  1. My guess is because of the Electron end of support for the older Windows versions. I have seen similar issues with other Electron apps. https://www.electronjs.org/blog/windows-7-to-8-1-deprecation-notice
  2. Thanks for the info. It is always helpful to know what to expect and to avoid. I installed V10 without any problem and it did not remove legacy. The V10 database sync did take most of the day and the folder structure containing the files & database was fairly complex.
  3. I have a new Intel system with Windows 10 Pro, 32GB Ram & M.2 SSD's with Evernote 6.25.2 already installed. I want to install Evernote Desktop 10.48.4 and keep both versions on this PC. It is time for me to check out the latest version and see how it performs. Is there anything to watch out for when installing V10? Any configuration advice or issues from your experience when having both versions on the same PC? I do not plan on run both versions at the same time. Thank You
  4. I'm a long time EN user and staying with the Legacy version. I have looked at many alternatives over the last couple of years with varied success. They include Onenote, Notion, Nimbus, Joplin, Standard Notes and so on. I don't have the time to list all the specifics of why each failed, other than EN legacy remains a better solution until it is discontinued. So I continue to search and plan for my departure if necessary. One application that looks promising is Notejoy. It does not check all the boxes but appears to have feature critical mass. Their free version is definitely worth a look. Review the release notes and feature request areas to get a sense of their development history and plan.
  5. I thought Nimbus was a potential alternative until I discovered they had removed E2E Encryption! In addition, they do not have any encryption functionality at the notebook or note text level. So I stopped my evaluation and testing until support provides a response or adds it to their roadmap.
  6. +1 for having encryption for any Notebooks of my choosing. Let it be MY decision that search may not work for a secured Notebook. Geez, I can certainly work around that obstacle. Without this feature I will eventually have to leave you.
