Just come from legacy myself so I feel your pain. This and search and filter problems with tags are my biggest issues. Basic stuff that needs to work before bells and whistles are added

I don't really see that the issue is a separate section for tags. A separate section containing only one tag is not going to be any help either!

I would just like the search box to work on tags as it does when searching for tags in the filter. That is any tag containing your search term comes up under search suggestions.  ( maybe five lines or a scroll box)

I agree,  hence the title of this thread. "Filter and search don't work together"

I foolishly clicked on the "Save and open in Evernote" button at the top right of this public note by https://discussion.evernote.com/profile/1006561-ferol/ in link below.

As it is View only I now have this note stuck on my PC with no way to unshare move to another book or add a tag.

I use untagged notes as my inbox so it's stuck in my inbox! any Ideas on how to move it on ?

Not seeing it

I find that internal links also don't work between notes in the same filtered list. It seemed to be random to me if they worked or not but maybe there is patten. Also I find that when clicking on these internal links and it can't find the linked note ( even in the same filter ) that my CPU usage goes through the roof. Code is definitely having a dummy spit and then when it can't work it out it goes to home screen,  does nothing or off to some random note.

But tags only appear sometimes underneath the search bar in the Add Filter section.  This is why a dedicated Tag section under search that finds tags like in the  tag filter would fix all these problems.

Please upvote the feature request.

Hi mike this sounds like a good Idea.... found your post.... but I have 600 tags and don't know exact spelling (names etc.)  so searching for them is best for me, the "evil filter menu" does do this but just works badly with a search.  If we had a dedicated Tag section in the search suggestions, things would be sweet.

Remove Filter Suggestions and work on filter search integration.

Nearly all my notes have Checkboxes lists and Attachments so this is a waste of space

Filters can besser by actions as well, like clicking on a tag or a notebook. Sometimes a filter was set before, which leads to less search hits.

Search requires an input.

Is there a bug report or topic about Filters and search fields not been fully integrated as I am struggling with this?

Same happed to me. It was a "request failed, code: 403, error". pretty  sure they where blocking your IP Address or connection to prompt you in to action and it worked on me  I went from  v6.7.6 to EN10  yesterday ! I think I'm going to be OK.

I don't like the tag filter much either. The keyboard shortcut (alt+F2 on Windows) helps, as it goes straight to the tags section of the filter and you can immediately start typing your search.

Thanks alt+F2 works better to add multiple tags.. some strange behaviour after adding this way to clear filter. Filter doesn't show up under search ( no clear option here) and does not clear buy clicking on notes icon. clear only be deselecting and the little clear at top right of filter.

The problem with this is you can only add one tag to your filter using this method. With the search suggestions you can add multiple tags fast.

easy for some but hard for me to remember what some of my tags start with and how they are spelt. also doesn't seem to work

I am a GTD tag user and new to EN10 today 🙂 I see some random tags come up in suggestions when doing a search.  if we had dedicated section for Tags in the  popup suggestions that showed maybe 5-10 tags that contain your search term like in the add filters > tags dialog  (or Ctrl+alt+T dialog). Instead of having random tags showing up in the Add filter section this would be great as I do like the way this would work, one place to add tags and text to you filter. (Tags first).  Besides been a lot of extra clicks and cumbersome I find using the add filters > tags dialog and then the Search box  has random functionality.

For example

In this screen Shot  I'm looking for the "$InvReceivable" tag you can see it in the saved search section but not in the add filters section

If I  then make my search "invre" I get nothing so need to go off to the add filters > tags dialog and then back to search to narrow it down.
