I'm a long time EN user and staying with the Legacy version. I have looked at many alternatives over the last couple of years with varied success. They include Onenote, Notion, Nimbus, Joplin, Standard Notes and so on. I don't have the time to list all the specifics of why each failed, other than EN legacy remains a better solution until it is discontinued. So I continue to search and plan for my departure if necessary.
One application that looks promising is Notejoy. It does not check all the boxes but appears to have feature critical mass. Their free version is definitely worth a look. Review the release notes and feature request areas to get a sense of their development history and plan.
