  1. To answer my own question. The dictionary file is stored: C:\Users\<<USER NAME>>\Evernote\LocalStorage\Custom Dictionary.txt Sadly, you no longer can edit words into the text file. Some goofball of a programmer added a checksum_v1 to the file. Wonderful. Now I will have to add one-by-one all my words after Evernote forgot them for the 10th time.
  2. Spell check seems to be fixed for me in 6.15. But I need to re-add all my words ? Where is the dictionary file stored in 6.15?
  3. Below is Evernote's support's feedback for my reporting of note formatting bugs. I guess it is wait-and-see now. My workaround is to only use bullets for formatting paragraphs and not mix plain indent paragraphs and bullet paragraphs.
  4. I have a lot invested in Evernote with 10K notes and using it every hour of every day as part of my work process. Moving to GDocs is exactly what I DO NOT want to do. Moving to GDocs is not my choice, but if Evernote keeps making editing notes more and more unusable I will have to do something.
  5. I have the same bug report as @KymC open with Evernote support now. The formatting regression errors in Evernote for Windows is making Evernote unusable. I do not recommend Evernote for new users until it is resolved. I am close to stopping to use Evernote for any new projects and use Google Docs.
  6. I updated to 6.11.2.7027 (307027) Public (CE Build ce-43.0.4829) (not beta). It solves my problem of Evernote not using my spelling dictionary. I have to re-add my specific words again to my dictionary. The red-squiggle underline spelling errors stay away even after re-starting Evernote. This bug fix is noted in the6.11.2.7027 release notes "- An issue where words added to the dictionary aren't remembered between app launches".
  7. The workaround in https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/111873-f7-spell-check-gone/?tab=comments#comment-495280 (see text above) does not work for me. I add the word to new dictionary file, the red-squiggle goes away. I exit and restart Evernote, and the red-squiggle word comes back. Evernote, please fix this ASAP. I am running 6.10.3.6921 (306921) Public (CE Build ce-1.39.4387). To be sure, Evernote for Windows is more and more unusable at the most basic usage: Editor bad, no spell check, opening a note very slow, notes forgetting paragraph formatting, etc. Please stop adding any new features until the bugs in the key features are fixed.
  8. @jefito Thanks for the comment. I was hoping the new beta would change something, but it do not. My hope was based on the reply I quoted. Rather than using the revert to an old version workaround, I can wait for a real fix. Does anybody have an ETA on fixing this bug?
  9. I just installed the 6.10.1 beta. I do not have the two files on my desktop. The user.dic file in the Evernote\Dict folder is not created or updated. When I add a word to the dictionary, it is not remembered by Evernote.
  10. Recently Evernote has been painfully slow when changing a selection of a note and when editing a note. My workaround that improved performance was to uncheck "Automatically format text elements". The painful performance seems to have come with V6.8. I have a few very long notes (daily journal/log), but it happened with short notes too. I have 5600 notes. Windows 10. Running on SSD. Did an "Optimise Database", but did not improve performance. I am 80% sure unchecking "Automatically format text elements" improved performance for me. Your mileage may vary.
  11. Same as @Northland, I have been a LONG time premium user of Evernote. On my Windows machine, I have awful formatting issues. This is a newish problem that is getter worse. It seems to be more an issue with larger (e.g. 125K characters) /long edited notes (3 years of daily edits to my log). My main issue is with indents and bullets get changed when you reopen a note. The editor is broken.
  12. Note margins are too big in general but are truly painful on a laptop. Please allow them to be configured.
