  1. Just ignore that guy and you won't see his posts. He was extremely rude towards me last year when I said v10 was not great because I wanted a feature - to see notes without previews, just a detailed list of notes that I can sort in various ways. Many people were also looking for this feature, but he came to the thread and was extremely crude and abrasive about it, saying that nobody wants this feature even though many were supporting the thread with likes and comments. After ignoring that guy to make his posts invisible, this forum is significantly less annoying.
  2. It seems as if I am not an "extreme outlier", since I was responding to a thread that shares my views. This is a big issue, I'll check back from time to time to see if there are any updates and will probably be happy with the new Evernote if it is ever resolved.
  3. Thank you, yes I'm fully aware of this. You have side-stepped the point - v10 takes away the option to turn off the note panel in the UI.
  4. In previous versions of Evernote, it was possible to view your note list as a compact detailed list of notes, with columns that you can select yourself, and sort as you wish, without the note panel. In this view, you need to open your note in a new window to read it, but it is a clean and crisp view. Frankly, I do not need or want previews of notes shoved in my face all the time. If I decide to view or edit a note, I'll prefer to view it or edit it in a full screen.
  5. Thanks for sharing your experience with Nimbus. Being sorely disappointed with Evernote's version 10, I'm actively looking for an Evernote alternative. Nimbus is one of the first that I tried. My first impression with Nimbus was extremely positive, but then two major flaws revealed themselves. The first problem with Nimbus is that I can't toggle off the note view in the UI. This is one of the changes in Evernote's version 10 that led me to look for an alternative, so it is a dealbreaker. The second problem is that I can't nest tags in Nimbus. The ability to nest tags is one of Evernote's best features, and I haven't found an alternative program that has this feature. One major positive thing about Nimbus that Evernote does not have is that tags can be clicked from within a note, the result of the click being the same as if it were clicked from in the sidebar - it searches for all the notes with the tag. However, this is not enough of a positive to overlook the two previously mentioned dealbreakers. This thread reinforces my choice not to switch to Nimbus. It is a pity, it did seem like it had potential.
  6. The only things that I want to see in the sidebar are: New Notebooks Tags Trash There should be an option to toggle off all of the other clutter.
  7. This thread is well over three years old but it does deserve a bump. Since I mainly use the desktop version, i don't have to deal with this problem often but this feature would vastly improve the web version.
  8. It is important to be able to turn off the note panel. Forcing us to have notes displayed in the UI is extremely annoying. This is the primary reason that I rapidly uninstalled v10. All that I want is a detailed list view with sortable columns that I can choose, and if I want to view or edit a note, I'll click it and open it in a full window. In this regard, the old version was perfect. It was absurd to remove this. It is not fair to say that few people care. It is very likely that there would be more complaints if people did not have an old version of the program to use.
  9. Until yesterday, I was blissfully using the old version for years with no problems and was unaware of this v10 nonsense. Suddenly, all of my notes disappeared yesterday. After a computer restart didn't solve the problem, I decided to try reinstalling the program. This led to me trying version 10 for the first time. Oh my gosh, v10 is awful. 🤢 After about 20-30 minutes, I uninstalled it. Thankfully I was able to find the legacy app.
