Well, I jumped to a conclusion. 24 hours later, and I don't have a note conflict. The note on my Android and the note on my laptop are still different with no conflict. Doing a sync on the Android (yes, Sync Now) doesn't solve the problem. I wonder what the solution will be. Oh, yeah, uninstall and reinstall.

Not a good solution, but what I have been doing for the last eight months or so is running Nimbus on the Android for things I need to enter or retrieve quickly. And since I can't get the tasks widget to load, I also have to mirror my tasks in Todoist for the mobile. Like you, I don't want to move tens of thousands of notes over, but the Android app has never been consistently reliable for any extended period of time. And this, uninstall and reinstall ***** every update got old almost a year ago. This common development platform across all devices didn't work when they launched it and it doesn't work now, coming up on 2 years. Instead of making the existing uses stable, they keep adding on new features to the house of cards.

I've reinstalled twice in the last week. Syncing is still an issue. Modified a note on the Android 36 hours ago. Modified it again about 20 hours ago. Both times I left the app running for a few hours. This morning, I opened the note on my laptop which is always running and the Android notes are still not there. Had to dump my thoughts, so sometime later today, I will get one of my daily note conflicts.

Evernote 10.40.9 has arrived - recurring tasks
dbvirago replied to agsteele's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Still have one or two of these a week. Not the same ones. I've developed a habit of checking my Completed tasks to see if one is stuck in there. If it is, it will have the correct next occurrence next to it, but show as completed. Here is the odd part. Even though it shows the correct next occurrence, if I unmark it as complete, it will show the last occurrence. This tells me that one item in a sequence of events is not taking place, between it being marked as complete and (I assume being marked as incomplete with the new date). Since recurring tasks shouldn't be showing in Completed, maybe they should skip that step. If recurring then do this, else do that. -
Note failed to update

Both of mine are on 41.5. I'm not sure when they updated, but I haven't seen the error today. -
Evernote 10.40.9 has arrived - recurring tasks
dbvirago replied to agsteele's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I think I have one of these too. I never used the widget because, without recurring tasks, it had no value. As soon as I get the new update, I add the widget with tasks. It syncs up almost immediately and everything looks fine. The next day a task shows up at the top from a year ago. I have no uncompleted tasks, but I click on it and delete it. It shows up again the next day. I look at tasks on my Windows app and it's not there. I look on the Android phone where I am running the widget and find it in the tasks list, so I delete it from there. Next day, it's back. So I look at every instance of EN on every device and check the web version (Apparently web doesn't have tasks?) The only place it exists is on the Android phone and the Android tablet, which I never use for tasks. So, this time, I change the due date to today and mark it complete. Today, it's back with the original date from last year. So this time, I change the due date to 10 years in the future. Will see if that works. Meanwhile, do you have another solution? -
Evernote 10.40.9 has arrived - recurring tasks

Agree this would be nice. Workaround when I need this is to create a note with the text and insert the task in that. -
Evernote 10.40.9 has arrived - recurring tasks

Yeah, it's only been two out of several dozen. 90% of my tasks are daily recurring. I'll keep an eye on it. -
Evernote 10.40.9 has arrived - recurring tasks
dbvirago replied to agsteele's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Has anyone had a problem with recurring tasks, not recurring? I had one the first day, but assumed user error. But it happened again today. A daily recurring task wasn't there. So I looked through the completed tasks and it was there like any other. Task was striked out, but it showed the correct next occurrence, it just wasn't in my list. -
I keep trying to get rid of Office, but every time I do, these two scary looking guys in black suits and Ray-Bans start following me around everywhere I go.

I could live with the 50 note limit and get rid of Legacy if they would fix the Export Notebook as PDF which they released broken a year ago. It would take a bit to create a good backup, but most of my notebooks don't change. I've never liked the backup as HTML even in Legacy. I still do a single Enex backup in Legacy, but would drop that if I could create PDFs, which is the only reason I would upgrade to Pro. As it stands, thanks to their One Platform to Rule Them All philosophy, I have to use v10 and v6, along with Nimbus for mobile and quick import because the Android version just isn't reliable enough. Works most of the time doesn't cut it.

Would be nice to embed the link in the text of the task. A bit cleaner, but agree it is a real step saver. -

Starting to move tasks over now. Looks good if a bit basic. I wonder when they will change the Coming Soon banner. Wasn't this a couple of releases back? -
Still going on, pretty much every other day. I have the latest version. Yesterday, even though it is the latest version, clicking update in manage extensions solves it. Today, can't clip. To be clear, the box pops up and says, Saving your clip as normal, then switches to syncing and that never goes away until it times out much later.
-
Performance, yes, except recently clipping isn't stable. But, you still can't select more than 50 notes and export Notebook as PDF still doesn't work. So, I still need the (very nearly one year-old) beta version. AFAIK, neither of these problems have been addressed in months. My ticket from last August has still not been updated.
-
Can anyone tell me if this has been fixed? I downgraded my membership to personal as this was the only "professional" function I needed and it didn't work. They had upgraded the export function so that you could see from the preview that you weren't getting all the notes in the pdf, so that was helpful. If I selected a notebook with 100 notes and select HTML, I will get 100 web pages plus whatever folders needed. If I selected pdf, I would get some random number of pages much less than 100. As mentioned above, this was put in a trouble ticket last year, was determined to be a known issue, but never heard back from anyone. Thanks

Request: Hide private notes...
dbvirago replied to neilsneils's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I updated yesterday then heard about this feature, but couldn't find it. I double-checked that I had 10.38.1 and it still wasn't there. I went to another machine that just updated this morning and it's not there either. So, I went to the website and download and installed and now I have Located in as a filter. This is something that was seamless in v6 and another thing I have missed. Makes me not trust the automated update system. -
Another Android App Problem
dbvirago replied to dbvirago's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
"Currently Broken" Well that's unusual. I think I'm going to need to create a method to deal with data I need on the Android. EN just isn't reliable. Over the last few months, I have been able to get data quick and easy about half the time and not at all the other half. Going on a trip soon where I will need access to data quickly and surely. Possibly offline. Is Google Drive a good candidate? Sad I have to ask, but it's been 18 months, I have no confidence things won't continue to be currently broken. -
One of the long time issues with v10 Android app is that syncing isn't happening in a timely fashion. Now, every time I open the app, I can see it syncing. That's good. The problems is, I can't do anything until it's done. And it's every time whether a few minutes or a few days since I used the app. And if it's been a few days, I can plan on waiting 20-30 minutes before I can use it, which renders it useless. The (to me) easy work around is to allow the syncing to happen in the background. Ideally, if the app isn't running, but at least allow me to minimize it or use another app while syncing is happening. Now, if I see the syncing start and open another app while I am waiting, it appears to suspend the sync until I come back to it. There have been a lot of improvements with the Windows app, and if they ever fix export notebook as PDF, I am happy with it. But at not time in the last year and a half has the Android app been consistently usable for any period of time.

UI freezes until menu touched
dbvirago replied to Leo Tohill's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Another warning about this bug, and it's still there in 10.33.4 Windows. When it freezes, your clicks and keystrokes are still getting buffered. When you break out of it by clicking on the menu or system tray, everything you have done up to that point executes. So, don't just start banging on things at random.
