  1. For those faced with this issue, which, for me personally, weeks later persists, when can we expect a resolution to this issue?
  2. Thank you for your prompt response and confirmation that this issue is currently being addressed, PinkElephant. You can add my report to your existing forum thread.
  3. I'm using a Google Chrome-based web browser to run the latest version of the Evernote software application on my M1 Ultra Mac Studio ( MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1 (23B81)). Recently, I had and continue to have issues with the listings that appear in the left area of the application. The list of my notebooks has been arbitrarily truncated and, therefore, inaccessible. I've tried different browsers with the same result. I've also tried refreshing, which did not correct the issue. Additionally, I resized the browser window. That did not make the complete list of my notebooks reappear. This issue is not consistent. Some days, my complete notebook list is present as I scroll to access specific ones. Other days, commonly occurring in the lower portions of the notebook list, those notebooks are not shown. Could this possibly be a bug or perhaps connected to ongoing software development? I'm curious if anyone else might have a similar issue with similar hardware and software specifications. I did discover a workaround that allows me to access my complete notebook list (simply by clicking on the word NOTEBOOKS at the top of my left scroll bar area), which opens up a listing of all of my notebooks.
  4. After just a few hours of using Evernote's web app (accessing it within the Web3-based Brave Browser, which is a Google Chrome-based web browser - Version 1.47.186 Chromium: 109.0.5414.119 (Official Build) (arm64)), I'm encountering the same issues that are present in Evernote's desktop application. In addition, jpg images as small as 200 kb (when they occasionally do appear in PREVIEW mode) take minutes to appear. Overall, I'm encountering the same behaviors. Being that I'm an artist, the vast majority of my notes are comprised of images. I look forward to Evernote's tech support team resolving this issue ASAP.
  5. Thanks for your feedback, Mike P. It's always helpful to hear from others who offer suggestions that one would not think of or consider to resolve persistent issues. I have been using Evernote's desktop application exclusively. I will use Evernote's web app and monitor if this same app behavior is exhibited within that environment. With that option, it's mindful to be aware of which web browser(s) to use and which to avoid. Depending upon the web browser of choice, that has the potential to lead to its own set of unusual or unpredictable application behaviors. The more I use software, the more I have a deep respect for developers who are constantly confronted with issues like mine. Software is a product that is in a constant state of flux due to the environments and hardware it operates within and interacts with. Software developers have a very challenging occupation; one that is unrelenting (in the issues encountered) with each iteration of any given software application. Because of my software beta-testing experiences, I still look forward to seeing a resolution to this issue and its root cause(s). In most cases, the problems that I've encountered over the years have usually been caused by a basic hardware issue, a software update, etc. thereby quickly resolving an issue that would otherwise be thought of as incapable of being solved.
  6. There have been other unexplainable instances where I've successfully pasted image files into notes (appearing in PREVIEW mode) only to have them convert to TITLE mode after leaving notes and returning to them. Then, again, accessing the drop-down menu, and attempting to change to PREVIEW mode, TITLE is the result.
  7. Another abnormal image file behavior that I've encountered (just within the Evernote environment) is an inconsistent copy & paste procedure between two different notes (within the same notebook & between notes in different notebooks). When using the menu-based copy & paste method to duplicate an image file (that clearly appears in preview mode) from one note to another, the image file (when pasted into the receiving note) only appears as a TITLE. Even when accessing the drop-down menu, no matter which option is selected (TITLE or PREVIEW) TITLE is the only outcome or result.

  9. REPORT FROM: Jonathan P.: Hi Steve, I have an update. I have gone ahead and filed a report with our development team. They will begin to investigate the root cause of this issue and get started on a fix for this. I don't have a specific timeframe, however, for when this issue will be resolved. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Sincerely, Jonathan P. Technical Support
  10. Thank you for your reply, PinkElephant. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/3580573 This was reported to Evernote Technical Support approximately 4 months ago. This persistent issue was not authorized nor indicated by me as resolved. I requested that this case be re-opened. In the meantime, I'm looking for any feedback that might lead me to a resolution.
