About Tony Vella

  1. Like a charm. Thank you.
  2. I have created a table which comes down right to the bottom of the note. But I still need to add more text to the chapter except that I cannot add a line below the table. I took a screen shot. If someone can help, please. Thanks in advance.
  3. This is the usual way I copy and paste (ctr+c & ctr+v) which works on everything from my Thunderbird to Word to LibreOffice, etc. Yet, for some reason, it just will not work with my copy and paste between notes in same Evernote notebook. I tried again this morning with Word open: the ctr+c works works fine; the ctr+v works in Word and in TB (an email to myself) but it simply will not paste into a second Evernote note. It's driving me nuts. Mind you, I am 73 and not the sharpest tool in the shed but copy&paste is not exactly brain surgery. Oh well, I'll keep trying. Thanks again.
  4. I am the OP of this thread and I have been thinking that perhaps I should pose my question in a more generic fashion. So here goes: Within the same notebook, how does one copy a table in one note and paste it into another note? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thank you. However, I have created a note called Vocabulary, now, how do I copy the vocab. table from chap.1 and paste it into the Vocabulary note?
  6. I am using Windows 7 Professional. By creating separate notes do you mean Vocabulary 1; Vocabulary 2; etc.?
  7. I am going through a language study for which I have created a separate page for each chapter. At the end of each lesson there is a list of new words to be leanrt which I include in a two-column list: Language-English. I created a separate page which I called Vocabulary in which I intended to include the vocabulary table of each chapter thereby making a long vocab. list all on one page. So far I have been unable to copy the vocab. table from chap.1 and paste it into the Vocabulary page. Can someone please tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance.
  8. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and old age isn't helping me much. I just cannot figure out something to do with searching. Here's my problem: I have 6 notebooks. I am working on chapter 6 of a particular notebook and I come onto a word which I need to search because I don't remember the English meaning. So I type the word in the search box and get finds in all notebooks. These are the 2 things I can't get into my head. 1. How do I tell the program to look only in the current notebook (the one I am currently using)? 2. After the search, how do I get back to the page I was working on in the first place? I thank one and all in advance for all assistance (and patience).
  9. I am using Win 7 Professional and Evernote Mousing over the boundries does not produce the desired double-headed arrow.
  10. I created a table at 66%. After filling in all the info I discovered that the table would look better at, say, 75%. Is there a way of changing the overall width of the table without creating a new one and transferring all the info from the old one into it? Thanks in advance.
  11. Using the much-appreciated assistance above, I have been able to figure out how to search. In the process I have discovered something rather strange. I have a few chapters of a Modern Greek course. From each chapter I take the "vocabulary' (some 50 new words per chapter) and accumulate them in a note called Vocabulary - sort of building my own dictionary. When I search for a word in Greek, say room (δώματιο) I only get the word in the chapter note but not in the Vocabulary note. I wonder, if Evernote accepts my Greek alphabet and finds one instance, why does it not find the second instance? Interesting! Thanks to all for you interest and patience.
  12. Please, could someone tell me how to search for a particular word in a particular notebook. It's probably very simply but it's eluding me. I search for a common word, say, "and" and the search gives me only the last instance the word was used when it is actually used some 20 times in each note. Thanks in advance for all help.
  13. I am at the very beginning of a language course and at 70 years of age my most used action is "undo". I was wondering if instead of going repeatedly to the edit menu I can just add an "undo" icon to my main toolbar? Thanks is advance for all help.
  14. When I create a table (2 columns, in my case), is there a way to tell the program to make the two columns of equal width rather than adjusting the width as I enter data? I ask the question because I notice that once the data is entered and the program has adjusted the width of the columns, there is no way I can re-adjust the width to make the columns equal. Thanks in advance.
  15. Why is it that if I create a table in an Evernote note and then try to copy it to another Evernote note in the same notebook, the table loses its format such as the width of the columns? Is this normal or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
