  1. Thanks. That's Interesting.. i'll see if I can watch the syncing of the notes. The approach I'm doing is the same as what I've done for the last 4-5 years.. I tend to leave Evernote app open for weeks at a time and my laptop doesn't go to sleep often.. but sometimes it does. Today it didn't go to sleep at all from the time between updating notes and realizing that I had lost edits. Honestly, I've don't recall having to 'think' about Syncing with Evernote since I first started using it in 2008. If paying attention to Sync status is something to worry about now, I'll start paying attention to see if that's it.
  2. I have now lost edits to Notes twice with the same note and what I think are edits to other notes today. Tried searching for known issues or fixes. I made edits to one note last night in prep for leading a meeting this morning. Left my Mac (Catalina 10.15.7) on all night and left Evernote app open. This morning the edits were still there. I tried to cut/paste to rearrange some text and the paste wouldn't work -- I CMD-Z to undo the pastes. At this point, the edits were still in the note. I shutdown the app and restarted the app. The edits were no longer in the note... Now 10 minutes prior to the meeting, I'm scrambling to recall the info to get ready for the meeting... Made more edits... Have made edits to other notes throughout the day (2-3 other notes, I think)... now when I go back to Evernote the edits aren't there. I have NOT shutdown the app during the day today. That note from the morning has lost the edits again. Using Evernote Legacy app. And I'm now on a Evernote Basic plan (after many years on Premium). Loosing 2 significant edits in less than 8 hours is very concerning. I've tried reading through the Activity Logs, but nothing stands out to me. Any direction for what may be happening and how to resolve it?
  3. I've figured out you can get it to 'kinda' work if you use the bulleted list and put a space (or any character) before the checkbox. I use the [ ] to get a checkbox in the bullet item.
  4. I'll add on -- using Tabs is a critical part of my Notetaking workflow and the recent Mac app update removed them. It's been painful the last few days. Now I know it's a feature intentionally left out, so I'm not holding my breath it will come back anytime soon (given a lack of confirmation that it will in this thread by Evernote). But I will be taking this weekend to reinstall the Legacy version to get the feature back. And to buy myself time to plan a better migration off of EN. My Premium renewal is due in 2 weeks so I have just a little bit of time. I've been an EN user since March 2008. I'm sad that I'm at the point of exporting and planning a full migration to a different platform. the lack of features in this upgrade and the laggy performance is really hitting me hard.
  5. I came searching for info on this bulleted list plus Checkbox/ToDo items as well. The behavior is confusing to me and isn't working like in the past. I'm trying to understand what it does and how much it's going to mess up my note taking patterns and routines. And if it's an intended design or a bug. I used to use Bulleted lists to take Notes.. and occasionally a line would be a ToDo item so i would type the [] (that's [ and ] to get a check box) at the beginning of the line. This now turns ALL of the bullets to be checkboxes! ALL! when I look at older notes they show up fine -- bullets and the beginning of the line has a checkbox. So the Editor can display this ok. I've played around and figured out: If you type a space or any character on a bulleted line and then type [] you get a check box. so I can try to 'learn' a new muscle memory pattern to get this same result. But now the checkboxes turn the entire line into a Strikeout format when checked off -- the prior checkboxes didn't do that. My prior ToDo item lists that are checked don't have strike out. It only impacts newly checked items. Very inconsistent -- so this one feels like it's not about how the editor displays checked To Dos.