  11. Persistent Issue (Unresolved despite countless discussions with Tech Support ) After CUT & PASTE procedure(s) - image(s) ALWAYS & ONLY appear(s) as title(s). The drop-down menu (with the options: 'TITLE' & 'PREVIEW') performs the same action (result) - 'TITLE'. Please respond with a confirmation that my issue has been identified as a problem with other (M1) MAC-based end-users and if this issue is currently being worked on and what your timeframe is in getting this resolved.
  12. Thank you for your response. Knowing what questions Support might ask beforehand, assuming one question related to both versions would most likely be one of those initial questions, I've now firmly established that my issues are clearly exhibited in both Evernote versions. I'll now submit these issues to the Evernote support team for further diagnosis and possible explanation and/or resolution.
  13. FIRST DAY OF USING THE WEB-BASED VERSION OF EVERNOTE: All of the issues experienced while using Evernote Desktop For Mac have occurred in the web-based version. Just to reiterate, those issues include: ▶︎ JPEG & PNG image files (typically around 100 kb in size) copied & pasted and/or dragged & dropped into a note displaying as attachments. ▶︎ Drop-down image menu items not displaying all of the available options (in particular, ‘Image’ & ‘attachment’ options). It’s important to emphasize that these quirky behaviors are undoubtedly inconsistent, making it even more challenging to diagnose and resolve. It should also be noted here that the majority of images integrated into most of my notes are typically obtained from the web and email messages and are most definitely well under 1 megabyte in file size.
  14. Thank you for your suggestion. I'll use the web-based version of Evernote for a while to see if these same issues that exist in the desktop version are present in the web-based version. If the web-based Evernote does not exhibit those issues, it still doesn't explain why the desktop version would exhibit those behaviors.
  15. Another quirk (that I discovered that is not always consistent) that affects how an image file is displayed is whether the image is cut & pasted into the note or dragged & dropped into the note. Why this can affect how an image is displayed within a note is not clear to me.
  16. Thank you for providing your test example(s). Very interesting. The majority of the images that I incorporate into my notes are well under your above example. And now I'm also wondering why my drop-down menu options lack some of the additional options your menus display. Can I assume that this might be categorized as a 'bug' of some sort? So now I have two issues to contend with and hopefully resolve at some point.
  17. Clearly, reasonably sized PNG & JPEG image files that Evernote currently supports are the file types that I regularly encounter that do not display as images. So, in my case, this issue is still unresolved. Perhaps someone on this forum can specify the file size limitation - the point at which a file will ultimately display as only an attachment. This will allow me to monitor image files (over time) and determine the file size cut-off point when an image file will no longer display as an image.
  18. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I just want to have each image display as an image (permanently), not as an attachment (which apparently has been selected as the default setting) however, not by me. Here's an image of my drop-down menu which does not include the 'image' option. FYI - This is a transparent background PNG image file (my 'S' logo - seen on this forum page.)
  19. Thank you for your response. Greatly appreciated. I will leave this issue here, categorizing it as unresolved and contact support.
  20. In my case, I'm finding that JPEGs & PNGs are the raster-based images not displaying as images. And I realize that I can individually open images with the Mac's preview app. I just want the aforementioned images to display permanently within each of my notes.
  21. Raster-based images placed into notes automatically convert to attachments. How do I disable this default setting?
  22. As long as I saved the entire EVERNOTE folder contents, I'm assuming that that includes all of my notes and attachments. If there's some other folder that I may have overlooked (outside of the EVERNOTE folder), please let me know.
  23. Thanks for your assistance with this. I found the "content folder" that I was looking for, however, it is now within a folder labeled "resource-cache' and is labeled "User2239014". Mystery solved.
  24. Thank you for your response. Greatly appreciated. I located the Evernote folder, but there is no database folder in that folder. Can you provide instructions on how to save the current database onto my local hard drive?
  25. SUBJECT: MAC Evernote - CONTENT Folder Location - Local Hard Drive Over the years, access to the location of the content folder (on my local MAC hard drive) typically required a menu selection in combination with a certain keyboard key. This procedure has constantly changed. With Evernote version 2020, I was able to access the content folder by holding down the (OPTION KEY) while selecting the HELP MENU, then TROUBLESHOOTING, then - OPEN DATABASE FOLDER. The TROUBLESHOOTING menu selection no longer contains the OPEN DATABASE FOLDER option. I look forward to resolving this issue ASAP. In advance, thank you for your assistance with this.
