  1. I know most people here are just users. I was just reflecting back on me typing "cross platform note taking app" into Google all those years ago and having Evernote win hands down on all fronts in terms of features etc and now, well... Admittedly, I don't have that many notes. So migrating to another platform isn't impossible. But I like it enough to keep using it and pay for it. Just want the maximum for my money's worth. Right now, if you look at it from a MB stored somewhere in the cloud per dollar, I'm getting royally ripped off. But it mostly does what I want it to do, so I stay.
  2. I understand the business decision. I don't understand how you can market your product for being cross platform only to pull the rug. I don't want to have to sift through 1000 tabs (true story, I have 1000 active tabs) in my browser to find Evernote. I want a stand alone application which I selected because it was touting itself to be cross platform. I'm moving to all Linux, so having all my notes in an application that only works in a browser is a problem for me.
  3. I've tried that. Restarted the computer, you name it. Something is stuck somewhere. Re-installed, let's see if it detects updates now. At least I see the new interface now.
  4. Thanks Jon. I was wondering why there weren't any updates given that I hadn't used my Mac in a while. Looks like something has broken. I guess I'll re-install and see how it goes.
  5. I'm trying to search one of my notebooks and I just got an error: Permissions lost You no longer have access to the <My Notebook> notebook. I checked updates, I'm on the latest version 10.59.5.
  6. This happened to me a few days ago. I thought that my text formatting disappearing a while ago was just something that I did. Now I'm trusting Evernote less and less.
  7. I submitted a ticket. Yes I heard they are working on this but it has been happening to me for literally years. From what I've seen, I'm not the only one. I can't stand it anymore. I love figuring out work arounds and hearing ways to make things work that don't quite work, (I don't have a problem with adapting) but this is just unusable. I have literally never been more angry with any application before than I am right now. Pretty irate... Totally over it.
  8. I have been editing a single note on just one device, I still get duplicate note errors. I opened a ticket and I heard they are working on it, but my patience with this app has run out. Unless they fix it by the end of the year, I'm out. I have just 100 notes. Moving to a different platform won't take long for me. The fact that I'm paying for having just 100 notes in the cloud which are mostly text documents weighing in at probably less than a 100mb total is just stupid. I don't understand how Evernote is advertised as cross platform if you can't even edit a note on just one device without problems let alone syncing across different devices. No other note taking app behaves this way. I only pay for it for the cross platform feature, which DOESN'T WORK. I don't care if Evernote is old, and this is an old structural "feature". I'm sick of excuses, rules, explanations and work arounds. I've tried them all, I've heard them all and it still doesn't work. FIX IT!
  9. If this isn't addressed within the next year, I'm out. At the very least implement a comparison feature to show what the difference between the notes is. I can't trust my notes right now. I don't want to have to remember what I edited and when. It's happening to me every day right now and I'm not editing from multiple devices! Sorry but this is the foundation of note taking and quite frankly it's pathetic. This is literally the only application that I've ever used that has done this.
  10. I noticed that Evernote now saves "continuously". Has this issue finally been solved? Has anyone experienced duplicate notes lately?
  11. Makes sense. I guess simply closing Evernote doesn't guarantee syncing issues don't creep up. I had a note pop up after 24 hours, most likely after turning on a device I turned off without the sync having been sent.
  12. Internet connection is fine. Working from home so definitely no intermittent connection issues. I did find this response from gazumped: which basically talks about the same thing you are i.e. internet connection problems. Admittedly I'm only getting duplicate notes that I edit on different devices. I've got some notes that I edit only on one device and I never get duplication issues with those notes.
