has the security protection applied to it and all of the information the note contained is gone. Currently it is now an unprotected note that only contains the letter "D". Is there some way to bring back an older version of this note so I can salvage what I had in there?
